Also it may help to have a map; there are specific corner/areas that will 'extract' you from the map with your gear; if you can't get there then you lose your stuff

Lvls 1-10 aren’t that hard to lvl if u just take the time to kill scavs. Can get it in under a few hrs if u really work at it and do quests aswell

I'm gonna start learning Shoreline for hidden stash runs and for some leveling via killing Scavs. How often do you all run into players, assuming you're avoiding Resort?

Rare, I play alot of shoreline and almost never run into PMCs outside of the Resort, Player scavs are common enough to be on the look out however.
If you're looking to level up I would recommend questing over scav hunting alone.

A lot of my quests are on Customs and I've been getting destroyed there. Hell, I still have trouble against scavs sometimes (though I know they got buffed recently)

I initially started playing Tarkov with a very seasoned veteran that had been playing since august of 2016 and to be a new comer playing with somebody that won every fight he got into, blow past rank 50 every single wipe and have insanely high skill, learning with him wasn't learning how to play the game but learning how to be a backup, while it taught me very very well how to back people up in fights and be a fall back, it didn't teach me how to actually win fights, when I ventured on my own I no longer felt that security of being able to rely on a friend, but with enough determination and painful and stressful raids I broke the habit and got past my problems with freezing up.
I 100% know the feeling on a spiritual level lmao
its also why i think its important people teaching others the game will lower down to their gear level instead of running the best stuff available to them.

@fathom junco you are using a grenade with a 15-30 meter arming distance, use those outside. For close distance use the ones with 3 meter arming distance. Or if they are in your face maybe the shotgun grenade is better (even if it’s trash 5 feet away)

Other than that when Im running in I go to hot spots so if I die, me selling the items to traders will make it worth it
