Literally got back into the game yesterday
Have survived 1/4 raids so far. Saw a kitted guy run down a road, lost sight of him like a spider you see crawling accross your carpet. Doubled back did some exploring, shot a scav and not long after I hear footsteps.
They know I'm behind the fence, holding an angle, they push to the other side and I'm too slow to pop them.
Thing is I didn't hear them til they were maybe 5 metres from my position. Even with comtacs it was like they had materialised out of know where as I was sure there was no one nearby that might follow behind me.

Fair but they would have had to slow walk for quite some time as I didn't really wait too long after I popped the scav. In fairness I could do better with positioning myself. I played last wipe but only got to like level 26 and was crippled with gear fear even when I had a modest 4 mil in the bank.

@shy terrace I had the exact same feeling when i started mid-last-wipe(without help, just thinking "maybe i like it"), after a week of not playing i told myself "u cant be too incompetent for the game" and started doing my scavs regularly, pmc nearly only with mates - took some while till i got good enough to go in alone as a pmc! but this wipe I'm at 50%+ survival rate, near kappa and 90mil stash value, its not impossible and super rewarding when u get to the point where u know ur way around - good luck! also: there was a warning when u first launched the game "u will die. probably often" (:

@hollow frost Most don't, when people panic most just go the only option they know. Spray and pray, and if you have a Shotty with AP-20 you've got a much better chance of winning that kind of FF.
Course there'll be people that will know to back off, and change tactic, but thankfully the majority are thick as hell xD

It's mainly down to what spawn you get, will depend on where and what you will do. For example, the map is split in to left and right. Mid being dorms to roadblock and new factory.
If you spawn at the railroad to port, you are in the best position to bolt it over the bridge and fight the scavs at the Roadblock as they nearly always spawn first. But if you spawn near the Railroad to Military Base. Your best option is to either go down to New Gas, or west to Dorms. Both carry the obvious risk.
If you don't get those spawns, then your ultimate option is to take it slow and steady. Scavs will spawn in over time so don't push it, if you make a raid last 20+ minutes but can get one or two straglers despite spawning in the far corners that's a win

Not so much respawn, but that not all scavs spawn in instantly, they actually are on timers which are randomised. They could all spawn in within 5 minutes, or take their time over 20 minutes. For kill quests it's defo down to where you spawn, get the two I mentioned and you just rush and get the kills and get out. If you don't get those spawns, then it's not uncommon to loot and walk your way through the map, picking off the stragglers.

No worries, there's a few okay servers in the EU. But for some reason the majority are bad, they are working on them but it'll take time to scale it down and fix it. I generally stick to US Easy with my duo partner

Have you tried offline play? It's a really good way to learn the maps, following the maps on the Wiki. Then use your scav to learn the map in online mode so you don't have to deal with any gear fear.

Oh you don't use offline for pvp skills, well actually no that's a lie. If you get a Labs key card keep it and offline run that with scavs set to horde mode. You can really get some good practise in on firing and moving!
But for map learning, honestly, it's a fantastic tool so I recomend using it! Especially as you aren't limited to anything

Factory offline on horde mode is also a really hectic time and I’ve found it pretty good for practicing gunplay myself - I’m pretty bad at shooters on PC and it’s helped me a lot

Factory on horde is like, insane. Labs is great for learning the cover based shooting and getting mid range shots in, Factory is basically how you learn where to put your cross hair and scream :D

Hello everyone. I just recently got tarkov and have done maybe 6 raids and only survived 1. I cant seem to get the hang of this game or figure out how not to die. I tend to accidently shoot other scavs while im a scav and then they kill me because i cant tell the difference between them and other players. Any help? Thank you!
