There's an easier workaround for it though. Go hide somewhere for the first 18 minutes, then at the last moment make a run to the location, place your stuff and then exfil, the exfil gate is right next to the cabin you need to place the item in.

Here's 3 hiding spots that ive used on factory, usually i will retreat here if i am very low and i need to heal up or want to wait out the raid so i dont get killed after i took damage.
Bottom left red circle is behind the door, keep it open and stand behind it.
The one right to it is a wall and some crates, you can crouch between them, people tend to miss this spot often.
Changing room showers are pretty good as well but riskier but is very close to the cabin and gate 3

lvl 10 for flea access will make your life a whole lot easier @lyric ocean so try to go for that.
Best ways to lvl would be questing, fight scavs (i like to hold up in factory, then lure all the scavs to the showers) or by finding a campfire or barbed wire and damage yourself and then heal back up constantly with a backpack full of medkits.

@worldly vortex i tend to find a lot of MP133's in weapon racks, but the spawnrates are often low and except for reserve and resort in high-traffic areas, very rare. Really your best bet is to get them off scavs.

honestly the main reason how i managed to go from a negative K/D to a positive K/D against players was by getting really accustomed to the maps and learn traffic areas, this is really something that comes with experience @opaque garnet but ive seen a few good videos on youtube that help with getting in the PvP mindset, that way you can more easily get the drop on enemies and be on the lookout for areas where are you are more likely to run into PMC's

@opaque garnet if a quest is too hard to finish, its usually easy to finish if you wait out the raid till the last few minutes. No one will be at sawmill if there's only 7 minutes left in raid, and yes, you can still make the exfil within that time. Just make sure not to linger.

you need to feel comfortable knowing how to flank enemies.... knowing when to retreat and rotate... etc.. No it's not gonna teach you how to 'run through' the map but you'll learn more angles and stuff... you'll be running through and go 'OhohohHh what a good angle that is, i gotta remember that one!'

@opaque garnet would also say that some of the larger maps are best learnt if you stick to specific areas until youre comfortable with those and then go elsewhere. Learning every nook and cranny outside of the mall on interchange, then learn to find your way around the labyrinth in the parking garage, then go on up the mall, etc.

Learning maps in 'pockets' is how i tackled learning EfT and it made me know some areas of the map very well in a short timespan, that helps with navigation and figuring out some good sweet spots you might like to use.

Your first mag or 2 should be your stronger bullets if you're going to do that, cause you're going to run into other PMCs before scavs most times
and if you're running weaker ammo, dont be afraid to mag dump them

@sharp bronze From personal experience, you will learn better by doing offline raids, or if that is too boring, use your scav. Have a map open, on your second monitor if you have, your phone or just alt tab. Use landmarks you see and your map to locate where about you are, then carry on going doing exactly the same, using landmarks(Pylons, walls, constructions, buildings etc.) and your map. Keep going, take notice of certain areas, and the more you go the more you will get familiar with the layout. With pretty much every map it will come with a list of extractions, just keep a note of which are pmc and scav and which have certain requirements(but that will be on other maps).

If you want to struggle through. Pick a map, I suggest Interchange, and just learn that one map. Play scav online and while scav is cooling off, play offline to learn map and scav spawns

Most early quests take you to Customs, so personally I think that's the first place you should properly familiarize yourself with. Interchange is a personal favorite of mine as well, so you can't go wrong with that one either.

I start all new players on interchange. stash runs and garage looting as starting points. Gives easy raids and good money.
with the easy money they can build stash value and replenish losses.
This means that the players can then explore other areas of other maps and other more aggressive play styles.

Customs may very well have easy loot runs as well, but I do not know them. I know people do low risk reserve raids as well, again I do not know them.
Finally Shoreline has a HUGE amount of stashes you can loot. I typically find that boring and is not a raid that you can really build off of.

True, Shoreline cache runs are kind of low risk, low reward. They can make you a good bit of cash, but the time involved is pretty big, and you're not really learning much about the map itself.
I do a lot of pistol runs on reserve to make rubles, but you need to know the map pretty well and invest into keys.

But from your description of 'Marked key' I assume its the Customs one, cause thats the only one named that way, any Reserve ones are named RB, like all others Reserve ones.

@little niche wait the raid out let people clear that area and do their thing then go in for the pocket watch, doing it at the start of a raid will get you killed 95% of the time

What I would do for money is learn reserve or custom stash spots, preferably reserve and go to high traffic areas and be really fast about it

I finished 3 prapor quests today and the only pvp I got was sniper scav and reshala
Also just last night I was running custom, a lot of the people there were level 10 below too

most PvP in shoreline is medium-short ragne believe it or not
It's too easy to break sight lines on shoreline, with hills and rocks
so there is less sniping going down... not to say you cant snipe on shoreline, you totally can, but you're gonna be camping gas station or power station
maybe camping the upper cottages, whereas on woods, you can snipe from almost anywhere

any tips on how to spot enemies, i feel like if they are like 50 or so meters away and im walking through an area, i find it hard to see exactly where the enemy is before they end up killing me, maybe i need to brighten up the games shadowed areas?

so i would go into an offline raid, and then go into your video settings and mess with them to clear your picture...
it's got a nice 'preview view' so that you can see what the settings change without saving them

lowering my fov helped with that. but you will get better at noticing things and knowing where people are likely to be eventually
