I don't get why I just can't get good at this game. Most raids I end up dying just a few minutes in. Whether I run or try and hide someone always seems to find me. And of course I can't afford anything decent, guns or ammo, to shoot back with. I can do well in offline mode, but as soon as players/PvP is involved I turn into dogshit.

Every death makes you better. Iam after 267raids with 41% iam playing 2-3days per week. The start of this game is hard but it takes time to master it nor learn it. My first wipe was around 14% SR i was absolute dogshiat but you learn the game each step you take.

You must consider if you are good at long range , mid range , close range combat your equipment you got what ammo you got vs wich armor you are against.

Every death should help you get a little better. Like "ohhh shit that wasn't a good route to run" or "this is a good position to watch this spot" or a million other little things. Not necessarily just getting better at killing people. Getting better at avoiding getting into the kinds of situation that you mentioned

it's gonna be really hard to start. I did almost exclusively scav runs when i started. you can learn the map, learn the gameplay, earn some money to get a little better gear, and risk nothing.

then learn safe pathing on reserve, and when you feel like you want to step up your moneymaking get some keys, possibly RR, might as well grab rb-vo and rb-bk (marked rooms) and loot them if you get a good spawn

the point is, i had a mental model of the game and made some assumptions about the guns, but only after i took some guns to the offline raid and started testing them - like shooting full auto on the wall at 15-25m distance i realized how gun play actually works in this game

shoreline is super spread out and woods is good if i wanna go for a few pmc kills and quick extract
you have to be mindfull of snipers on both maps though

If you are new I'd highly recommend learning interchange, it'll give you highout items and a steady flow of cash. Focus your scav run here.
Whatever load out you get from your scav PMC run reserve with that, that way you aren't losing money and have the chance to increase your cash flow.
Stick odd labs for now till you've offline ran it enough to know the ins and outs, then hide in the shadows for the first 5-10 minutes as if there is anyone doing the naughtiness they'll leave after that cos they'll be full of loot

Pretty good, you can have a large ammo capacity with the 20/35rnd mags, bit awkward to scope up sometimes but it can be done, fires as fast as you want if you get pushed on.
And its cheap as hell

There's an issue where pulling the trigger is delayed and can cause issues with lining up the shot

There can be up to ~200ms delay between clicking your mouse and the weapon actually firing
and the fact it can be unpredictable makes the weapon unusable peronsally
I love the boom it makes and it's so easy to chuck a scope on, but it just isnt that viable
