I just did a scav run on customs and came across a body with a gun on it I hadnt examined yet. Because I didnt know what gun it was I couldnt put it into my inventory. @shut pelican "good" is kinda subjective, not really any great helmets that meet those requirements and are still budget. You can use a tak-kek "slow-mt" for a visor-holder with ricochet chance. Other options are the lzsh and tc 800 (tc 800 best bang-for-buck imo)

Personal preference to some degree - I have gotten my bell rung and survived with it on several occasions. It also depends on how your engagements happen. When you aren't the one choosing the fight it can make it harder to line up an ez headshot on you. If you are ratting hard and never get caught off guard it will be a lot less useful

It’s a legit tactic if u ask me, doing the quest has a few reasons other than doing it for the kappa: you find sniping fun, you find a challenge fun, u find it easy, or you want to suffer losing all your guns trying to get these kills

There are a lot of passive benefits, including quest items you can craft and items you can sell etc.

Later on, there's passive money generation - you can produce bitcoins automatically and have scavs run out to get random gear for you.

#

Being able to craft medkits, food, weapons etc is very useful too.

That can and will happen with some bad luck, but it'll at least protect you from the more basic ammo.

Figure out what surfaces make what kind of noise. Get used to how fast you're walking affects the loudness.

Not necessarily. There's no harm in sprinting around but you should recognise that doing so will alert people to your position.

That's not innately bad, just something to consider.

For example, if you hear someone sprinting, your first reaction might be to find and kill that person. Or you might decide to avoid combat and move away from the noise. Or you might hold position to see where they go etc

The mindset of each player is different, and also VERY situational. Got a lot of loot you don't wanna lose? You might get defensive and move slower. Feel like you're able to get into a fight and not worry about shots? Sure, go sprinting.

If you are not overweight and are uninjured, the slowest walk speed doesn't make you COMPLETELY silent, but very very quiet. Again, surface makes the difference. Walking up metal steps is louder than grass.

#

Likewise, headsets make a big difference. Some headsets reduce or increase different noises.

A lot of it will just be learning the maps, too. Like, you'll almost always want to sprint into interchange to avoid combat outside. Once you're in, up to you how you behave.

Got beta container
waited until wipe
Wipe happens I upgrade to Prepare for Escape edition that comes with Beta container so I 'feel like I never lost it'
quest until Epsilon container in new wipe
now Im tryna get kappa

I did it this way so Im incentivized and feel the progression
If I bought EOD Id already have a gamma and a kappa is only +3 slots in comparison so I wouldn't be incentivized to unlock it

@split aspen The only settings I can think of that would affect that are Overall LOD quality and Overall visibility. Max those out, see if that makes a difference

@mossy linden Technically, I suppose it's worth it. I'd recommend just upgrading over time; start with basic, play and enjoy it a bit first then upgrade to the middle tier in a month or so (or when you next can afford it).

Nothing physical, but the later editions include not only large stash upgrades, they also include larger pouches for storing items safely when raiding.

I have a bit of a problem with loadouts at the moment. Although not a beginner in terms of time played... I still feel like it. I'm level 34 but I've got here using the bare minimum basically. I want to start using better gear but I just don't know what's good in terms of Cost / Benefit and finding the balance... my messages are open if you can help out 🙂

@grim geode im exactly where at this point myself. i started using tri zips ; tv-110 rigs (23 slots and armor class 4) with weapon loadouts for around 150ishk and it pays out ALOT. it hurts when you die but usually you just need one raid to get the cost back in and after that its pure profit due to the sheer amount of stuff you can loot

Most guns are at least useable, just use the best ammo you can. Try different guns (in offline if you don’t want to lose them) to figure out what you like

pro tip too, i wouldent recomend playing with the people here in lfg, alot of them will do shady stuff to your gear if you die and take it. they are also huge loot fiends.
