for shotgun kills, go to Scav house and the sawmill
for PMC kills, just hang around the hotspots that aren't resort

@viral wind stick to the outskirts of the map and you tend to learn them faster
also would reccomend going in offline mode and checking out the map. It would also be a good idea to pull up the map on your phone to see the spawns and get to plan your route

I have a question - I think I've experienced heavy d'syncs few times.
On few occasions I heard shots very close to me, in open space, but I never managed to spot the players, even tho the gun fight continued (although whenever it occured I never got shot myself).
Also few times I managed to get to extract point, it was green on my list, not one-off, when I approached the extract point the countdown began, but I stayed on the map. I've tried to stay there bit longer, approached the extract few more times - each time the countdown began - but eventually I had to move to another extract point.

Scav runs are risk free ways to get money, you spawn with some equipment, you can literally walk to the exit with it, grab a few stuff on the way, sell and repeat.

@cloud night im not entirely sure, but telepathic scavs are common. I think all that is required is to have them change from 'passive' to 'active' by engaging a player at least once, and then are in a state where they become telepathic to any others as well.

You can't get a red dot for AK from a ll1 traders. But you can get the cobra EKP-8-02 reflex which can be used as long as you got a side mount thing on the AK @meager stump

you can always take a scav run and shot one for free
i'm a newb as well, but lately i've been practicing with taking out scavs around old gas station whenever i spawn there
takes a bit of preparation - you need to mentally map all of them, and align your first shots, but it's definitely doable and can yield decent drops

Go night, run Scav, loot, avoid contact on a map you won't be spotted on with NVGs. My personal fav is customs, running Jegar stashes.
Also, take advantage of barter trades. For instance, one Rechargeable Battery (Rec Batt.) will net you an ADAR.

Go offline, and figure out why your screen is so dark, be it Nvidia settings, 4K HDR being to aggressive, or your monitor's color gamut.
Sometimes it is very dark, but you should be able to at least navigate ~ it could also be a sense of map knowledge. Offline mode could also help in knowing where you are ~ understanding the maps is probably the most important aspect of EFT.

Focus on being a rat, learn the map, learn where the loot spawns are, try not to run too often especially inside buildings (esp. interchange) learn the ""crouch walk", use it esp. when u hear enemies close by, avoid fights as much as possible, if unavoidable, employ guerrilla tactics, get the drop on them, wait for enemy to turn a corner or attack form concealment, and if all else fails, run away to fight another day. And lastly, extract with more than you came in with.

@quasi yew I was ready to jack the game in mate. I had 3 really good days and 4 miserable days where I got pumped and lost my shirt. I've started ratting now, using insured backpacks/pistols and going for high value loot locations like safes etc where if I loot keys/mega valuable items i can stick them in my pouch and know that I'm coming out ahead-ish. I'm starting with meds etc in my pouch and swapping them out for keys/valuables as I find them. Not sprinting around too much unless I'm VERY close to a high tier loot spawn right at the start - in which case i just go balls out to get there first and get some stuff in my pouch to pay for the run.
Basically I've given up fighting until I can afford ammo that works, and I'm enjoying the game a lot more :p
Still taking opportunistic kills when I get them, but otherwise there's been a lot of proning and holding of breath while fully kitted trios run straight past me on Customs

Slightly mod the MP-133 he trades to comply with the quest and you're done, the wiki has a rundown of how to make it.

i think that quest is bugged and you dont need a scav vest, it may have been fixed. other than that i would say either grab a sniper and watch high traffic areas early in the raid or take a SMG into resort, whatever your playstyle is

this game takes a while to get into, learning the maps figuring out playstyles. everything takes time some may be faster than others but you will figure it out, if you really are completely stuck with nothing and are ok with losing your quest progression then you can reset your account and get your equipment back. either way what i recommend is look at exactly what you died to and how you can prevent that in the future. if you find your problem is accuracy/gunfight ability like me, try using flanking and positioning to end fights before they happen, if you keep dying from random spots then start watching them. just keep an eye on what mistakes you made and how you can prevent your deaths, master your playstyle and you'll do a lot better

watching others is a good way to learn map/ game info but everyone has different skillsets, what one person might be good at you arent. figure out what kind of tactics you want to use, like me i learned from operatordrewski that you can bring a cheap gun like a hunter into change and use the audio and flanking routes of the map to out position and kill people no matter their gear
since im not good at straight up fights like youll see other streamers do i keep quiet and try to not be spotted
