So guys, new to the game but spend about 15-19 hours so far and still super confused. I got a lot better at reading maps/locations. But biggest issue i still have is damaging/damage counts.
today i literally had a close 1v1. hit him with over 5 clips from 3 different weapons, hit majorirty of the shots but i still lose from maybe 5-7 bullets?
i did 358ish to his armor, but player damage overall did over 550. IDK how he could survive all this but i manage to die(he didnt even hit my head and i had a soft body armor) mind you all this damage is within i'd say a total of 4-7 seconds. So im super confused on how he would destroy me like this but yet i die when he finally decided to look at me?
Also why do i have to inspect my bullets to see which they belong too? Do i just gotta remember eventually how the bullet casing looks so i just know which its for? i wish instead of some of the info it gives it would just say "7.624 x 39" isntead of some lettering.
Also, how would i personally know if the bullet penetrants more than others? is it the velocity?
Like i love the game but a person Who just saw this games as an advertised game not really watching streamers, i gave it a go. Learned to instantly shoot to some youtubers and man even with all this info game is crazy complex. I love the realism but handbook is worthless. also theirs so much to this game, clips ranging from low-high. Multiple different bullets. Im trying my best to learn/understand but so much information is pretty heavy on someone new to this game. Never in my life i ever struggled in a game after putting more than 10 hours into it.

somebody said, and I dunno how true it is so id love some conversation. Somebody in one of the Tarkov discords im in said that given the P90 fires so much faster than the M4, the penetration difference is negligible especially on smaller maps.
That kinda makes logical sense to me but I dont really understand guns.

@solemn pike the rof difference isn't too much, 800 vs 900. but best p90 ammo has the same pen (37) as 3rd best m4 ammo (m856a1). so if you are not using m995 i would say they are equally as effective

I had a lot of success with it middle of last wipe when PMCs were staying away from Olli so it was mostly class 3 or class 0 armor scavs, but then I ran into a chunky who had class 5. My friend finished him, I barely touched his armor.After that I dropped it.

Don't aim just focus on shooting the guy as quickly as possible when unexpected when expected rely on you senses don't muscle the sights a shot fired is a bullet they don't have but know when to hold fire and I found success in running away

Eh, SMGs are good depending on what vests or armour the opponent use.
If it is a heavy vest, that can take alot of hits from SMG shots,
its best to aim for the head.
