I found a bag full of loot stuffed inside another bag, inside another bag. So I put my bag in that bag and took the new one out with me. Confusing, but interesting.

Not really a specifically beginner question, but my game (and computer) both just crashed simultaneously pretty hard, and now the launcher is telling me the game isnt installed. I just found this, which seems to indicate otherwise, but i cant physically find the game on my HDD or SSDs. Is there ANY way for me to find the game or do I have to reinstall it.
I'm really skeeved out that reinstalling the game will reset my progress because the launcher made me login again.

The account is on their servers not on your computer, so dont worry you wont lose progress :)
As for finding the game, I'd say the best bet is to use a tool like windirstat to see what takes up space on ur drive and maybe you'll find ur tarkov installation

@brazen owl Not gonna lie, right now the servers are kind of shit again. I don't know if you were here back in November/December but there was a recurring meme that got posted pretty regularly with "Tarkov hours of operation" and it gave the game 24 hours a day every day M-F and then TOTALLY closed on Saturday and Sunday. For most of January and mid February, myself and most other people couldn't play on the weekends for at least 4 hours each day, and this was before coronavirus and the stay at home orders. It feels like the servers are under tremendous strain right now....cant particularly say why because it felt like they fixed this back in March.
based off your specs its not your PC, unless you have one of the worst SSDs on the market.
Regardless, my PC is a good deal better than yours and it still takes wayyyyyyyyyyyy too long to queue and get in raids.
another thing ive noticed too, regardless of if you go scav or PMC, if you go with more than 2 right now the spawns are almost totally random. Eg, I spawn at Emercon checkpoint (one of the Interchange exfils) and my boy spawns in at Idea (which is the entire length of the map apart.)

So my friend got me tarkov as a gift, and I've been enjoying it as much as I can, but I feel like it's a bit too much for me. Whenever I spawn, I basically walk for a minute before getting shot in the back of the head, and it's just getting kind of discouraging at this point. Number 1 thing im gonna tell you. In most FPS games there is a best gun that dominates the meta. Cuz of the bullets system, its not like that with this game. All the guns are basically equal in lethality with the right bullets. I used to think that you buy the best armor you can afford and skimp out on bullets. Its actually the opposite.

@spring talon I absolutely despise the front sight for the SKS, so heres an additional suggestion for you. You could roll a Hunter or an ADAR, both their front sights are a lot better...and you only have level 1 traders so its really difficult to replace that sight.

like we all agreed an hour ago bullets are a lot more important than guns up to a certain point.
obviously a dude with a TT isn't generally gonna win against an M4, but once you get to actual SMG and rifle caliber MOST of it comes out in the wash.
