Power station is also a hot spot and when I opened the power the room was already open when I got there

Alright, so. I've played the game for a day now, and I am coming up to day two. It's fun, and hardcore, but a little difficult for me to get to fully understand.
I've done a scav and PMC raid here and there, with success and failure rates.
Understanding the weapon mechanics is taking me a little while. I really need to learn to shoot in this game.
I'd like some guidance/assistance with a few things:
- What is the best place to start? So far, I've been having a better success rate with Shoreline as a starting point. Customs, not so much.
- Is there better ways to navigate a map (via a web browser on my laptop, I found a website.)
- What should, and should I not loot? Should I take the "You need to have a goal" piece of advice? - Latter I might know the answer to myself as I am figuring out how to upgrade my hideout.
- What is the purpose of dog-tags? What can I do with them?
- What items could I sell here and there, and so and so on.

A good way to navigate is using reference points such as radar tower and resort
Loot stuff that u think are valuable u shoot loot guns or maybe u should loot anything u find considering u are coming up on day 2, take what u can and u can start to learn what is valuable
The purpose of dog tags is to sell or collect or verify that u killed them when u are with people
always check, keys,electronics,batteries or some scopes those tend to be the most valuable and keycards of course

Learn customs first, lots of quests there, some highend/lowend pvp going on, so potentially some nice gear too
There are plenty of maps on the wiki
also, learning the cost of items is something that really comes in handy
Like if you have 1 slot remaining and two items that are slightly similar prices, if you can recall which is better to keep, it helps

I'd kinda hold onto most things before selling, until you reach level 10, so you can check flea prices

just a tip sono, about the signal part 1, for the power station objective just follow those big electricity poles when you see them, they are ending at the power station where the antenna ( mission objective ) is supposed to be from what the wiki says, i did it, got shot by a player there so i didn't found the antenna but it supposed to be there, just becarful there is alot of scavs there, and one scav sniper on the power station building roof

@verbal pendant The roof of the west wing can be accessed via an outside metal staircase. If you enter through the break in the fence in the NW corner and run, bush-to-bush diagonally towards the building, you'll see it. Run up to the roof and go near the satellite dish and you're done. Wait til there's like 20 minutes left in the raid, and it'll likely be deserted, save for a few AI scavs.
You can also enter the west wing from the roof. There's some quests in there later on.

You can loot melee weapons off scavs. They removed the ability to loot melee weapons when other melee weapons like the sword were introduced. In the golden days you could loot melee weapons, but the looted melee weapon was not lost.
So you can imagine how easy it was to duplicate melee weapons. At that time it was not an issue though since Fence was the only one buying them and he bought them for essentially nothing, and flea market did not exist.

A good way to make money, is to invest money into shoreline keys. Each run you do, you will bring back easily 400k +, and if you get lucky, you can get over 50 million (If you get red keycard)

and I hit him an additional 4 times and he still didnt die

He'd be long dead with 20 SP-6, it takes SP-6 like 8-10 shots to kill anyone through any armor granted you only hit their Thorax
