i did quests and leveled up quick but some of them like delivery from the past are a bit tricky also i just farmed scavs on shoreline and customs and did interchange cache runs you probably will get unlucky on all maps and see geared players. Practice offline to remember the map layouts and extracts. Also on interchange and shoreline i see a lot of pistolings and hatchet runners but they usually head towards the hotspots so be careful. Reserve once you get used to it is extremely profitable and has tons of loot but has a lot more geared players but you still see hatchlings and pistolings rushing loot spots.

So I'm not exactly a beginner at the game, I've played a good deal, but I'm still really garbage at it. The quest prapor is having me do now requires me to kill 10 PMCs on shoreline, and although that's my best map, I don't think I've killed 10 PMCs in all the time I've played up to 23, and if I have it's pretty close. When I do kill people it's because I saw them first while they were out in a field going from A to B and I managed to set up a shot on them. I finally feel comfortable killing scavs, but I have no idea how to approach fighting players, as I feel 90% of the time I have a quarter of a second to line up a headshot or I'll just get obliterated, any tips?

@silver garnet Basic advice would be to play offline raids, firstly without AI to learn the maps (Customs is important for early quests; I'd recommend Interchange for money), then add AI to begin learning the combat mechanics, and then make use of your Scav runs to learn in real raids without jeopardising your own gear (AI Scavs also won't attack you as a Scav).

cuz player scavs or pmcs will camp the body

My go to in the start was scav runs and just run straight to extract(helps learn map) and if you just avoid players/ai and make it out you got free gear to use for pmc. Then while scav cools@down I do pmc run and do exact same thing with alittle more looting on the way.

if you play solo you cant loot out in the open and you got to be really ready to run or fight if you hear a sound while looting

also if you press your prone key as you press your search key you can search while prone

you need to really slow walk a LOT to get from point A to point B without enemies hearing you and also so YOU can hear THEM!
So it's a lot of stealth and patience...
It's the difference of being a regular soldier with a large platoon...or several platoons as infantry and being a tiny special forces 'squad'... You need to rely on stealth, ambush and guerrilla tactics

There ARE recommended beginner/cheap rifles like Vepr Hunter or SKS.... but in the end i realised u can kill well geared players with crap rifles or even a pistol and just as possible is DYING with the BEST rifle... it's all about where you place yourself and tactics....

AMMO is very important too - if you don't understand how well they penetrate what type of armour and keep using shitty/cheap ammo, you will shoot the hell out of someone and they just don't die...

try to get a shooting range in your hideout so you can practice coz recoil control is tough... i'd probably advise not to use full auto anyway... unless you're literally just a couple of feet away 😂

u know about offline mode too right? That is good for pratice... i only used it 3 times... i found the Scav runs are more than enough to use as free practice to get my skills up

but if you are really new or trying to learn a map - it might be a great way for u
