Remember that the lower the max hit points the armour gets from repairs, the easiest it is to penetrate

So say a level 5 vest that has 20/20 hit points might be no better than a level 3

Not 100% Sure but this is how i think it is if i didnt misunderstand it: if Max dura is 70 and you have 50/70 the PEN Chance is higher thats why you repair it. So at 64/64 (after repair) the PEN Chance is the Same as with 70 but it takes less bullet to get through because of the lower durability

Otherwise repairing armor would be fairly pointless as well

that's why its not worth repairing past a certain point

Well I'm just gonna say, glad that works for you, but reserve isnt as noob friendly as a suggestion so I'd just recommend interchange if you're strapped for cash.

There are also lots of places that get unlooted. My 1mil run was a 20min left raid.

Hey all. New player. Got the game yesterday and I have very little clue on how to progress. I died initially (shocker) and lost some stuff. I've been running raids with nothing but my alpha container and knife trying to loot stuff before I die. I'm not that great at the mechanics or understanding what to do in situations either. First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesn’t matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.
