@bold kernel I am pretty sure found in raid status remains for you. If someone loots it off you it loses the found in raid status.
Not 100% on how it works though. But basically if you need an item found in raid, keep it safe and don't take it in raid

That’s been my strategy from the beginning - if I know another player doesn’t see me, I don’t engage. I suck at PvP (as previously stated), so I tend to stay away unless they spot me/engage. I try to be quick, grab what’s worth something, but it’s tough tough tough

A change in mindset is important for Tarkov as well. Most games measure success by number of kills. In tarkov kills don't matter. Surviving is the most important thing.

You can make lots of money an survive without shooting a shot. To me that is a sucessful raid. Killing 10 sweaty geared players with 1 million rubles on each of them and then dying to #11 or a scav is still a failure.

Not sure which streamer I took this tip from, but it's a goodie: Try to make them fight on your terms. If you can't fight on your terms, see if you can retreat. Got shot at by a mosin guy in my last raid after taking out another mosin guy I was just about to loot. I said nope, didn't see a convenient way to bring the fight to them and legged it in a moderately safe direction (visual cover, then hard cover) and never saw them again that raid.

Veritas is quite possible. I'd also recommend Pestily's new raid series for beginners. Starts off way beyond what a newbie can do, but is full of good advice from what I can tell.

What gun should I start runnning now that I can afford to mod up a little? I've been mostly running budget ak-74m with BS ammo, gun for ~20-22k, and mod could be either 20-40k or around 70~100k if I'm feeling spicy. I finally maxed out my hideout and having ~10 mil in stash
