the biggest "mistake" if you will i see a lot new players tend to make is: needing ages to loot stuff, if you need 2min to loot a normal scav you have a high chance of getting killed, the faster you loot stuff the safer you get at least in my experience, so if you kill someone and decide to loot him: do it quick and then get somewhere safe to examine his stuff in detail
