First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesn’t matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map

@hasty silo If your scav goal is to make $ and you get loot and make $ who cares about run through...especially on a scav. Scav XP doesn't translate to PMC so it's meaningless.

It's a fine decision to kill AI scavs for their gear if you want it (backpack usually), sometimes PvP finds you or just looting a lot of items will give you enough to get a not run-thru

@coral trail Gear is cheap. You don't need much to have a decent kit and work on tasks/develop in-game skills and gameskill. A kit with a viable weapon, backpack and minimal meds could cost ~<60k

Scavving on reserve never goes good for me, I never find anything good and juiced guys everywhere, but shoreline cache runs sometimes aren't even worth the time spent doing them, so whats another efficient map to scav on? When I have a decent armor/weapon I go custom to loot bodies and maybe kill a person or two and sometimes it works but its unreliable
