i legit got only a pistol no bag and only a scav rig
i looted all of what i got and killed 3 scavs
Nice man, keep it going. π
Focus on quests, if you aren't comfortable PMC'ing request a sherpa, all info can be found in #sherpa-info
wtf is a sherpa
Hi
So I been playing EFT for 3 days now and my entire stash is completely full. Apparently I have 1.7 million worth of stuff. I have utilized stacking of backpacks and rigs to the best of my ability. Now the problem is I can't sell anything on the flea market (LV4 here) and I can't do scav runs either cuz I can't depo the stuff.. What should I do?
@devout forum a sherpa is someone who volunteers to help new players. Usually they are quite experienced in the game
If you want some pointers, you can request them from the EFT website
They are usually flooded with requests I think, I've been waiting 2 days now for my sherpa XD
i would rather do stuff myself tbh
Doing everything solo is actually the best way to learning the game
yea i figured
@analog wraith I can help you if you wanna hop in a VC?
I'll take a look π
@devout forum I was in the same mindset tbh, my personal sherpa has reallllly helped me, telling me loot spawns, even if I just screenshare and he shows me where to go, teaches me extracts, it's fine looking at a map if that works for you. It's each persons opinion really, my experience with sherpas has been really good. π
Sure thing
DuoEcho @analog wraith
how much time do you have to get out after the time is up
@shrewd bobcat you think you could also help another?
is anyone up for helping a new player on customs?
I understand now that many of my deaths are related to using scopes that I don't find comfortable and too much sensitivity when scoped in, I really need to find some images of all the scopes and how they look when ads
@quartz tangle Give me 5 my man! π
!ammo
whats confusing about it? Look to the right side, it tells you if the ammo is good vs. each armor class 1-6
theres just a better chart i saw
that showed like 4 ammos
for each gun
and which to use for budget semi budget blah blah
i want it for a friend who wants to try all sorts of diff guns, i use 1 gun
he keeps asking me for ammo
how do you know what level your armour is?
@wet moss he'll be better off in the long-run just learning the games mechanics. Tell him to right click his favorite weapons and click "linked search". it will take him to the flea market and he can select "ammo" on the left. This will show him each specific ammo that is available to that weapon. He can then use the chart to see which of those he should be using, at the very least choose something effective against lvl 3 armor. If he cant be bothered by the above chart or my advice then tell him to just youtube "jdog the wise". He recently did a great video on which ammo is the best overall and which is budget for each weapon, good luck.
Eh eh eh
i dnt hqve anything left on my pmc lol π¦
looking to get in a call with someone who can help show me around and what to do
Maybe checkout the sherpas
how do i get in contact with one
what maps can you find NATO weapons on?
Hello @slim quest,
In the Escape from Tarkov Official server, you can ask for <@&521614335945080832> to come and give you assistance with Escape from Tarkov.
You can ask for in game help, help on modding you weapons, assistance to do quests... sherpas are here to help.
You can also request sherpas on the main Escape from Tarkov website.

Thank you, and good luck in Escape from Tarkov.
@tough elk
thx
np
how's your cash looking jurr
relatively low
so i send a request to get help with certain questions or can i get in a call with them
you can flea market or get from traders but it'll be pricy to constantly run the loadouts
@tough elk on the sherpa page, at the bottom is an option to create a sherpa request. You can create a request, set time frame, set loadout, language, and communication method
then they get in contact with you
loadouts are in the pins
ok
so you have to get a loadout and make a time to play with one?
you make time, they send a loadout for the sherpa session
ok
wanna make a goal to set myself towards, and also im a big fan of most US weapons
so idk about finding weapons in maps, not sure the spawns
if you are low on funds, I'd start with a cheap easy loadout
for example I run vepr km 136 for cheap runs
Vepr is probably the best budget starter gun
once you get comfortable with it, you can use some of the maps on the wiki that show weapon crates and try to loot those safely
might find them there but you also might find a decent amount of pmc
where are the raiders on reserve ?
Pretty sure they spawn in when hermetic is opened
Thanks for the help!
np, feel free to ask stuff here later if you need more help
Is there any point in trying to hit 300+ meter shots with an AR or is the accuracy gonna deviate too much?
Which AK is considered good without spending so much on it ?
@clear stag you can try, but with bullet drop and accuracy I imagine it would be tough
What's that circle laser called again? The one that doesn't have a visible laser
The IR not IR search light
@sullen kindle 74N can be built fairly cheap
however, there's an M4 variant you can also get for pretty cheap, with LL2 mechanic
I'll look them up thanks
I just want an improvement from verp wanted to try some AK
the mechanic sells the Ak-101 one
has good ammo selection
pricy ammo but still
885a1 is great for most things and 995 does great if you ignore paying 1300 a bullet
i was going for the cheaper stuff
cause im still noobish just trying to hunt scavs
@quartz tangle Can hop in a call w you in a minute
Why the fuck do people spawn in so close to one another?
855a1 will drop class 4 armor which is common for budget
995 drops up to class 6 so it's great
@young void which map
Aren't 7.62 bullets cheaper or am I wrong ? Compared to the others
I spawned in, ran for 20 seconds. Saw 2 players spawning in and just instantly shot them as they spawned.
I wasn't late to raid, time was like 44:37 or something
it then happened a second time where I spawn in, run a bit and then get melted by a 3 man spawning in
You will be surprised how many people know spawn locations and just look at it at the beginning just for that purpose
@sullen kindle depends which gun, I know nato rounds are kinda pricy
tbh I don't know much about spawns
usually I play slow and don't rush major things cause I know better players are doing that
I didnt even rush anything, I was just running around when I just watched them spawn in
earlier i got a weapon case from customs and jumped from third story to land on the fence and take the car to evac because of so much action.. we paid for the car and waited and with 1 second left my buddy died and i was gettin shot at
like, 5 feet in front of me
I can't find a map of reserve spawns, otherwise I'd say try to recognize where people spawn in and avoid those zones at the start
@wet moss what do you mean pay for car
late starts happen from what I understand and it's better to not be where they could spawn
on customs as pmc dorms sometimes has an evac right next to third story
if the car is there, its open and u pay 7k and wait 1 minute and it drives off
oof 1 min
ya but
must feel like forever at dorms
u can hide near the car
u just gotta get there before it goes off
so u pay and run away and prone
and just spam oo
and watch the time
and then get back to the car with 5 seconds remaining easy peasy
might have to keep 7k in docs case when I run that
I prefer not to cause the cap is 200k in raid
if u do it from the finding game menu and not ur stash
That's why you insure all your kits before you load your docs case
ya ur not finding 50k
I just insure my kits as I buy them up
That way I already spend the money on it
So I factor it into the cost
^
too many clicks
helps when you broke tho
If you load the whole kit into a backpack
right click, insure, choose insurance or stick with prapor, insure.. next item
not everyone be finding weapon cases all the time lol
what gun you run
vep
Where'd you find a weapons case? Marked room?
shit, you run vepr 136 and survive dorms?
I'm a scrub
go out on roof and boom jump down to gate and out u go
Hey π I wanted to know if i could play with someone that choosed Bear even if i'm usec :x
@final tendon yes you can
as of this patch, no
I saw they had skills like Ak spec or AR spec :/
The biggest difference is appearance, and the second biggest is your dude's language of choice
it's planned to have faction skills from what i understand
gettin in there before others
Like, I'm BEAR and my dude always pops off in russian when I taunt
Okay π
Lemon: Anytime I rush dorms I always get beat there, even if I have the close spawn. It's bonkers
The +sprint speed from strength training seems a little OP
Teach me your ways
One more question : Any tips or things i should do before jumping in my first raid ? i thought about going offline to explore the map , take any quest available ..
lol must be getting lucky
LFG brand new to wipe have played in previous wipews but first time back in like a year and a bit
Elluth: Playing offline to learn maps is huge
I also saw one guy examine a lot of stuff in shop but didnt know if it was important or pricey
@final tendon tips from a noob:
play offline, learn extracts, learn scav spawns
try to extract a few times offline so you know how to navigate
examine is free xp
Okay π
Biggest tips I could have to give would have to be:
- Practice with a specific gun. Get comfortable with it. That'll be your 'standard carry'. It should be cheap and decent
- Ammo matters a lot
- Play offline like you've been doing to learn extracts and don't be afraid to ask people to run with you from here
but the more you learn, the better it gets
70% of tarkov is research and learning stuff. 30% is practice and execution.
Got it π
at the start, a mosin with lps is pretty solid if you are okay with bolt action
I can't remember what the starter guns are tbh
I'd say the first like 30 hours is
Vepr KM with PS is okay too. BP is better, but stupid expensive early.
well
50 percent research 50 percent reflecting on what u could of done different
What Leris said should be copy and pasted to every new player π
Oh, that's right.
I dont mind using a mosin or even a shotgun
Thanks Jude <3 Just trying to help folks
Atleast something that i could use if i'm already "decent" at aiming in general
@final tendon fast track to level 5 is examine all shops and fence, then do a few runs with mosin or what not to get some scav kills
Shotguns can shred. You just have to be ready to eat it to people with high tier armor if you run into them
oh and avoid the fuck out of factory
Once you hit level 5 you get access to the flea market, which is this game's trading system
why not factory ?
factory is a money sink
It's a really small map where people just go to deathmatch
customs is good if you want to hit missions
interchange is good loot runs if you learn the map
and shore is pretty low traffic if you avoid resort
@slim quest I disagree with that statement but you know each to their own.
its a fun deathmatch mode
Actually getting loot OUT of factory is difficult.
@shrewd bobcat if you mean my factory comment, tbh most new players shouldn't try factory till they get a grip on the game
factory is a really easy place to die
I've literally just sherpa'd someone to do their starting quests in factory lol π
true, but how good are you at it
How long does a wipe last* btw ?
wipe is probably 5 months from now
from what i hear 5 months away
Elluth: Depends. Wipes have been a few months in the past, but I think this one's running a bit long, about 5 months from now.
DOn't need to be, spawn, run to extract, if we die what do we lose? We're not taking anything in. If we get to extract? Drop items he needs, leave.
People factory for the pvp, customs is better since starting quests are there too
So i should prepare to have my progress erased in a few month ?
Customs is where geared players go to to hunt new players.
I think for total newbies, customs/interchange are probably the two I'd recommend
Customs because you need quests, and interchange for loot runs
But outside of quests I avoid customs like the plague
Like Jude said, customs is where sweaty boys go to hunt newbros
ive been enjoying doing my scav runs on reserve as a new player i feel like i can get loot and not run into alot people if i avoid the hightraffic areas
I can send a clip of what you find in customs if you want π
I'm still stuck on the stupid 'kill 15 customs scavs' quests on customs because I just...don't play the map
But interchange? You can go in with just a shitty BP and come out with 1m EASILY
Well all depends on luck
^
I could go to interchange, suicide run into the back of OLI, take a few scavs with me on the way out...and easily make more than most of my customs runs
interchange has good loot density and it's not hard to avoid people in the mall
ive been doing some interchange also
https://streamable.com/2gjlp Skip to like 35 seconds in
This is my customs raids in a nutshell lol
Yes interchange is better than customs but everyone has to do customs for the quests
True, but why not make money before going to do those quests? Quests are harder without gear and you're not being forced to level, maybe to 5 which i feel is like the initial hurdle to get Flea but after that? interchange all the way lol
5 is easy to hit, but levels after matter for saving money
leveling vendors will save on some gun modding
I'm trying to hit 15 right now for LV2 traders
Also you need traders up to get hideout stuff
I just hit lvl5. Any reccs on what I should focus on doing atm?
Therapist 2 for Medstation 2 > Making IFAK kits for yourself
^
Mechanic 2 into Workbench 2 for...whatever the hell that gets you, I can't remember
snek what guns you use
don't use sks
@vague mulch At level 5, I'd say you should start exploring guns on the flea market.
Find yourself something cheap, find a reliable armor, a nice rig, bag, etc
Build a standardized kit, practice with it.
Yeah that's what I've been doing. But I'm not too sure what to use
mosin is good, another good one is vepr km 136 if you don't want bolt action
Try out the Vepr KM
ps if you are avoiding pmc, and bp if you plan to fight some armor
My friend has been shilling me the vepr
It's basically a single fire ak-style rifle. Very cheap and can bop nerds
adar is pretty cheap
ADAR is cheap, but the ammo is bonkers expensive
adar isn't bad but ammo runs 8-900 for 855a1
Also people will loot your ADAR for some reason
lol
some pieces market well on adar
Lul
cause works with m4
Vepr is good for onetaps is what I heard
Yep
Yeah, maybe I'll get some
you can do a 20k modded setup too with reflex
I also got a pretty kitted out ak and akm from reserve
^
@slim quest which wep?
Practice and ammo matter so much more than fancy mods.
I have no clue what weapon that is π
Fancy modded 'god guns' are just gonna get you killed and fill someone else's pockets.
Flea or to mechanic?
dissasemble
^
Alright. Thanks for the advice!
also check skier and mechanic for prices
Yeap
Well again , thank you guys for the help π I'm going to find a setting guide & go into offline mode when i'm finished researching all that junk in shop :x
if flea is around same price sell to trader
For the vepr all I'll be getting for it is optics. Is that alright?
@final tendon If you'd like, we can run together sometime
@bold kernel are you level 5
Hi! I had two tetriz selling at the marketplace i removed the order to change the price. but tetriz were not returned to me. i dont have them i dont have the message to recive them, i lose the items if i remove my own offer ?
@slim quest Yea
@vague mulch so I think you can get like a bastion cover and pk-06 or something like that for it
@ember prism Try restarting your game. Sometimes the market is screwy. Otherwise just wait a bit. Sometimes it takes 5 mins to actually return it
@next zephyr With pleasure π
someone with the game up can better identify a cheap setup
@bold kernel check flea market and search for vepr km
should be the 136 version and runs 15k a gun
About 16.9k right now
Alright will do! Thanks man!
@ember prism you can trade tetriz for bitcoin which is like 139k to therapist
But if you sit and refresh a bit it'll come down
Sweet. I think I got a bastion cover atm somewhere in my inventory
@next zephyr restarting!
ps ammo is okay but you should avoid pmc if you use it, bp ammo helps for armored boys
@naive atlas oooh lol... gonna do that
aim for the head ideally and profit from one/two taps
What's a good round for the vepr?
thought bitcoins only worked to buy ns guns
@vague mulch either PS and go for scav kills, or BP for PMCs
Nah sell them to therapist
PS can work on PMCs but it takes a lot more shots
ps if budget and avoiding pmc fights, but ideally BP ammo is the good choice
BP is stupid expensive
or green tracers with high fire rate to make other people shit them self
400 I think last I checked
isnt bp ammo like 1,3k?
About 840 rn
gamepedia tarkov page, ballistic sections
you got a graph wityh the best bullets to use
In my alpha container I usually take a splint, painkillers and an army bandage and a cheesekit. Should I swap out the cheese for a ifak or both the bandage and the cheese for a salewa
so you have two options
I usually just risk the meds and get loot to cover it
Hey other question im fairly new to the game
carry 1 of each med and swap out as you get loot
3-4 days actually
or start with meds out of case
Hmm, alright. Tks
course you could not bring meds but it's not exactly the best way to live
where's the good loot on reserve ?
Anything i use in offline is lost or i can freely use my ammo ?
@ember prism ask away
Watch the guides. And do a few offlines
@final tendon you won't lose or gain anything offline
That's how I learnt
Okay , thanks again π
np
im in love with the game, almost 90% of my pmc runs are just a pistol and some magazines. thats it, no armor, no helmet no backpack, i extract 50% of the times, it is a good strat to do it, till i get some good gear or learn the basic mechanics in order to pop in Labs?
I'm saving up to get some reserve keys now
@ember prism I wouldn't shoot for labs, to be honest.
@ember prism if pistol runs are working then they are fine
Labs is thicc boi zone
labs is avoid for now
Pistol runs are a legit thing, but honestly, labs are...not a good goal in this game.
get to the point where you are rocking 50m net worth before you really think about labs
It costs a LOT to enter, and is basically just full of max geared 5-mans
cause labs is 200k an entry, and no insurance works
sv-98 can 1 tap even with the max lvl gear helmet?
With the right ammo, yes.
lol every time I do interchange I die
you doing better than me
how much money you managed to get?
loot runs
But I HATE how many people ex-camp on it.
sounds like you have the combat down
with a pistol
sometimes are maniacs camping my loot place
earth like 150-400k ish per run
lol
starts 4 days ago, earns more than I've made in 2 weeks
so reset my old acc(2 days old) and gave it to my cousin
what I meant by upgrade, is your loadout
Well ive been watching a lot of tarkov lately
pistol runs still fine, but you can start making a modded rifle in the 20-40k area
cause worst case you lose a few modded guns
I usually run non-modded VEPR KMs
and you can easy just pistol run interchange and make the money back
Costs 2x a pistol run...but can do long distance taps easily
Does the veprkm use 366?
366tkm i think so yeah
Erk
Leris honestly the advice given is different based on player
Have bad experiences with that gun
um what vepr
The 366 one
give me the full name
The one that looks like an ak
Actually maybe it's the vpo
i dunno what acceptable means for each one
Beh, too many guns to rmb
Yeah
im used to big kicks (recoil wise) so an AK with V.recoil of 80 is pretty 0 recoil to me
Prob the 209
@ember prism tbh I wish I was more knowledgeable on the ak front
Does ak-74 count towards the punisher first quest that requires to kill scav with akm series ?
as of right now I can't really recommend a specific ak type besides maybe the ak-74s
Same
lmao
We can die together
I just know a lot of the stuff from wiki and entry guns
!wiki The Punisher - part 1
but also it's 2am and I'm working on some code lol
Live for the loot. Die for the loot
I do shore cache runs tbh
Haha, hmu anytime. Cooking dinner atm
less money but safer for me
I usually scav on reserve to make money. And pmc on interchange and customs
@sullen kindle AKM,Β AKMN,Β AKMS,Β AKMSN
unless you sprint like a madman, scav shore is just easy walking
To answer your question, no
Thanks , I never looked up the akm series anything you would recommend let's say for shoreline @mighty jasper ?
Personally I used the classic AKM, with pretty budget mods and level 4 armor
Wouldn't recommend going budget all the way unless you know the map well and can manouver around hotspots with ease
For me Shoreline is a weakspot as the map had a lot of long/close range combat, but it really falls down to you
A guy named Pirannah(I think) has a good video on the questline, check him out for further info
π
On reserve. What's the best way to exit if you have 5 min left in raid? The train doesn't come at that time yea?
where do u get the lucky scav junkbox besides flea market?
nah thats the scav cas ei think
LVL 2 therapist
how much does she sell it for
Sells junkbox. 1.25?
damn probably worth tbh
1.4m
I'm standard player and I bought it. Its full of shit nownlol
Did the stash upgrade through hideout too
same, i have 3.8m rn not sure if i should get it from flea
1.45-1.5m
if you can nab it for close to 1.4 off flea, it's basically 50-100k in convenience fees
just depends how bad you need the space
i have 9 spaces in my stash lol
lol
i just need to find someone good at the game to carry me thru raids to learn from lol
cuz i know the basics, but for whatever reason i cant seem to ever win a gun fight and my map knowledge is not too good
offline mode
two ways it can help, no ai for just learning your way around the map
and horde ai mode to make you learn fighting
bosses as well if you feel like risking it
just bring guns you would normally use
Right lads, I'm wealthy enough to move up from Ratnik helmets, what shall I go for? Have around 8M rn
no point practicing offline with a decked out m4 and 995 ammo if you can't afford to run that online
my go to weapon is a op-sks, modded costs me about 130kish
idk how those are, what ammo you use
PS
bp gonna be the better round for armor from what I see
i heard there was a green store on interchange second floor with good stuff inside but i cant find it
like what
what's a cheap but viable gun to run with on loot runs when you'd rather be able to protect yourself
@vernal cosmos people swear by the 7.62 vepr
mosin is cheap and can 1-2 hit most people
mosin if you don't mind bolt action, 7n1 ammo I believe
m1a for m80 rounds, won't handle class 6 but ammo isn't super pricy last I checked @echo cypress
7N1 is a beautyyyy
hmm
m1a unmodded will be like 50k on flea, scope might add a bit
adar honestly might not be bad modded, but ammo is 800-900 a round for 855a1, 995 runs 1300 a round
so cheaper gun but ammo ramps up cost
yeah vepr is go to budget gun for a lot
vepr is budget strong gun
Do raiders spawn naturally or only from lever/train on reserve?
scavs can spawn at any time
@woeful cairn only from the latter
Ye thought so.. just got destroyed by raiders but didnt hear lever π€
@woeful cairn unless boss scav spawned.. Then he's got 4 raiders
why do ppl get scared when the lever is pulled
raiders are scary scavs
im level ten and have been playing mostly on customs should i just be selling everything that i come across or keep some stuff is money my ultimate goal right now? i keep finding myself running out of room in my stash from all of the crap i bring back from my scav runs and when i make it out as my pmc
Was at marked room near train station
level 8 and I got told VPO-136 with some mods is good for beginners. is this accurate information?
Can you even hear the alarm everywhere on the map?
Vpo doesnt go through any armor
Do I need to kill 10 scavs as a pms from 50m on jeagers task?
@fathom osprey leveling traders is the I ultimate goal.. As well as tasks
Only way to kill is to shoot in the face really.. unless they have visors
really? then what would be a good gun? I usually like auto firing guns, but they are not really accurate without expensive modding it seems
Imo semis are the best if going for an unmodded weapon
ive been trying to do tasks but im stuck on prapors find a gilded lighter and skiers kill 5 pmcs with pistols
Sks, hunter, vepr..
with a vepr you just strap on a reflex and get 3 mags with budget ammo
which vepr? hunter?
ye
is it worth storing graphics card sinstead of selling them and trying to setup bitcoin farm
I feel like whenever I try to use a gun like this, I get sprayed onto death before I can fire two bullets
I guess I'm misusing it, then
@rotund sand then stop engaging close range
I'm usually just trying to avoid people, so there is that
@rotund sand and then you run into others tryna avoid people... So take the main route and you'll probably see less people
haha, well, this probably is a viable strat for me. I'm no FPS player, so any contact avoided is for the better
@vernal cosmos You kinda answered your own question. That's the usually option. If you are saving for a task/hideout t hen store them in your Lucky Scav Junk box. If not then sell
alright
Anyone willing to help a new play? Been playing for about 2 weeks and some pointers would be nice.
anyone down for a few runs ? total noob here just wanting to find a good group to run with and learn a few new things. Currently level 4 and in NA.
@waxen forge depends how far along your hideout is
No depends on your plans
I started collecting day 1 for both tasks and Hideout as I always do.
Then I had the items.
Eh i guess
I personally wouldnt bother saving stuff like graphics cards until i was further along whereas stuff like bulbs or whatever i would save
But hey
In standard edition so stash space is liquid gold
Unless you have 1 or 2 junk boxes.
You aren't wrong and it's personal choice
But ultimately it comes down to what you want to do.
I have always started collecting task items day 1 (and I played on standard for 6 months).
Then I can just hand them in
Presumably that comes down to experience and knowledge/skill. If you're new you're dying a lot so you need the liquid cash for loadouts more than someone with higher survival rate
Stayed with the same plan when Hideouts came out but had to have 2 junk boxes to do it.
Unless you learn how to make money early...then cash isn't hard
Got the cash just haven't got around to it
That's why I always try to teach the new guys how to make money. When you can pull in 200-400K per run on interchange it doesn't become such a concern.;
That's a good point... should probably learn a money run soon lol
Biggest tip. Go to a map that actually spawns loot
people who "money run" factory make no sense.
No loot spawns on the map
Aside from the odd statue
Only loot is what you pull from dead guys and that is based on what they bring in
Interchange is great for loot
BUT value per slot is not in favor of rigs/armor/weapons when compared to tech/hardware
from testing on offline, interchange doesn't seem too easy to find my way in
The value per slot is just not there for rigs/armor/weapons.
If you fill up a bag with that you are losing $
Interchange has 3 main entrances in the front
And 2 in the back...can go in Oli back entrance or Idea back entrance.
And can come from parking lot
Then front of mall can go in Oli, Idea, or main entrance
Then there are ways to get inside through parking.
Yeah interchange is super confusing to try and learn but honestly after a few runs its simple to navigate especially if you have a run to do
It's honestly an easy map once it's click in.
from what little offline testing I did
It's just a big rectangular mall.
reserve seems to be the easiest map
@rotund sand reserve has conditional exits though (mostly) while interchange has 2.
yeah I was just pertaining to navigation
Reserve is not a bad loot map though
Interchange has a bit more
By nature of being a mall
my direction telling skills are not that of an average human
how do you jump very fast forward with a long distance?
Reserve is just weird for runs due to the extracts, high intensity of combat, geared players, scav raiders etc
I spent 4 hours playing offline with no pve to learn the extracts in reserve
Whereas interchange is fairly simple
High strength skill
@waxen forge its only that?
Yeh
Strength helps jump strength
so if I do double the amount, maybe I can learn interchange
Guess people can just walk through a nade like its a little rock..

i mean like this
1:06 ->
does he just have high str?
Just run it offline for awhile. Try to remember it's a mall. Oli (green store) on one end. Idea (blue/yellow) on the other.
They have main halls from them that go to the middle Main Councourse hallway.
Are you using a map to learn the layout?
Then a back middle store we call Goshan
I am, but only in offline runs
Rest of it is just other stores along the way to the end stores.
because I don't have a second monitor
offline mode makes player weak
Not true
i have never tried offline
For totally noobs offline is valuable
Its good for practice too though
they start thinking scavs will be a joke and there will be an arrow telling them where to go.
Offline lets them learn to fight scavs, find exits, and learn spawn points for scavs and loot.
could anyone one teach me the game
i learn maps by gripping my sweaty mouse
@clever minnow this
@grand knoll First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesnβt matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.

So I've put together a list of tips and useful information for people who are either starting out on EFT or are just looking to refine their skills.
Time Stamps
0:30 - Learn via Offline Mode
1:53 - Learning Maps + Player Counts
4:03 - Insurance
6:05 - Medical System
10:50 - ...
I don't even enable AI in my offline runs
because that beats the purpose of offline run for me
thanks
Nah having scavs online is good
Allows you to get practice fighting them
Learn how they work
Also lets you know their spawns
And stuff to avoid
I.e killa
yeah but dying and having to reset fast is not teaching anything for a noob
@rotund sand Teaches you how you died to the SCAV - so at the least it tells you where they spawn
I didn't use offline to learn but that was 2 years ago.
I personally used scav runs alot
Offline is a good resource for new people especially those who come in from watching streams and who assume they will jump right in and do as Shroud does or how they do in COD.
So i could loot shoot and learn
first I need to overcome my scav fear
Offline will teach them that scavs are not jokes especially early on.
Scav fear?
Offline will allow them to fight scavs and learn the maps without being the people who come here with 1,000 rubles and no gear.
Hehe
IF you don't want to do offlilne fine. But don't tell the new people that it will hurt your or is terrible.
i just have bad luck lol everytime i get 1 shot from nowhere lol. it dosnt help that im half blind
@rotund sand Go offline with some armor into any map with normal scavs - run up to their spawns and then dont shoot them and see how often they hit you - after you see how poor shots most of them are - you are cured ;P
my fear is mostly about being seen/detected and not being able to tell where they are
obviously happens with actual players, but they just kill me insta anyways lol
That comes with practice
Its fairly simple to tell as soon they see you they shout loudly
No replacement for practice
Also yeh practice makes it much easier
I can at least do scav runs without as much fear now
Are the scav spawn locations the same offline as they are online?
Roughly the same i think
@grizzled fjord yes - you check you want SCAVs "as online"
this game is really not easy to get into for a person who has never been an FPS gamer
Online has a few variations since scavs are usually spread out more since they hunt players
Gonna try that to learn the other maps then, thanks. So far I've been learning customs scavs by getting clapped lol
"Oh there's a spawn there" and check next raid
Tbh you'll get further with knowledge and time than you will with raw fps skill
@grizzled fjord just be aware that SCAVs don't always spawn on each spawn - sometimes you can get an empty spawn (same in normal matches)
As plenty streamers have proven
ah I meant more along the lines of being accustomed to gunfights in general
Yea, I'm aware of that tireo but it takes a second to check and 5 minutes to get back into a raid :D
someone can fire a round in factory and I'll fire my gun in the underground tunnels in reaction
Marco
The jump scare fades with time
@rotund sand only experience helps with that - basically you need to level up your personal (NOT PMC ;P) stress resistance ;P
@rotund sand i would totally recommend watching some YouTube videos by a guy called Krashed. He does a breakdown series on tarkov where he breaks down his own fights and shows what he did right, wrong and how to improve. Invaluable to someone not accustomed to fps games since its not all just aim
by the way, I bought the game in 2018 and have a total of like 50 raids, I think
though this wipe is by far the one I played the most
@cloud glacier I'm actually learning a bit to tell that someone is not firing at me just because I'm hearing it p:
@honest tusk will check out his channel, thanks. I usually watch streamers play, though not all for the sake of learning and all
Streamers are fun to watch but clearly isnt the best way to learn. Though they can give you some odd tips etc
But the real value is people like pestily
And other "learn" tarkov channels
Yea watch the old tarkov streamers
hows everyone today.
Watch Pestily although his style should not be copied right away
Watch DeadlySlob and markstrom
Klean
bro i almost just killed killa naked with a vepr km
he went into a gltich spot let me shoot him 18 times then bum rushed me and killed me with like 10hp left or something im sure
I don't think I watched Pestily as much, though I know of some of his tutorial like videos
sks please
Sks gang rise up
if i only had an sks i woulda killed killa... #teamsks

Only with bp :P
pssh
i had bp in my vepr lol
i killed glukar and killa with T45M
at first i was like im dead, then i was like shit hes glitched
even reshala
then i was like yea fuck im dead but i did 400 dmg
but i died to Shurtman when trying to do that meme
Shurtman doesnt appreciate that
also, should I try pistol runs for customs quests
You can
I died many times with a pistol trying to do a Skier document quest, then got some armor and went in, but got out without any gunfight
But you won't take out any PMC reliably and will struggle with some scavs due to range
I am personally against pistol runs because i like to be able to defend myself
But they can work for some quests
Take an SKS with a OKP-7 (with dovetail) or a 7.62 vepr
I know dorms is crowded and I need to go there for pocket watch and hidden water
Pocket watch isnt in dorms
You can just buy machinery key for the watch and not need to go to dorms then
^
oh I can buy that key?
However for water you will need to go to 2 story
did not know that part
Tbh 2 story is usually fairly empty
Yea the water can be a quick in and out.
Either go there before people get there or after its all been looted
Go in the north door (by wall) and get to the water t hen right back out.
I need someone like a SHerpa
I guess I'll try doing it with the VPO-136 I got now
Just as an example of what you can make on Interchange. Just did a scav run. Had an MBSS and a wt rig. Killed 1 scav for his weapon. He was alone. Looted Oli. Came out with 342K
Oli and tech stores are bank
if I could learn how to move reliably, I'd try this, I guess
That's why I preach it every day
whats a good scope for a vepr hunter with m61 ammo?
Okp 7
i have a hamr on it right now but want something with a bit more zoom
thank you
Valday then
is there a way to put back up sights on as well or just bring my trusty 5-7
Save the hamr for something better than a vepr
If you already have the rail for the HAMR then the valday is 1-6 zoom
Yeh the valday sights are great
geez the valday is more expensive than the hamr lol
Hamr is around 450 US $...Valday is about 50K.
oh i always buy in rubles that might be my issue lol
so backup sights or pistol?
1x valday for close
If running the valday dont really need them
ok
Is it worth trying woods nighttime for the range or wld there only be more thermalbois?
For the quest ^
doing my first slightly kitted solo run been fighting and looting raiders and guards and scav boss solo as scav but havent done it as pmc yet solo
only done it as a team lol so im stoked
Hey if you can do it scav you can do it pmc
Use their ai at your advantage
yeah thats what i do
i kite them to the red brick building and murder them inside
once i did it with a crappy 366 ak so im comfortable now lol
Just gotta be more wary of other pmcs when you raid as pmc
Since they will spawn near you
yeah thats my biggest fear
usually when i run pmc solo i go almost naked just a cheap gun and cheap kit and just try and money run
lel just gave 2 usb drive to skier for quest and he took it but quest didn't count them
im almost thinking if i hunker down for the first 15-20 and then go for the raiders and scav boss i should be ok
nice
Log off/on
kill 5 in woods without healing task do i have to extract ?
I think I'll try offline Interchange again
last time I did, I ran three laps around the whole map and couldn't extract
is there any fix to a weapon window beeing there permanently without beeing able to press x
i just died to it
cause i couldnt get rid of it in raid
and only went away when i restarted
@wispy finch Never had it. I take it pressing ESC did not help? Best to report it via the launcher
ye
something similar happened to me when I inspected a gun in my inventory and couldn't get rid of the window
had to restart myself too
must be very unlucky to happen in raid
got killed by a shotgun scav cause i couldnt see shit
are you at least able to move it around? maybe you can move it so only small part of it is on the screen ?
in my experience, I couldn't move it either, but that might differ in-raid
I guess hugging walls to an extract and repositioning the window so that its wall-side all the time? honestly don't know if its doable though
I'd assume you just take what you can in your secure container... and assume that everything else is lost as you try to reach the exit
do i neet to kill 5 scav using the MP-133?
@zealous compass any scavs
as a PMC?
Yes
i need to extract to finish the quest
or if kill 3 guys more and die dont count?
only kills
Dont need to extract i dont think
@zealous compass Don't think you need to extract with this one - just kill them even if you die
Nah, kills are kills.
What magazines fit in a TT?
I had to be level 5 and buy the shotguns from flea market to complete this quest, was painful
I remember doing it in a previous wipe and felt easier to find them
asked my friend and he said its because scavs can spawn with various guns now
@bold kernel right click linked search
I guess I got "better" at not losing myself over running into a scav, but I still seem to take so much damage from them. probably need to kill them faster to begin with
Why is my friend request not going trhu is anyone else having the same problem???
@rotund sand try to keep ur distance, the closer u are the more likely they are to hit their first shot
also don't sprint around, so they don't hear u
@rotund sand are you a viet ?
Other than that if u know where they are cuz they are really loud, prefire around corners
@vale arrow if they spot me, should I stay after finding a cover and wait for them to move instead, then?
@fickle kettle a viet? what does it mean?
vietnamese
huh π€
Yeah u can wait for them to push u or change position but never repeek the same angle
ive had no problem repeaking but mind you i peak again and they die
right, that should help with some scav issues I have
but prepare to be blasted across the map every now and then it's just how it is sometimes
thanks a lot
what are the differences between headphones again?
just read
@past lodge just inspect the headphone and read
Veritas has a video on them, I just know because I searched it up myself
interesting video, so I'd recommend, a rather scientific approach
what exactly did i do wrong here
or what could i have done to improve my chances of survival/killing him
4 sec ?
It was fast. He saw you first it seemed
ummm
By the time you even tried to fire he was firing
Kinda hard to judge without seeing what you did in the moments before. Listen more maybe.
is this interchange?
If you came up the escalator then you made noise and he heard you. Could have stopped at the top and waited and listened to see if you heard footsteps or an ADS.
Otherwise need more info.
hm.. honestly couldnt hear him, i guess i have an issue of hesitating before shooting
cause i couldve gotten first shots
He was shooting almost as soon as your turned to see him
are you PMC ?
I'm guessing he heard you and you didn't hear him
also im using a surround sound option on my logitech software, wondering if its worth keeping on or not.
den why you hesitated
idek honestly.. ik i shouldnt but i just do i get stressed for some reason
that'll go away after a while
i just got on avi..
lol hilarious how this always comes back with insurance
i guess people odnt want the 40k sight?
just to be sure : we dont loose the alpha container if we die , right ?
if it was me, it'd be because I'd second guess myself if I could land my shots
Okay , great π
whatever is in it doesnt go away either.
@final tendon Also don't lose melee weapon.
imagine it as if ur swallowing whatever it is thats in ur alpha and when u go back to main menu u let it out..
Based on your question please accept my rookie advice @final tendon First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.

and i'ts working , don't worry π
@waxen forge Thanks mate , and don't worry : My body is ready for anything coming to me π
saw the Interchange advice so many times in a row now I feel I need that offline run
One question... if I play Offile agaisnt PVE, I don't get experience in my PMC soldier?
NO
no, you don't
Offline is NO gain.. NO loss
So, the only way of leveling up in my PMC soldier is playing with my soldier ?
yes
Is it a bad idea to go with a decked out val, killa armor and ssh?

thats a
@bold kernel Your call
pretty heavy loadout
I just play as Scav, but no experience π
Killa armor is good.
But a weak helmet?
weak? π
Isn't ssh queite weak?
It's fine
Kk
oh
class 4 with high ricochet. Believe class 4 anyways
if I go in with a VPO-136 or Hunter, what would be the armor to choose
Class 3
so that it is balanced
I prefer the 6b47 for a cheaper helmet for the ear coverage.
Yea 6b47 is fine
I wouldn't bring armor for a vpo tbh, .366 sucks
three different VPO rifles.. VPO-136 is actually decent in 7.62x39
Oh ok
The 136 is a 7.62 weapon
when agun recoils does it still hit where the iron sights show?
Ah i was thinking bout the vpo 215
