A lot of the upgrades in the hideout require other parts of the hideout to be upgraded, so just upgrade as you go. You will be forced to upgrade specific parts.

customs is great when you know where the loot is. many jackets, many close by hidden staches, and its not as confusing as interchange. i know there are more exits but with a map you are good to go for customs. even as a beginner cuz you have quests there. its the smallest map, factoty excluded, therefor its the best to learn at first

The fact that playing this game requires you to use a third party site for maps is one of my biggest complaints tbh

the in game maps are trash

shouldnt have to rely on things outside the game to play the game

You can learn the maps without 3rd party maps. You can wander around and see what is where and remember those things and after time you will learn it....kinda how we learned shit back in the 80's

offline mod was a waste of time for me, I find it much easier following a map

First thing to do is RESET EXPECTATIONS. Doesn’t matter how much or how well you do in other shooters. This is a knowledge game. You will die and die due to lack of experience not gear. Experience. It will require persistence and commitment. You need to learn maps, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what is good vs. bad ammo. Practice OFFLINE mode, with scavs on, at Customs. Try to make it from spawn to exit 10 times. IF you can do this 50% of the time then you are ready for online. Meanwhile use your scav at Interchange to get loot and learn the map.
