The main point of the message is that it's a knowledge game and what new people are lacking that gets them killed so often is the knowledge and experience. You are not dying to gear or whatever. You are dying because you put yourself into bad positions. That part can be overcome with time and effort. You will learn the maps. You will learn what to loot, what to sell, what to keep, ammo to use, and where to expect people.

Also the argument that you cannot do tasks because you are low level is not valid. I reset myself last wipe because it was 9 months between wipes. So here I am a level 1 doing tasks with crap gear against all the boys who didn't reset who were rocking top tier stuff. I managed to climb back up from 1 to 45 or so late late into wipe based upon Experience. You are not struggling just because of gear. You are struggling due to lack of experience.

Map knowledge can be overcome running offline runs with PMC. Start by running around with no scavs on
just explore. Then practice offline with scavs on and try to make it from spawn to exit 50% of the time over 10 raids. IF you can do that then you are doing well and can start working online. @zinc tendon

For me what always helps, is to have an exit. If I know I properly cleared the way I came from, I can always fall back to a cheap spot and force the guy shooting to wait me out or push me

@runic imp thats when you drop all your gear in a hidden spot while running, that way if they chase and kill you they wasted time or if you get away from then you can run back and grab look

As for Traders selling progression to make most $ is Therapist>Skier>mechanic...then check Prapor>Ragman>Fence if none of the first 3 buy. ONce you get Flea market compare lowest price for that item on flea vs. the first 3 traders and sell accordingly. @zinc tendon

Once you're lvl 5 you can buy veprkms off market or loot them from scavs and use them . Really cheap rifle and more reliable than a pistol

@runic imp a raid or two a day is plenty. Either scav on interchange or attempt customs quests. Keep chiseling at it till you learned from whatever mistakes that cause your death. Just take a minute to be like, okay, what could I have done wrong and what could have ei done better.

You do not lose your gear or keep any loot when playing Offline Mode. It is a great learning tool though

You can disable/enable scavs too, you can improve your aim and awareness. Keep in mind, in offline you do not gain any XP or loot. But you get everything you had back.

If you cannot make it from spawn to exfil in offline mode with scavs on normal 50% of the time out of 10 raids then you are not ready for online mode

People were less KoS a few months ago. I think once the new wave of players becomes established and confident they'll be able to rack up 30m by the end of the wipe they'll care less about your 50k of loot and be more open to playing the game for fun and interesting experiences.

If you're learning customs, I might recommend staying clear of New Gas Station and Dorms. Stay low and keep moving.

Not a bad plan Lion, you can even put down some scavs if you see they have a decent weapon. They wont shoot first so lining up a HS is pretty cake!

Customs can be a real pain because there's a couple pretty tight choke points. I feel you there.

Something to consider, there are a bunch of hidden caches in Customs, mostly out of the way of all the shenanigans. I think Pestily has a guide, not sure if I'm allowed to link here.

Does using a dot on a canted mount make you lose stamina more or accuracy? It’s looks awkward the way my character turns the gun 45 degrees. Also what’s the point of the canted fore grips or the fore grips that don’t go straight down?

I've have been killed more times than not going past Gas Station, now I typically cut across into the woods near the bus station.

It's towards Dorms, but you should feel safer in those woods than if you are trying to hug the wall south of Gas Station.
