no spaces (scavs are an exception, as their nicknames are a mix of a random first and last name)
no guard/boss nicknames (killa, vepr, ect)
basically if a name is used in the game world, which means both player nicknames and npcs you cannot use it

Assuming you're still a pretty low level, I would just sell them. They don't really become worth saving until later, though there is a task you where you need 10 USEC tags and 10 BEAR tags.

Just having issues with surviving in general. I've run maybe 15-20 runs, and have only survived 2. I've lost pretty much all of my weapons and my funds are getting low. I'm doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what it is. I could just use some general tips.

Run your scav character as often as it is available. That will help you offset your losses by a lot. Don't be afraid to take a REALLY long time to move around. Be slow, be calculating. Try and anticipate where you're vulnerable from when moving from cover to cover. You can also try doing offline raids where you won't gain anything, but you can't lose anything either. This is extremely helpful for familiarizing yourself with the different maps. As the person above me stated, watching some tutorials can really help too, I would recommend Pestily on youtube or Twitch for some really good new player information.

I've watched maybe 3-4. I stick with what they suggest, but it doesn't seem to help. I usually get killed by groups, or sniped from somewhere, without being able to see who killed me. I stay in shadow, cover, but any time I try to pop out to loot, I am killed VERY quickly.
I avoid loot spots like the plague, but it seems that even when I'm crouchwalking through the bush at lowest speed, I still get spotted and sniped.

Yeah, I'm with @fair hatch on this one, a lot of people suggest Customs is the best new map, but if you don't know what to expect there it can be one of the most unforgiving. The chokepoints are really tough to get through and you always have to go through the worst one to get to your extract.

When I first started the game I was also terrified of Interchange. That being said, after my first raid there it instantly became my favorite map. It's honestly one of the easier maps to learn and there is always loot to grab. If you end up giving it a shot just start the map out going floor by floor per raid;
1st-3rd raid just do the parking lot.
4th-6th raid do the main mall floor.
7th and on start going wherever you prefer going (most stuff is located in various stores around the center of the map.
Some notable stores are: Techlight, Texho, German, Rasmussen (electronics stores) I prefer to hit these first as they can be the most lucrative. (It's easy to swap out your healing items for a free Tetriz!) KIBA (Weapons store, but needs 2 keys to enter), Mantis (medical supplies), then OLI (one of the three large stores, many different barter items here, most notable are corrugated hoses) and Goshan (red and green text store, another of the three main stores, has food items and many different useful spawns such as fuel conditioner).
There are some easy, quick routes to learn that will get you in and out of the mall in a mere minutes if you're too sketched out. GL with your raids. Just watch out for Killa near the middle!
There are 4 spots to be sure to check in parking garage. The most lucrative spots are located in the B block and C block of the parking garage, you should be able to see a large number on the wall wherever you currently are.
First up we have the escalator that leads from the parking garage up into IDEA. This is in the Northern part of the parking garage, just before block A turns into block B. There 2 rooms connected by the escalator between them. There is a large weapon crate behind the escalator, a smaller weapon crate in the southern room with a duffle bag, then a grenade crate and another duffle bag in the opposite room.
The second spot I like to check is the main tents, located in B block, which is immediately on the left of the main mall entrance (under the ULTRA sign) or South of our first spot. Straight back you will find two large tents toward the left side and they each have a large weapon crate in them.
Continuing to the right (South) you will come upon a large opening on your left, which leads to escalators to take you up to Goshan. On the left side of this wall is another large weapon crate, small square black crate, various attachments on the table (found a good amount of scopes here). On the right side of the wall is another smaller weapon crate. Just outside of this area is a pickup truck, open up the tailgate and there is another smaller weapon crate.
Continue further south into the C block (previously mentioned spot is in between the two blocks) and you will find a large ramp (big piece of broken floor/ceiling). Behind the ramp is another large weapon crate along with a duffle bag in the corner to search. On the wall opposite of the ramp there is a grenade crate.

To be honest, at this point in the wipe, AP 6.3 isn't really that worth it to buy anymore. The prices are really inflated because of the new MP9, but beyond that, it's pretty late in the wipe and most players are geared to the point where AP 6.3 is going to tickle them through their Forts and Gen4s. I would recommend just sticking with Luger and going for legs against geared players. Best part is, the ammo is gonna be great against less geared players too.

This is a really helpful map showing you where keys go on Reserve. In my opinion the best ones to have are RB-VO, RB-AO, RB-ST, RB-MP22, RB-MP13, RB-MP21, RB-BK, RB-KRPL. Most others aren't as lucrative but I would say those are the mains ones to own.

Question about extractions. How the heck do they work? I realized there are multiple of them. I alao realized there are different xtractions for pmc and scav. Do scav extractions come up as one of the possible xtracts as a PMC?

Interchange is weird. I went fully geared and died in the first five minutes. I went as a hatchling, stomped around in the open, smashed all the windows I saw, collected my task items and left. Never saw a soul.

In my experience if your squad mates use the ???? extracts then it remains available to the rest of the squad. Though I do remember someone taking the pier boat in front of me and then me being unable to follow (enemy PMC)
Though that was last wipe, maybe it has changed?
