Then hit "start looking for group" under your character and your friends do the same

Just avoid the middle due to the Killa farming and Interchange is fine. Also it has a ton of loot that can be sold but is also useful for tasks and upgrading Hideout.

I think you can do it when you take the mag out of the gun, then drag the bullet from the chamber out of the gun, it should flip it out

Hello everyone, here's a fellow player looking for advice. I am new to the game and find myself really poor after a couple of terrible runs. I keep getting killed in Customs (beginner map) and half the time I don't even see the person shooting me until it's too late. What I want to do now is create a budget loadout to reduce the hemorrhaging of money every single run. I saw a couple of youtube videos for budget loadouts but they are like 180k and that's basically all my money at the moment. From what I've read what I should be doing is hatchet runs but I feel that won't teach me anything, I want to at least have a weapon and try to fight instead of running around with a little axe waiting to get killed.
are pistol runs viable? and if so which pistol do you recommend?
the cheapest one is the PM but I don't know if it's good enough to kill anyone

Use your scav wisely. Use it on Interchange. If you really are low on gear/$ just run straight to exfil with your scav gear. Then use that gear to practice offline on any map. Then after 20 minutes of offline practice go to scav again. Go loot and practice the map. If you die go back offline with the kit you have.

as you could take out of my last message, i'm not having much winning experience with it, bu i manage to get kills etc with a budget loadout of around 80k if that'd help you.
i use: SKS with 60 bullets (prapor, the bullets that cost 87 rubels each)
the 17k helmet and the 18k armor from ragman
and a sling from ragman (2k)
then just some basic meds on top (painkillers, bandage etc) seems to be very cost effective, has at least allowed me to kill one or two scavs and maybe a player every run, which allowed me to loot their better gear and go from there

As long levels your Endurance, strength, stress resistance, and other skills are low so you get damaged more quickly than leveled PMC.

Just a heads up @hoary kraken I just tried to do that mission and failed. It can only be done as a PMC and after getting the watch you have to successfully extract from the raid. I got the watch but died before extracting. Be careful of the scav sniper on top of the building.

@unborn hound I sell some quest items and keep some. I research the found item on the wiki and see if its used for quests. If it is, I check if I need to find the item "in raid". If it needs to be found in raid, I try to keep it. Otherwise I sell it. "find in raid" means you cannot buy it on flea to finish the quest.

Low meds like cheese and bandages only do 1 thing each. Cheese heals health points but does NOT stop bleeding. Bandages stop bleeding but do NOT heal health points. Once you get to CAR and up they stop bleeding and heal health points in 1 product.

@molten ermine The way looting works in this game is based on value:space ratio, so having expensive 1x1's is always better than slightly more expensive 1x2's. Smaller items tetris fast, and can save your life on multiple occasions ontop of the value boost

@molten ermine IFAK definitely doesn't. Not sure re: CMS vs Splint, there's a bit of nuance there that I'm a bit too new to understand. I believe a splint will stop some pain modifiers but not allow healing whereas CMS would 'repair' and allow you to heal back up the limb after

@little cedar Not in hideout, not in game. So on the main menu you should be able to click on 'Character' which will open up your stash and your character sheet. @little cedar Customs is the easiest map to learn but it is challenging because there are some narrow chokepoints that but you at high risk for engagement. I struggled in my first week there heavily, still do in fact. At the end of the day you have early quests to do that force you into Customs. I'd recommend trying to complete them at night to reduce engagement risk.
@little cedar I've had the most success as a new player on Shoreline. Less engagement risk and more opportunity for me to poke around and loot a bit.
@little cedar do you have two monitors? If so, I always have a map from the tarkov wiki for whatever one I'm playing pulled up on the 2nd monitor to reference

Similar idea if you loot a guy who has better or equivalent gear, you can just drop your insured gear and take theirs. Good chance you'll still get or original gear back

If you have standard then you have to be more critical of keeping task items. Items that can be used by PMC (like respirators and hats) wont' go into it but I recommend if you want to stockpile task items to get the Lucky Scav Junk Box to hold the non-usable task items.
