Knowing how my ammo relates to the default zero I can guesstimate point of impact ,
I range targets by measuring the height or width of a target then use a formula that's tied to that optic , after that it's a match the numbers game.

When shooting at angles you're line of sight is longer than the range that gravity is effecting bullet drop.
Gravity dont care if you're shooting up hill or down hill , that shits constant .
So you multiple the range you see by the cosin of the angle you're shooting to correct for it.
Wind and flight time require line of sight though for corrections etc etc

@compact basin default ammo isn't something given to us as a stat ingame we have to figure it out . Typically it's the lowest level ammo that gun has.
From there each round has a velocity , any change in that will shift your point of impact.
Faster hits higher. Slower hits lower
