@eager arrow If you have a gamma it's nice to take a kiba ammo box and fill it with shotgun shells or various ammo and you'll almost always be over weight and strength training. It'll also keep you constantly slightly slower due to encumberment.

how do i prolong my own life? im aware this question is really fucking dumb but i cant seem to stay alive long enough to loot the people i kill. just a game ago i dropped 2 scavs and then waited for a third, after i heard or saw nothing i start running over to the second body i dropped. then i hear the third scav roll up and i start panicking and i fumble the ADAR from the corpse, after that i tried to drop the third scav with my pistol because i couldn't switch to the ADAR. And he one taps me. it happens every other game or so and i dont even get kills the other games. the only way i can seem to get anything while preserving my gear is to run through just about every raid. any advide would be really appreciated

I recommend mosin, it usually doesnt matter much where you shoot most people. You can take fights at pretty much any range, its very ammo efficient and the sights are clean. Not to mention its quite cheap and if you end up fighting someone who outgears you they usually wont take it.

the reason pistols are suggested is because they can be incredibly cheap and a new player will probably die a lot. so they can afford to keep buying new guns. a cheap gun that shoots 7.62x54 or 7.62x51 is better but a bit more costly.

I'm a complete beginner. Only did like 2 raids and 2 scav runs. Does it make sense to do an early extraction as PMC if I managed to kill someone and get some basic loot?
Or are there restrictions as to how early I can extract in the first place?

Yes. If you've killed someone and looted you will have enough XP for it not to be a run through. You don't have to stay in for entire length of raid.
only penalty for run through is less XP...and if it's a Task that requires "survive" then run through will not count.

Correct. Many people bring loose rounds into raid. Last I ran I had 1 mag in weapon and 2 mags in vest. Loose rounds in gamma. When I emptied a mag and reloaded I then drag loose rounds to the empty mag and it fills mag 1 round at a time...leaving rest in gamma when mag is full

@quasi lark I'm rather new aswell, and I feel like i'm starting to understand the game even though it was daunting at first. I recommend playing as scavanger a lot, so you get a feel for how shooting/looting and healing works without any real risks of losing stuff

Can also do offline raids. Ammo and meds u use won't actually be used and if you die you don't lose gear. EFT is all about patience and experience. Just have to grind to learn

Customs has a lot of first tasks. It's big enough to move around and small enough to get pvp. Also interchange because you can find a lot of the items needed for tasks and now for hideout upgrades.

Good luck. I'd hope for you to give it longer. EFT is a Hard game with a STEEP learning curve. I watched a lot of streams before I ever bought it and thought I knew what I was doing when I went in. I was still overwhelmed and didn't know 1/2 of what I thought I did.
You just have to put in the time. Experience is huge. Map knowledge, scav behavior, PMC behavior, what to loot and then what to keep/sell, when to fight, when to run. Takes time.

For quests that need to you to find items in raid, do previously found items count? Like find stuff for future quests then stash till I can start that quest. Or does it have to be found after I start the quest?

As long as you found it in raid (it'll have a little check mark) it can be used for the task no matter if you found it before you accepted the task or after. Most people start picking up task items day 1

I don't know the math. You can just click on add item. Add the item and your desired price and it'll show you the fee "tax"

If you price it too much higher than lowest price it may sell but may take awhile. Too much higher than lowest then only the idiots will buy it
So if a Gas analyzer is selling for 50K i'd sell one for 49K and it'd sell almost immediately. I could try maybe 55K and it may sell but not super fast.
Put it up for 90K and you are just wasting time...unless some sucker doesn't know how to scroll down and buys the first one they see.
