Ok i have several questions that i been wondering for a while...

As someone who isn't too great at the game and dies 70% of raids, I'm often running out of gear/weapons to take on raids often. The raids that I do survive and take gear with (mostly shitty scav guns etc), should I stick to those crap guns for next raid or just sell it all and get one good weapon from traders/flea market? I get the feeling if I do that, I'm just wasting money if I die, which already happened to me.

So question is, should I more often sell all the shitty scav stuff I find and buy 1 or 2 better weapons or keep the scav stuff?

Honestly, this is your first wipe right? If so, literally just use what you want, and get a feel of the game, it doesnt matter if you die a load, everyone does, the game isnt supposed to be easy and gear doesnt make you harder to kill as there is ammo that you can get which can drop the most geared dudes in 1 shot. The game is about to be wiped and everyone is going to be back at ground zero an a couple of weeks, so just get used to the game for the rest of the time that this wipe has. There is also going to be a pre wipe event where you will be able to practically try out everything as all the trader prices will plummet to around 10% of the original price.

Your friends are giving you good advice if you were at their level of playing. As a new player hoard cheap guns and ammo. Dont invest in kits too much and just practice. I would only run the pp-19 for a while until I knew the game mechanics well enough, then I started putting a little more money in for mp5 with ap ammo. Now I'm at the point where I do feel more comfortable taking in ak's with decent ammo because my game sense and understanding is a ton better

Also I prefer to take it easy, run lots of safer loot runs. Then if I want pvp I take gear in knowing I will lose it and ensure I can cope with the loss of it

well the most important thing is using the right gear and weapons

I recomend you trying 7.62x51 with guns like hunter for example because it can two shot/oneshot most armors

and when it comes to fighting then try to be aware of whats happening at all times so you dont get jumped by somo hobo and if you fight scavs try to get a clear line of sight and kill them before they manage to agro

also dont rush people many times you will win a firefight because someone will be bored and just rush you

and if you are in a bad situation like you have a shitty position and broken limbs try to just ditch using grenades and meds

sometimes its better to just run especially if your armor is broken or you are outnumbered

Some of the keys might be expensive, but the 2 main keys for farming expensive items are East Wing 226 and East Wing 310. East Wing 226 can spawn a lot of expensive med items and East Wing 310 can spawn a lot of valuables (Bitcoins, clocks, roosters, etc.)

A full lobby is pretty common on the more popular servers; if you are using an unpopular server (i.e. a server somewhere that's currently in the middle of the night), 'dead' servers are more common than not.

@amber venture 7/7 really means 7/47 but can only repair to 7 max. That is basically the same as wearing zerod armour. Sorry but the game isnt very clear with that

The way it works is everytime you use armour you can never fully repair it back to perfect, and the more you repair the worst it gets over time, most say after your max repair is about 10-15% less than full durability its time to sell it and get more

I recommend the press armour, I use it all the time, its some of the best to repair in the game and a solid class 3 armour which is all you need usually for scavs.

If you go against players its paper but even this late in the wipe class 5 is mostly paper too

but what you can do and what you should actually do are two different things duo to money and cost

as a beginner you should stick to cheap level 3´s with a value close to their maximum durability, this will protect you from the majority of calibers Scav´s use and will keep you alive long enough in most situations, in other cases you simply don´t want to get hit

even with lvl 5 armor you can get killed by 2-3 shots to the chest via M80 which is relatively cheap (2 dollars, done it myself thats why i know)

That's one of those things I'm not sure anyone has truly tested this wipe to be absolutely sure

So honestly I'd advise just taking a shotgun without one into an offline raid, emptying a tube, then putting it on and testing again

The accuracy stat itself has no bearing on the spread size though, mind you, the spread size is something hidden

Accuracy just defines how close to the point of aim the spread centers

@bleak zealot Here’s what I tell everyone. Don´t buy pistols. You can buy shotguns early on in the game when PMC´s still run around naked without armor and later on you must buy something that at least goes through level 3 armor. But don´t worry, the Vepr 136 is cheap as dirt and does just that. You can also use a SKS. If you already left your “broke” status you can also go over to use some stuff of the AK-74 series. The smaller caliber is superior in many ways and you can always go over to upgrade the gun and the ammo. Just transfer to a better in general before you spent +60k on some AK mods.

@bleak zealot If you already have enough money to an AK-74, go for one. It´s recoil is lower and the ammo you can get is also superior to the AKM variants. It´s RPM is also a bit higher. Upgrading your rifle to something newer or better is usually worth it as long as you can afford it, since it will get your survival rate higher up. But don´t forget to wear at least around level 3 armor and helmet and comtac´s.

@gloomy wren Just run like Scav, not PMC. With Scav all gear what is on him its yours, but need survive (escape). Just take Scav, choose map which know better, and run straight to exit. Scavs randomly have, AK, mosins, Toz shootgans, hunters and so on. I am also new, runs with scavs is only good thing for new comers

Just like I said, just take scav and run, you can make what you want, and even you die, you not loose your gear on pmc. Just take another scav and run again.

Each death is a learning experience. You gotta analyze the fudge out of it, what you did before you died. How you played, what you could have done better. Plans for next encounters. Etc. Dont just hide away from people all the time. We’ve all been there, all scared and anxious. But once you do combat enough, you start to understand your options. Practice and time.

Well, Its more me worried about losing my last loadout and going to 0 rubles/dollars but in saying that, If i did go down to zero rubles go into a night raid with scav and extract with that gear and sell it and buy a basic kit for the pmc so im no longer worried about gear/money

The best way to get rid of gear fear is build confidence in making money. Once you know you have a mattress to fall on if you hit zero money to bring yourself back up you can feel better

Well i have gone 2 zero and i literally extracted after i spawned with scav, Sold scav gear and bought myself a kit worth 40000 rubles which got me a cheap ak and armor and a few bullets, 2 scav spawn and extract runs get ya enough dough to make 1-2 different kits and have fun @undone sable
