i'd watch some youtube guides and play a scav on factory to get into quick combat and/or play some offline just to get a feel of everything and learn a map

He did, put the Dovetail mount on the OP SKS and you can put just about anything on it.

you can also mount red dots and such but no scopes on the lvl1 prapor sks, you need a UTG sks socom rail mount. it allows small red dots to be placed near the muzzle end of the sks tho which is the only downside.

i found this better in some cases than the OP-sks as people like to keep those, the lvl1 sks was never kept so i always get it back minus the red dot. which is like 10k roubles or something plus the socom rail mount, which i dont remember the cost so it's perfect if you are fighting on a budget.

I would say the opposite, as when you have 100ms, it takes +100ms for the raider to see you out in the open.
While you are able to see the raider straight when you get out of cover.
So I would say the higher the ping is, the higher the reaction time would be.
Nothing confirmed, it's just my idea of how it works.

If something says it's compatible with an item but it wont let you put it on that item you need to get some sort of adapter, mount, etc.
Linked search the parts of guns, not the gun itself.
To find the things that attach to it.

Most the time "compatible with" only says "..." sometimes it says what weapon. Even then 2 mods are incompatible with eachother is what i just ran into. I want to mod my guns, but i have no idea where to start. If the websites are out of date then i can only buy and try.
The handguard wasnt compatible with the dustcover was my issue. Im just totally lost. There had to be a better way for me to learn this.

If you go, don't bring much. Meds and middle-area loot sells really well and doesn't take up much space. Don't bring what you're willing to lose, cause insurance definitely doesn't work there.

@silent tartan it helps when you go in with one or two other players. For starters I would recommned to have at least class 3 armor, so you survive the raiders with bad ammo, and a VPO Hunter or an ADAR

@bold kernel sprinting is a toggle thing. You can’t stop straight from sprinting without the animation. You toggle sprint to start running then toggle it again without letting go of forward to slow down to a run THEN you stop moving

If you let up off of W you will. But if you leave the setting standard and let up off of shift you’ll stop really awkwardly. If you put it on continuous it won’t if you keep holding W

but I find that toggling sprint makes you think a bit more about doing it

I'd sprint from cover to cover, think about when I could afford to use my stamina etc
It got me out of the FPS "sprint everywhere" mindset.

-Fold stocks if foldable, otherwise take them off.

Sell the pistol grips/stocks and magazines
Because they're cheap and easy to buy
Keep only the stocks and grips you know are really good

@waxen compass I use Interchange as my money spot usually. Go to OLI and the small electronics stores, as well as hit up the small military area near OLI. Loot PCs and look for flash drives, grab GPhones, Gas Analyzers, and Graphics Cards.
