Comtacs are fairly bassy and just blow a lot of other sounds out of proportion / GSHs and Sordins are virtually the same with a good mix of deafening sounds that are ambient (Sordins are little heavier sounding imho) / and Tac Sports honestly just make everything sound better

Yes a lot of games have a steep learning curve, but with EFT it is more like a brick wall lol

Map knowledge is by far the most important thing here

offline raids help a ton. Start with one map (I started with factories, then did customs, then interchange) and learn scav routes, etc. Once you know where to expect scavs, the amount of enemies that can surprise you is reduced drastically. As well, if you know scav "patrols" (they aren't always specific, but at least where you can expect them) you know safer routes of travel and what hotspots to watch out for

Youtubers make it look a little easy but they've also been playing for a couple years now and most are highlights from the real stream. On live, they literally have the same experience you do. Alright. So some tips of using the PU scope for long range engagements.

When aiming, instead of using "the very tip" of your reticle for your point of aim, zero FURTHER than what your shooting at , and hold a bit lower.

So for instance, if I'm shooting at a 200m target with a PU scope, I will zero to 250, and if I'm going for a head shot, I will hold at the gent's collar bone. because it's easier to visualize in my mind. but since I know my POI shift between 200 and 250 I know my round should hit him in the nose. This also lets me visualize that distance so I can shoot through smaller loop holes or if he takes cover.

Someone on the forums/reddit had compiled a chart of how far bullet should have dropped with its given mass, and what it actually drops a while back. To summarize, it sounded like all bullets were calculated as having similar masses for calculating drag.

Where as the rifle rounds we use tend to have at least twice as much mass.

In short, the increased drag triples the expected bullet drop at medium ranges.

Personally I think hunting end game players CAN be an effective way to start the game. But a rough one.

My advice was to stockpile SKS's from corpses because they have a small inventory profile, and are guns that are more functional then their sell value. (PS ammo being preferred ammo early game, but T45M is a budget ammo you can use when moneys tight.)

That the vityaz with 9x19 PST gzh was cost effective for hunting scavs, and could rarely be used to ambush players whom are completely oblivious.

That the mosin is the more reliable way to actually kill armored players early on, but its rough.

The only thing I will argue on that is that the Mosin is only rough if you use the same playstyle with the SKS and Vit with it.

Otherwise I'd say that's pretty solid advice.

Really depends on the map.

I feel that on customs, there is very little advice that can make low gear players less prone to suicide.

Given its chokepoints making it easy to spawncamp.

And extractcamp.

What you do is give a new player a list of weapons they should try to master, in order of easy to hard.

And that is how I structured things.

The vityaz is very cheap, controllable, and full auto: Its easy, but it has limits to what it can do, use it to loot SKS's.

Then use the reserve of SKS's to learn some marksmanship.

(Avoid using 5.45 until actually good 5.45 ammo unlocks, because all the LL1 and LL2 ammo is pretty bad.)

Personally I only run the helmets that can't fit hearing when i'm rolling in a group of 2/3 people

hearing is so so so important in tarkov, lot of the time you're gonna hear your enemy before you see em
