It's extremely frustrating to me that I have spent time filling out my plan maps to find my way around as the game intended just to find out the compass is broken because the devs don't give a shit. Map and compass are real items in the game with real functionality I had to earn by playing, and improve by my own study. And the devs just decide to be lazy and have me rely on online maps anyway.

The game literally makes you earn the compass and Woods Plan Map by finding things on Woods without either of these things, and the compass is inverted after all

If the compass worked it would be a funny bit of dry humor by the devs; making you earn a map and a broken compass by finding things without either is a supreme dick move

At least the compass is consistently inverted

I actually love that the plan maps themselves are a little outdated and don't mind it at all

i think you are thinking too hard about it lol 😄 yeah the compass does not work so immersion is lost. But maps are more or less easy to learn, woods especially. One big mountain and points of interest around it. You don't need to learn EVERY nook and cranny, just the most important locations. Sure maps and compass add flavor, but sadly it gets lost fast in the practicality of it all (or lack of)

Any earpiece is better than nothing. The helmet you are wearing in that image is earpiece compatible. You can tell because it leaves ample space over the ears to accommodate an earpiece.

Earpieces are incredibly important for situational awareness. Some are better than others. The Gssh is the worst, but still better than nothing. If you are putting up a Labs keycard and nice gear like you have here, make sure to bring an earpiece from your stash or even buy a new one from Ragman. :)

Some helmets earpiece compatibility for more protection, and that is a valid choice, but if you can ADD a headset without compromising on your headgear, always add one

I'm worried about getting blasted by high-tier ammo from people who have Arena constantly after the Hardcore Wipe. I am curious if there are enough Ref quests in the game for me to unlock his good ammo and buy it.

and they give your typical amount of rep, like .03

and you need 1.2 for ll4

Few things in the case

1. Watch a video explaining tarkov basics, I like JesseKazams video, saved me a lot of trouble
2. Do lots of scav raids, but not on GZ. GZ is really only needed for a few quests, and you dont need to spend too much time on it.
3. I recommend using your scav runs on customs and woods for now, since you'll have lots of quests on them.
4. Try looking up video guides on the maps, I like the ones by Pestily.
5. Head over the the sherpa hub discord at some point and book a session with a sherpa there, I think they do a fantastic job. You can also look for people willing to help in game in these chats or in #pvp-lfg

I also recommend looking up online maps for wherever your going, and exploring in an offline raid first. Its very easy to get overwhelmed and lost at first, although ground zero is one of the simpler maps

When you go to your PMC raids click the "next" button instead of "ready" until you get to a settings looking page that has a checkbox near the top for practice raids

When you’re extracting there will be a green counter in the bottom middle of your screen

When you’re next is raid double tap o to bring up your list of available extracts. Only go the ones without any ?’s for now

You can also hop into a practice mode raid to practice learning the map and its extracts

If I have it ticked in the server selection alongside other servers, is it slowing down my queue time by prioritising the servers with the least ping? Assuming youre on auto select it just selects the first raid ready to go in OCE, you can unselect OCE but you will sacrifice your ping and possibly get dc'd in raid because of high ping

Definitely ground zero. before level 21 you'll only be matched with people below level 21. After that you'll be matched with anyone

Question: I spawned into shoreline while taking a shit, got back to my PC, laid in a bus to go grab some silly juice. I come back and hear two dudes stomping around. They go stand where I spawned (by extract) and the one dude shoots the other guy like 6 times, then he heals, repeat. They went through two grizzlies. What the hell did I just witness?

Was thinking of surprising them with some shots, but it was too fascinating to interrupt.

Theres a quest to turn in a armor with less than 50% left on it. Im sure thats what they were doing

yep, 2 quests for 2 different armors to turn in below 50%. Homie shoots you with really low pen ammo while you heal is the easiest way

I shoulda killed them but I was cosplaying as a Scav and had to wait a bit before rushing my 4 quests.

@undone drum thanks fellas. I tried queueing that last night but couldn't find a match, probably bad time to matchmake. I liked the 1 game I played in it, pretty easy to navigate and fun gunfights around the stairwells

I'm a noob but I never imagined cultists would be included in the boss thing. When I think of boss, I think of a named Scav boss like Tagilla. "Cultist" sounds like a type of enemy, not a named individual scav boss.

Well you have more fun if you go faster pased and kill the gear-fear in your head. You will never come to a point where you have no equip left. Pvp if you are super new to fps or gaming maybe but other than that no.

Would recom tactical understanding (never fight open, fight mult enemies into 1v1 situations etc)

Don't use anyone else's sense, it won't work for you. Go into a practice mode and pick a spot on a wall to shoot. Try to flick shot it and drag shot it as accurately as possible. Keep tweaking your sensitivity until it feels comfortable for you and you're more consistently hitting the spot you want to hit. That's how I tweak my aim in all games.

load up with as much equip as you have 2 guns , full mags and pistol aswell. Choose a map , choose "Enable practice mode" and try out the map and your guns and everything else . You can select bots on , off , dificulty etc (YOU WONT LOOSE ANYTHING USED ON PRACTICE!)
