Try to look at their clothing, however some scavs can spawn/loot good armor and appear as PMCs.
Player scavs tend to not shoot right away.
Player scavs tend to not notice you if you're creeping up on them, since they mostly do not spawn with an earpiece.
Player scavs tend to voiceline if they hear you nearby.

I suggest you try to find whats best for your pc in offline mode and scav runs.

Sometimes increasing your settings gives more fps depending on your specs.

Also turn binaural audio off, MASSIVE difference in performance, especially if you have 16 or less ram.

Don't use the ingame FPS counter cause it tanks your FPS as well, and just try some settings and try to find what works best for your PC. If your CPU bottlenecks your GPU try increasing your graphics settings and it might actually be better.

I think the new AI is something like: they have 2-3 seconds of doing nothing when they see u, and if u get out of their sight during this time, or hit them they become brain dead until the next time they get to see u. But if you get exposed under their aim for more than 2-3 seconds and try and run away, they will instant kill u if u have no armor on :)

u get this "bar thingy" that gradually increases as they see u, and when it maxes out they start locking onto ur thorax or head and sends u back to ur hideout

also their accuracy generally decrease at long distances or behind bushes so if it's in one of the cases just keep running
