if you feel like it wasn’t enough you could hit the buildings next to it but those lead to bunker so there could possibly be people nearby

Having a pistol with a mosin isn't a bad idea, depends how close you want to get to points of interest

if you only intend to skulk in the forest looking for scav heads to pop, no need really, you should spot anyone before they get close enough for your pistol to be usable

if you want to go into like, usec camp/milcamp/sawmill, taking one may be a good idea as enemies can possibly use buildings to safely get closer to you

let's say he had an ETG + Propitol + Adren in him, he's regenerating 10+ HP per second, you engage in full spray and hit leg leg, arm arm, stomach, that's 5 of your bullets consumed and you've done zero critical damage, first hit goes to chest, BP has 55% penetration on Teir 6 so it does 35 damage, he recovers 10 and you hit a second shot for 39 damage and he recovers 10 more, last bullet connects to chest for 44 or so, and he lives with 16 HP on thorax and head at full HP, or even a head ricochet to consume an extra hit
