For these, because nobody but you knows where you're at in terms of quests or hideout, or what barters/crafts you're trying to save for you have 2 options.

1. Check everything using https://tarkov-market.com/ and the info it provides for quest/hideout/barter/crafting requirements and for flea prices. It's otherwise impossible to know, without significant experience or asking other people every time, what you'll need anytime soon, or what sells for substantial money to other players. Then you can decide what things you'll need soon enough, and which items sell for enough, to hold onto. This is quicker in the long run and more profitable, but is tedious.

2. Set a particular goal - maybe two or three hideout upgrades you want and get your list of like 5-10 items together. Sell everything else. This is the most "to hell with inventory management" approach, and you'll certainly sell things that you'll need again or could have sold for more, but you'll spend much more of your time in-raid.

Honestly i get where xy is coming from, but you dont have to get good at pvp at all. Play how you enjoy man. I personally enjoy sneaking around questing and avoiding fights, its fun for me, and its a great way to pearn the maps and the game for people that are new like us, so just take your time, stay out of hot spots until the timer runs down, and do things your own way. Also hitting the stashes on customs is a good way to get cigs its where i found most of mine

I’ve come to learn that for me, if i go into raids without a bag i focus less on loot and more on my task, then do all my loot runs with my scav. Its working out really well because im getting tasks done faster, im getting sniped less because im not concentrated on searching things, and i earn a shit ton of money on my scavs runs (currently near fully upgraded all basic hideout stuff and i have just short of 6mil roubles, about $15k and all traders at level 2)

I scaved alot, I guess more scav runs then pmc runs. I try to reduce it now a bit. But you are right, it is very great to get a basic knowledge of new maps. But is not very helpful for PMC traffic/hotzone learning. But I guess I will do some scav runs on shoreline to learn the basic layout

Lots of videos and people to help, however if you're trying to start somewhere solo I'd suggest Woods or Customs
Woods is harder to learn but safer.
Customs is easier to learn but more dangerous.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.

The game is a commitment - it's not something you should pick up casually. The skill curve is vertical, and getting a handle on the basics is a massive hurdle. As a beginner you won't be able to do anything but laugh at how brutal things are - it will feel like a horror game. There's no skill based match-making, no tutorial, no usable in-game maps, nothing to help you in the least. However, it's incredibly rewarding to overcome that challenge.
If you don't have a lot of time, or much desire to learn the tiny details that go along with Tarkov, or if you're looking for something you can pick up for an hour and start to have some easy fun - this is not the game for you.
But you've probably seen some clips, and maybe watched a video or two. You saw how great it looks when someone is actually competent and able to play this game well. It's an experience like nothing else in games right now.
If you are looking to join in - the community (though not entirely) is quite useful and it's very easy to find people willing to help as a new player.

You lose Karma by killing peaceful scavs as a scav.

Pros of good Karma: Better Scav Karma means better scavs, with quicker cooldowns and better gear on average. Quicker scav cases, cheaper extracts, and if you get to 6.0 karma bosses are friendly and a special fence market unlocks, though that's certainly not the primary benefit.
Cons of good Karma: You get executed by mean scavs from time to time and just have to take it.

Pros of Bad Karma: You can kill anyone you want and get their gear, which can be really helpful depending on your ability to fight scavs.
Cons of bad Karma: Worsening timers, worsening gear, slower scav cases, more expensive extracts and and -6.0 everything will treat you as hostile on sight.

It's easier to distinguish between AI and players. That's behavior and you'll get the hang of it quick. Random russian voicelines and scavs standing still are obviously AI, whereas players act much more human.
Telling the difference between player scavs and PMC's is much harder, and is all about gear and clothing. Scavs on average wear brighter more noticeable clothing, and PMC's are going to be camo'd up. You'll get an eye for it

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
