you do not need to extract for the placed markers to count, however you do need to extract at least once after accepting the quest. Basically you can place all 3 and then die, then go in again and extract without placing a single one and the quest will be complete

As for hit reg- you're level 2 so you're probably missing.

As for not dying to chads, well thats tough but these tips might help a little.

-STOP RUNNING EVERYWHERE - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat - it often gives you a better chance to hit back later.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Hipfire is exceptional, get a good feel for it in offline mode and you'll thank yourself later.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition.
-Map knowledge is vital, learn them well - this mostly comes as you play but you can spend some time in offline to hone it quickly. Pay attention to spawns and you'll learn the high traffic areas online.
-VOIP is crazy powerful, but people can sense when you're lying. Help people, they'll help you - it does pay off.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson.
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.
