Yea, this is a concept familiar in learning theory, where focus is not very creative. But passive thinking is quite creative. So focused tasks tend to have a small view of solutions. While passive processing happens when we are doing other things like walking/running/ hobbies/sleeping. which infuses focused time with some new creativity

Yeah, I completely understand, I'm a similar situation, however, you must take a break in between, you are human after all, and your brain will fog out of exhaustion, so it's better to break the cycle of repeating the same patterns, and do something different for at least a few minutes. Stretch, walk inside your home or a bit outside. Get back at it, and keep searching for a solution.

Ok, ima break this down simple. Read or study a subject. Then intersperse it with practicing a physical task. Like balancing on one foot, doing a back flip, playing piano, spinning a pen on your fingers. Alternate like 20min reading etc. 5-10 min alt activity. This allows for different types of brain processes to rest, you can sustain longer hours of efficient study this way. But you have to realize that most people really only have the capacity for 20-40 mins of really focused studying

Alternatively, the physical thing can be like doing 5-10 min of walking/pushups/squats. whatever. As long as it’s kinda “mindless”.

But take intentional breaks from material for memorization or it’ll never stick. Exhausted brains don’t work well at all for memory storage
