In uni, the first digit is usually the year number, and the other two are the course reference. so course 205 would be a second year course of some sort. He was massively wrong. I don't like to discredit them as I understand why most of their network was set up as it was.

I do think they were slightly overprotective and often over reacted to students who would bypass their network. Instead of locking them out, I think they should encourage a culture of reporting problems and patching them.

Their reactions just made students reluctant to report vulnerabilities and encourage them to try to find problems to exploit themself.
