But to people they just see a guys with a laptop and stickers, they dont know what they are from, I take the train often, I usually get weird looks for that

Web App pentesting handbook 2nd edition might help ya. I kno it’s pretty old, but those are the core concepts

As for network pentesting, would be nice to set up your own lab. Get windows vulns to eternalblue, to bluekeep, get something newer(win aerv 2016/2019), do a small AD and do some pass the hash, etc

#

Also, when getting access to one machine, try to use it’s core functionalities, not to drop your tools on it (i know that’s harder, but that’s how u learn). For example, i got a generic(cmd) shell on a win machine. I loaded powershell, and loaded mimikatz into the memory and used it(just a scenario. In this way i was able to bypass the antivirus and got my hashes)
