Hey guys, I am having trouble installing linux as OS. I keep freezing after I click graphical install and it freezes at the point where I get to choose my language
I've been trying to install it multiple ways and it seems like it crashes everytime. I've looked up over 14-17 different videos and nothing is working

I can ping the public IP and I get the default web server (with method not allowed, as expected). But seems like VNC is not up. I have the browser vnc up too, if that has an impact.
Hold up, Windows RDP worked fine here. Let me try the same port for vnc.
RDP&SSH works, so it could be my VNC client heh.

am getting issue on THM boxes....I added 1 extra hour while doing the box...but when it says machine terminated when ongoing first 1 hour is over ...even from several days i can use nmap on all port together at a time. I triend 1 port scan at a time it worked.

In the Linux file system, a / represents the root directory.
If you’re unsure of what root is google it. If you go to the place where the file is stored and you type “pwd” (print working directory) it will show you the full directory that it is stored in.
On the Linux command line, ~ means the user that you’re logged in’s home directory (/home/username)
With this knowledge, all you have to do is add a ~ in front of that / and boom error fixed

hey. I am having trouble using the terminal on mac os to ssh into the tryhackme deployments.
I get a connection and can work, but somehow some commands freeze and/or long text is not retrieved fully and after that the shell hangs as well.

Anyone ever have issues with the terminal freezing while using SSH? This has happened to me several times today... Ctrl+C doesn't work. The only fix was to close/re-open the window. Doesn't appear to do that other than in SSH so I think the problem resides in that program.

Hey Ninja, thanks for your reply. Funny enough I'm trying to do one of your rooms "Wonderland" . I log in to ssh using the username found through the website... login is no problem with the user/pass found. About 3-4 minutes in, it locks up. Not something you planted in your room on purpose is it? 🙂

Other than metasploit being broken from v6 onwards, you should be fine. Just be aware your firewall is likely to block reverse shell connections out of the box.

Today when I turned on Kali (Virtualbox, 2020.2a) and logged in as root user my desktop doesn't load the top panel is there and I can open apps using the search in the panel but when I opened firefox it doesn't have the close button on the top right. so I actually made sure and checked http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free for python2 pip and it's surprisingly not actually there

I use kali-last-snapshot, fairly certain there's something dangerous with changing sources but I'm not sure

I mean, you could edit your sources.list file to include it
apt update && apt install python-pip

I edited the /etc/apt/sources.list and added deb-src to the front
