Sorry if this is the wrong channel, I've created a kali 2020.2 VM on my windows machine using VMWare 15. I couldn't nmap with the NAT settings on VMWare so I changed it to a bridged connection. I'm aware that the vpn clients on my host machine won't work if I use a bridged connection on my VMWare player. If I install the OpenVPN GUI on the Kali 2020.2 machine itself, will that be enough?

Here is the output from the script. I actually don't get an error message when I run the VPN. It's only when I connect to the rdp session I'll get the error I posted earlier. I will try rebooting my machine and see if that fixes anything

Sorry to be coming back with similar problems. Ping and nmap on rooms from my VM take about (no exaggeration) 100-200 times longer than the In-browser deployed Kali machines from the kali room. Switched from VMWare to Virtualbox to see if that would make a difference with no avail. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I have an AMD-V question if someone has experience with running an alt os directly on the hardware of an AMD laptop
For the life of me, the os won't boot. I can sometimes get it to load if I play with the boot options but I still run into problems. Constantly seeing errors about iommu perf-counter and it locks up.
And please, before someone just googles it, it isn't a new issue. I've done research on it and havent found a conclusive answer or solution
I'm looking for someone who possibly understands why is happening and if they've circumvented it before. The best I've arrived at is that the laptop BIOS (which is UEFI and doesn't have a legacy option) doesn't play nice with Linux drivers. No native support or something along those lines.

It's a bit out of scope for this room specifically as it pertains to your device, however, yes. There's a lot of tutorials online to help you get started in installing kali linux so that you don't have to keep on repeating the same actions ^^

@cobalt crown Depends on how you set up your usb. You need to set up something called "persistence" to actually retain the changes you make the next time you boot up. So try looking up tutorials on that as cmn said

VPN issue hit at the start of my stream, at least I assume it was the VPN. xfreerdp froze, wouldn't reconnect. Very odd. In any case I used an offline version of my room so it wasn't a big deal. I'll have to dedicate some time to debugging what exactly is going on though.
