I'm working through a TryHackMe task where I have to identify the framework a favicon belongs to based on its MD5 hash.
I got the hash f276b19aabcb4ae8cda4d22625c6735f, and according to OWASP's favicon DB, it matches chora2.
The answer box accepts 6-character input, but when I type chora2, it gives an error:
"Uh-oh! The answer you provided may not be in English. Please review it and try again."
I'm pretty sure chora2 is valid, so not sure why it's being rejected. Anyone else run into this?

Hi I have question about this room
Wireshark 101, "Task 11 HTTP Traffic". I try to fill in the answer about this question, but it doesn't get accepted:
Looking at the data stream what is the full request URI from packet 18?
I think there is a bug in the answer field. Whenever a copy the value and paste into it, this part doesn't get accepted: "http%3A%2F%2F".

How can I answer it correctly 😅

the VPN is totally free, so you don't have to pay anything, and because you are using your own hardware, it should be much faster 🙂

There are some more things I want to report but one thing at a time maybe. For example, in Attackbox one cannot run wpscan. There are a lot of error messages. Even if one troubleshoots the machine, they will have to do the process all over again whenever they start the Attackbox

As an alternative, I use a VM on my local computer and connect via vpn

I have just completed a room of 150 points. the last 3 questions were answered one after the other, as when i escalated privileges I was able to get the answers to three questions (3 * 30 = 90) in a short time span. if someone though is getting 100 points every 2 minuted, then ok something else is going on

THM could do better with input
sometimes an extra space & you wonder why your "correct" input isn't passing

it's possible to reduce the "manual labor" for non sensitive inputs
a more sophisticated input sanitization would do

You can usually earn them during some events / ctfs . They happen every few months . Don't worry if you skip one day due to an unexpected situation that can happen in your life . Staff will restore your streak in that case 🙂

When it comes to using the attackbox that I have under premium, one issue I face is the disconnect from any other instance if I switch away from it, such as the target vm in Metasploit exploitation, msfvenom. anytime i would switch back to my attackbox, it would cause a disconnect and making it impossible to create a session on the target vm. So I'm wondering if it would be better to just use one of the vpn servers and use my own vm in order to mitigate such an issue or is it likely to be just an issue with internet connection? Never ran into this issue before but it has been constant for the last few hours, my connection to the internet isn't awful or anything and generally preferred the attackbox so I can use thm on any device without needing to do extra set up, however, I do understand it may be better perhaps to simply make a simple throw away kali vm to use for labs.

It is better to use your vm via vpn . Also to avoid logging out from your session you can try to start attackbox in full screen mode and keep using the target machine in spilt view . That way both will stay active 🙂

It only refers to "Old rooms" as rooms not released this month, and it also states: "give you 25% of the points to your all-time score, none for your monthly score". So these must be different rooms, since you're saying that some old rooms don't give any points at all.

Today (5/28) I am having the same issue.

Wreath OVPN file not downloading

Was able to download LateralMovement, and BreachingAD no issues
Tried Regenerate and still no luck
Reviewed the web request/ responses and only difference I saw was the ID ( 605a05f41789b962daf23e45 v. 62b779a82244211aa2c53453 ) and how the name of the OVPN file is appended to the username/account
Could it be an issue with CloudFlare hosting this specific file?

Hey guys, i don't know but i think the national leaderboards might be having issues. Unless there's some hidden activities i've not taken into account to rank points, someone with only 2 completed rooms this month is ranked higher than people who have completed 20-30 rooms this month. If you're referring to monthly leaderboard , only ctfs points are calculated for it . Walkthrough rooms aren't counted in monthly leaderboard

Is there an easy way to refine searches using tags when searching for rooms? It'd be nice to be able to just search for Windows vs Linux rooms consistently.

Recently, when I'm doing CTF in the afternoon, the instance is always forcibly terminated around 3pm, which is a problem.
It happens every day. 3pm Japan time is 6am UTC.

It may be early morning in Europe,
but it's midday in Asia. I wish they'd be more considerate.
