I'm trying to get through that one maze like part of Victory Road to get to the area that leads to Shaymin (Solely because I want to shiny hunt Duskull) and it's like every 3-7 steps there's an encounter, and encounters in that room are even slower because Game Freak really needed to show a fog animation every battle
Oh and you can mess up a puzzle because it's too foggy and you have to backtrack
Side note, looking at the Gen III sprites, I'm starting to think the sprites were probably made before the official art was, due to some of the strange inconsistencies between them

Yeah, yours sound more in line with the Unova run I did not long ago where next encounter had to beat the previous one's type.
And I got one encounter after each Gym Badge in areas up to the next Gym's town.
Elite Four team ended up being Roast the Emboar, Misty the Golduck, Lehnsherr the Magneton(On purpose for Eviolite and more speed), Skeledirge the Krookodile, Toxin the Roserade and Kirov the Drifblim.

Magneton is fine as it only tried to become Zone in Chargestone Cave. Plus, it being faster than Zone was handy.

It would bug me to have one on a playthrough team, it would give me a sense of not being finished and will annoy me to no end
It's not so bad if it's an earlier gen mon because that was it, it couldn't evolve furthur, but if I'm playing a later gen it would drive me mad

Like, some of them look neat, but my main gripes are stuff like lazy sounding names, the fact that gimmick wise they're just UBs, future mons have got lazy shinies, none of them have evo lines despite almost all of them being based on mons that do, and the feeling that Paradox mons don't quite reach the potential the concept has

Because if there was ever a link of any kind between them intended, that would explain why they both draw from fantasy creatures, why Gardevoir got the Fairy type seemingly randomly, and why both Gardevoir and Salamence got Paradoxes
