Allowed on Mount lanayru? What's that about again? ๐ค
Any suggestions, post them in the comment section. Like and Sub, more often than not, i sub back.
See you in the comments!! lol
THE Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild walkthrough and commentary
I do most of my videos live recording, so if you dont like it, it is because it is live.
lol
I have a license to use Nintendoโs content in thi...
Similar issue, but it's moreso with the community. Of course it's my decision to rush through the story at the end of the day, but after seeing other people do and have all this cool stuff in-game, I just felt the need to rush along with it. (Also the depths were getting slightly stale for me as I've spent the better half of the launch week in there)
...dunno if spoilers as I ignored trailers but ||I was not expecting to fight Whispy Woods in this games! Forests are not a safe zone, it seems...||
Peak enemy design
Going to explore around more before contining main quest more.
Have decided to brief return to it and got to the point I'm thrown 4 objectives ||as well at thrown literally. lol||
Made a beeline for the Great Plateau to explore there. Haven't died yet, but am regretting that choice slightly...
Think today, objective will be getting more armour.
What are everyone's main goals to complete in Tears of the Kingdom?
today's goal was to SPOILER FOR ONE OF THE VILLAGES ||free lurelin village||
||it was easier than expected
tried when I was weaker and got my ass handed to me, tried again today and it was a breeze, used a new robot to kill things for me, worked like a charm||
||if you wanna see the robot itself go to #event-debate ||
That one was very easy for me, except on ||the last monster. I had no idea where that thing was and even now I completely forgot where I found it||
||oh you mean the one guy down the well ?||
||This one sucked for me because i did it really early on where i put everything into stamina so i was fighting the black tier monsters with bad health, armor, and weapons.||
Also there was a bee in my room when i was doing it and it scared me ):
oh no that sucks
i'm apiphobic so i definitely relate
is apiphobic not a word
melissophobic ?
"afraid of bees and wasps"
||Yes, I wasted so much time looking for him||
||i found him on accident cause from afar there's smoke emanating from the well
so i thought "oh cool a villager is hiding there" because only civilians and koroks have smoke from their campfire
but no lol||
Not really got one yet besides acquire more armour. I just wanna explore still.
have you followed the main quest a tiny bit like some of us suggested ?
Yes, mainly cos ||I couldn't map out Hyrule|| so figured doing so would enable that aspect.
yeah wise choice
please give us your reaction whenever you encounter the big thing Nintendo concealed in marketing
That said...I made a beeline for the Great Plateau just cos I like seeing the start of past games.
And...well, I haven't died there...
it's funny how in this game the Great Plateau is ||a bit of a harder region akin to like, death mountain in botw, with black bokos everywhere||
But can tell I'm definitely meant to be here MUCH later. lol
Ngl the great plateau was lame except for one quest ||which was underneath it||
i went here early lol you're not alone in this #event-debate message
||Am proud of myself for taking down some enemies there using basically just Fire Fruits though. Got sweet weapons and one shield to use elsewhere now.||
you are not ready for ||the hands||
no one was
seriously i hate ||the hands|| so much like these shits ||respawn after they die||
and then you have the cherry on the cake
Crowd control
Just find a way to deal massive damage to a large group of enemies and they're gone
It's how I did the ||Master Sword quest||
yeah they completely ||die to like five bombs tops||
||its only phase 1||
||Phase 2 is easier though||
...dunno if I'm alone in this, but I actually miss Guardians.
i honestly don't
in the back of my mind they were the reason i almost never explored hyrule field
even if i could easily take them on, they're always a pain to deal with and take away some of your resources
now i can properly explore basically the whole map and i'm never really bothered by anything ever
Ancient arrows:
They forgot to make this lava hot
they take away some of your resources
Kill guardians > get ancient arrows > use ancient arrows to kill guardians
You can use the resources from the 'test of strength' shrines to get your ancient arrows, and valuable ores are very easy to find all around the map, so that's an easy way to get the rupees to purchase them
easy to get
i have like 100 of them
||There's a chance he met Sidon as a child as well, as Zelda met him during a flashback in BoTW's DLC.||
how do i unable ||thunder island quest||๐ฟ
What do you mean?
idk moz talked about a quest around this
What glider designs are you guys using? The glow effect of the ||twilight mirror|| fabric is pretty cool
have you done all four phenomenas
once that's done do the purah quest
once that's done go ||talk to Paya in Kakariko to inform her Zelda is spewing bullshit||
ok
i use the default one but once my ||guardian|| amiibo spamming pays off i'll rock that sweet fabric all day
I have the ||Cece|| fabric, which looks pretty nice and all, but what I'm really after is the ||Yiga|| fabric.
I personally am really liking the default one though, and it's not really something that I pay attention to, but it is something that I know other people can enjoy.
And the only reason I'll be getting the ||royal|| fabric is so that I have an excuse to fight that enemy again
i talked to purah but she didnt gave any quest
let's go in dms
man this game is really quite special
Truly is. Six years was quite a lot of time to wait, but still an amazing follow-up to one of the greatest games of all time
Although once you ||get the Master Sword and (which by the way doesn't even have a damage value this time around) you can literally kill black bokoblins in four hits, maybe three||
||as I did with botw I got it and am actively not using it||
||though it doesn't stop me from killing black bokos in four hits so idk most of my weapons deal between 50 and 70 damage lol||
Though it was pretty hard to do it, I just had to use ||Riju's sage ability as a sonar through the thunderstorm in which I can literally see less than if I were in the depths||
damn so you didn't do it the intended way
I use || lon lon ranch design ||
How do u get that? Amiibo?
Yeah, it's from the wolf link amiibo
i mean they're the same character
But is Nintendo generous
Once again, every way is intended. The game offers for much more freedom than Breath of the Wild, and we now are allowed to be as creative as we want when it comes to puzzles
weird
ehhh i'd argue it offers way less freedom imo
How less?
which isn't a bad thing i'm glad we're directed a bit more
nevermind forget i said anything

okay no idk where gdcons found his info but ||lon lon ranch fabric is either young link from smash or oot link||
Ya I got it from this one
oh nvm you can get the mirror fabric from multiple amiibos. Smash 4 Link, TP Link
yay thanks
... oh okay i got stuff mixed up in the convo lol
i thought tev asked how to get the ||lon lon ranch|| fabric
Ohhh
Before getting it I used the ||gleeok|| design
i am glad that so far yiga footsoldiers don't assault you every time you walk 100 meters in totk
hope it doesn't change
by far the most annoying part of botw
they spawned mostly on path and bridges
yeah well that's mostly where i travel
Then go off the paths and stay away from bridges
You might also find something you haven't seen before
no
Not much I can say for your next Breath of the Wild playthrough then, which of course will be very far in the future given the recent release of Tears of the Kingdom
But you can always use the knowledge if you decide to change your mind
Found Hetsu! Oh, glorious inventory space, we are finally reunited!
||At least the guardians got a semi replacement through the gloom hands.||
Been juggling weapons too often right now. lol
I'm still walking around with the base amount of inventory space. Being able to fuse items together is a great ability when it comes to managing inventory space, as it pretty much gives you double the space if you're exclusively fusing weapons to each other
How do you get that

O_o
||Just took down some of the Gloom hands and...oh, what spawned in was NOT what I expected!||
||Bring it on, Phantom Ganon!||
I was speechless
||What's interesting is that the second phase is easier, you just need to learn his timing and flurry rush as many times as you can||
||Speaking of which||
Take a picture of one and show it to the dye guy
||Yeah, I managed to bring him down easier than I expected. But still, sweet to face him!||
That's a thing?
||Though the hands were easier for me because apparently, a little height shut them out. Then bomb arrows went burrr. lol||
then you can get more
i'm using 10 slots for weapons and 5 slots for general junk
like i'm gonna carry 5 sticks that i fuse to like bomb barrels mid fight
I'm going to need more than 10 weapons.
and then throw what is essentially the tf2 grenade thingy
Been using the fusing feature a lot.
a Stielhandgranate
||I tried dazzlefruit and it pretty much had no effect, big disappointment given that it's such a wide radius, but I do believe that puffshrooms work to a certain degree||
||dazzlefruit does stun them a tad||
Throwing bomb flowers can pretty much get you the same effect
||dazzlefruit is such a useful item honestly
they one shot stal enemies||
yeah but you can't throw bomb barrels
but you can fuse them to sticks and create Stielhandgranate
which is fun and cool
?
i'm having fun doing that let me be
also throwing sticks goes further than throwing bombs
"just use a bow"
but then it's not a Stielhandgranate
Using a bow also consumes an arrow
yeah but i have thousands of arrows at this point
Just for people who don't have many arrows to spend
Does anybody know a good elemental counter against electricity?
Unless there just aren't any
(For offensive purposes, not in terms of armor and defensive stuff like that)
i don't think there is any
i tried throwing splash fruits/chu jellies on electric lizalfos to see if they would electrocute themselves
didn't work i thiink ?
Tried the same solution, it also did not work for me
maybe try using metal
Metal conducts electricity, it'll probably just give them an advantage if anything
Kind of unfair how fire has two counters, ice has one, but there aren't any against electricity
I don't think so actually
Tried it myself and from what I can remember, it didn't have the same effect as ice
maybe i'm tripping but i do feel as though electric lizal at least seem weaker than other lizalfos
to compensate for how bullshit their attacks are
Sometimes I just forget that splash fruit exist, and I just opt for regular Chuchu jelly. A pretty bad idea given that you can apply different elemental effects to Chuchu jelly, which you can't do with the different elemental fruits
the only different between fruits and jellies is jellies have area of effect
prioritize fruits when in non-hostile situation such as making an ice bridge or lighting something on fire...
Fire Fruit's been one of my favourites to use in combat.
Not even attached to an arrow. Just throwing the thing like a firebomb.
there is one material you probably haven't found yet ibli and it never fails to make me laugh
it's so efficient and so funny at the same time
Water element/dazzle fruit for gleeoks
i got my ass handed to me the other day trying to fight a fire one
i think i'll avoid them for a while like I did lynels in botw
I personally just use fruits in any situation, because if I throw a Chuchu jelly and the radius comes back to bite longer it explodes, that could be the difference between taking out half of a camp, or going back to my last save
all you have to do for gleeoks is stay behind cover or stay in the air
Thank you very much. I have yet to fight a Gleeok, but when I do, I just plan on abusing targeted lasers
i never cheese enemies
i'll fight them head on without meals like i always do
yes i never eat meals mid fight
good luck lmao
i'll fucking make up something
i'll install a turret or something
hmm i wonder if the ||muddle bud|| can make ||each head attack each other||
Probably doesn't work on boss-type enemies
Nintendo loves to do nostalgic throwback songs.... Especially in Zelda games
But why not the ocarina of time title screen ( best song in the franchise )
It's also the magic flute from Zelda 1
It's not fair. It's not fair arrergg
Found an even easier way to dupe
|| https://vxtwitter.com/melonman54/status/1660734441868910592?s=46&t=tmWPncn33u5pxGNECEAU9g ||
lol #TearsOfTheKingdom #Zelda #NintendoSwitch
||Glide, hold the items you want, press y & b at the same time||
slight zora spoilers btw
You can't hold weapons so I doubt it
Yes but with a different method
and yes
I'm going to try different items rq
...this reads so weird to me. Link fighting by levitating his arsenal to use! lol
works as well
Not clicking it to check out...but I think I might have stumbled onto a dupe method on my own...
let's gooo now i have a fully upgraded OoT set
the first few notes of ||Mipha Court|| are those of the ocarina title screen
it probably is a coincidence though
i'm entering the "gamedevs marveling at totk" rabbit hole and i'm not seeing something being brought up
Interesting, it'll definitely save on shields but I guess it's a bit slower than the shield jump method even if it dupes 1 more since you have to move around to get some height each time
maybe there's just a clever workaround i'm not seeing but how the fuck can you go from like, the southwest bottom corner of the map in the sky to the northeast corner of the map ||in the depths|| while walking all around the surface inbetween that and you could do it just with ONE loading screen at the start
like|| just entering the depths there seems to be some sort of loading period but it's.. seamless
and even then you think you can't get out of the depths through normal means but apparently no if you go high enough you will reach the surface and once again without a loading screen||
||there are also big blocks that allow you to ascend (like under akala labo or eventide island)||
and let's not forget that all the fucking villages and dungeons and facilities are ALSO in the world and don't require any loading
even botw had separate zones for the divine beasts, they weren't in the game map, they were contained like shrines were
how the fuck are the dungeons in the map
||yeah i know that but they can easily hide a loading screen during ascend, i'm not buying it personally, the sole fact you can ascend only in specific places makes me question stuff||
but like theoritically you could boot up your game right now and visit all the dungeons in one go without any loading screen
it'd take hours and be tedious as fuck but it's entirely possible and... how the FUCK
This is what I play games for:
Super Speed Glitches, Infinite Height, New Dupe, Whistle Sprinting Alternatives and so much more in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. This game is almost more broken than BoTW!

Credi...
OK, inventory storage I can do atm done ||after Hetsu left me after doing only 2. lol. Like how he's at one of the towns directly though.||
Am gunning with 8 Bow Slots, 7 Shield Slots and 13 Weapon Slots.
I have a feeling two of those shields are never changing. ||The "Mirror Shield" I just left a spot with feeling it'll be handy and my "Skateboard" I made on the first island. lol||
lol senna
Senna got the funky hat
Lol yeah I was glad that NPC returned from BotW
The loading times in this game are kind of whack
You're named after an NPC?
Tingle
In your opinion, which side character has the best name?
same
actually one thing || i cant believe ganondorf is not only a clone of captain falcon, but link too ๐ฉ || || literally link's dad ||
lastly || the guy in the Calamity prophecy ... i always thought that looked like ganondorf, not link. Anyway that could be him?? ||
|| how is that link ||
@zinc monolith i think we should go to #1101934327614418995 for all final boss talk imo imo
Based
Revali is a fun one to say.
Honorable mention to Urbosa
???
man i'm in kind of a pickle right now
i didn't think ending the game would shake me like that, i don't really wanna keep playing
if anything i wanna erase my save file and start over, really taking my time
i might do that
yeah i think i'll do that
(i often do that with games truth be told, hell i had like... what, 6 playthroughs of botw ?)
..hmm actually idk
should I ? i really wanna explore more too
yeah no i'll just explore more it's too early to redo things i've done a week ago, it would burn me out
You could always make a new account and save file
...I just tried out fusing the Boomerang with an Ice-Breath Lizalfos Tail.
Conclusion? I NEED to get more Boomerangs!
i have never once thrown a boomerang in totk
wait fusing one to a lizalfos tail is genius
wait what if you fuse a zonai device to it
...there's a good question.
wait why have i never used a boomerang am i mentally challenged
do i have problems
i need to find boomerangs omg
Also, the tail was neat cos it made it longer...but the Ice Breath tail? The boomerang was spewing ice as it span away and back to me!
okay yeah i need a boomerang
i think i fused a big boomerang to another big boomerang, saw it looked goofy, laughed, kept it in my inventory "just in case" and promptly forgot about it
I want one for every element if I can help it now. lol
oh my god you could probably use recall on failed boomerangs to catch them back
oh my god they fixed boomerangs with recall
i need to get boomerangs
Currently doing the Stables side-quests ATM cos I got showed the reward, I presume. And...going by the perks I've seen ingame, I think I badly want this reward's perk...
Also, I found ||the Fierce Deity kit! All of it!||
What is your favorite enemy to face off against in Tears of the Kingdom.
(If your enemy includes anything that might spoil the game for those who haven't seen it yet, please spoiler mark it.)
||๐ณ ||
The ||armored|| lynel ||under the colosseum|| was my favorite probably
I wish there were more of them in the game, very fun enemy to fight, aside from the novelty of how ridiculous it is ๐
i just like camps in general, managing multiple enemies is always very fun
if I had to pick ONE enemy though... probably the final boss
if that doesn't count... idk, ||Boss Bokoblins aren't exactly fun to fight but I really like their design and the way they command bokoblins, even if they're ultimately quite weak imo (and somehow impossible to flurry rush i swear)||
man i dumped all my weapons because they were all doing absurd damage
i shouldn't be able to kill a black bokoblin in two hits this isn't ok
i'm gonna try to use more creative fuses and start picking up worse weapons on purpose
#1095595712072388648 message
Kiuyoyou Shrine - Fire and Ice is absolutely the worst shrine i've encountered so far
had to look up the solution and honestly it makes no fucking sense
like how are you supposed to figure that out on your own
so after the wind turbine, ||where ice blocks are falling and melting, there's a metal plate resting against the wall||
you're supposed to ||pick it up, make it block the fire, pick up the ice block unharmed, stick the metal plate on top of it, make it slide along the spikes||
so far i'm okay with all that, sure, don't really know why you have to ||bring the plate along with you|| but ok
but turns out it's because the ||thing where it spits fire at the entrance, there's a fucking weighted switch underneath that and nothing tells you that||
That's part of the puzzle I guess, ||finding a way to get the plate over there||
Bruh lmao
so you have to ||put the ice cube + plate on that switch so the plate blocks the fire and the ice is weighty enough to press the switch||
||NOTHING tells you that||
i'm so mad
Yeah there should've been an indication that is there
This puzzle would've been fun if there was
in hindsight it makes sense that ||fire is spewing here if you know that it has to be blocked by the plate, hence why the plate comes into the question
but if you don't know that then to you the plate only had one use..||
|| ๐ฒ ๐ฒ ๐ฒ ||
yeah it would have been very fun I think
where
||East of where Serenne Stable was in BotW (doesn't exist anymore)||
i think 99% of people playing this game will never do the monster control crew mission
not because they're hard, but because I know about them because I watched nintendo treehouse and even I can't find them
i can find the boko camps i'm supposed to assault along the monster control crew, but the crew itself is nowhere to be seen
i forgot their existence lmao
they weren't that hard to find tbh
You've got a guy at Lookout Landing telling you where each team's camps are posted, and in every camp there is someone who tells you where crew has grouped up for their next assault.
he's in the underground bunker in Lookout Landing
standing next to a table that's next to a map of Hyrule
yeah but that's still so vague
"south of hyrule field" could mean anywhere when what you're looking for is someone on horseback and people behind him
and the fact it meant "southwest of the chasm" i mean... you could have just said that to begin with chief
i guess having a flying machine did make it easier to spot their campsites
if no red โ then i lost
No clue about the Hyrule Field one though since i stumbled upon them by pure chance after i left lookout landing for the first time
man holy crap this game is much much more fun if you stop fusing high tier weapons with hier tier horns
i'm intentionally picking up bad weapons and fusing it to dumb stuff
or using weapons until they're close to breaking, then repairing them with good horns so it feels both more fair and more climactic
I haven't had any trouble finding them personally
Oh, been meaning to ask...
Uhhh idk how to phrase this correctly but you guys will probably get it
just died two times to the Fort Hateno Control Crew mission and yeah i'm having way way more fun
i died to a monster camp this never happened before
||So far I've only been able to find weapons affected by the malice or something, making their stats low. Where do I need to go to find someone or something that can fix weapons and bring them back to their normal state?||
No specifics please, only give me a general location
do you want me to answer ?
as far as i've discovered for myself there aren't any
South Hebra, Lanayru mountain range, etc.
no worries
but also you're technically supposed to fix the weapons yourself by fusing them to materials
Fair
some stuff downright replaces the blade which is super cool
yeah the horns
I hate putting hammer objects on blades lmao
Just turns it into a blade with a goofy ahh horn on the end
I reserve these for sticks
one thing i really dislike is some horns make some weapons really short
Yeah
like the two-handed blades, if you affix any blade horn to it it looks duuuumb
i only fuse hammer materials to them
Rip Iron Sledgehammer.
Your design has been replaced by a rock on a stick

you could fuse a iron box to a stick and get a similar shape
man something i don't like is how bows didn't get corrupted
i thought they would justify bows being hella nerfed with the fact you can stick very powerful stuff to your arrows
but no bows are seemingly unchanged you can just fire 80-damage arrows willy nilly and the game thinks it's okay
Dunno if it's me but I feel like there's so much more arrows in this game
I have a huge abundance of them, while in BotW I often reached the 0 arrow mark
In TotK I stay at a solid 300
yeah no the game gives you more arrows for sure but also
And it's not like I hardly use them either
i wanna say, add up all the elemental arrows you have in botw
with your normal arrows
Fair
wouldn't that reach close to 300 too
cause lets not forget totk lets you make your own elemental arrows technically
Not at all lol
Don't forget to add context to spoiler marks lol
yeah i'm confused what you're talking about
No I mean as to what portion of the game it's talking about lol
I wouldn't have known this was about Gerudo town without clicking
One piece spoilers || poggers ||
I can't stop hearing Amogus in the || Shrine || theme
idk if you guys have found forest dweller stuff yet
but these might be the stupidest weapons/shields
they have a very cool bonus which i wont spoil
On the topic of spoilers, somehow magically... I'd be playing and discover something cool or progress the story... and then hours later I would see a vid about it (happened with the final boss)
This constantly happened as I was playing just dodging spoiler bullets
If I was just a little slower, I would have been spoiled ๐ God praise be thy name
100 IQ TikTok showing the final boss with "spoiler warning!!!" At the top
Like buddy, all the visual information already entered my brain thu my eye balls
im glad i can now not be spoiled
^^^
the only spoilery stuff for me is like stuff ive yet to discover and people usually dont spoil those
Ya little details and all that
Well who knows
Who knows what is yet to be seen! ๐ซก
I keep hearing this one pop song but I can't remember which one lol
Oh that reminds me
Lemme get a comparison
I was going to make a meme
lookout landing keeps japing me into whistling hateno's ancient tech lab theme
and then i'm like "no it shares the same motif but they're not the same songs !!"
100 IQ? So... average IQ TikTok?
What did he mean with this
I meant to say 1000 IQ ๐
Lol
man i think my next playthrough will be done in french
i usually never play games in french anymore but apparently the french localisation is VERY good
everything is more faithful to the japanese names
like gloom is named miasma in french and apparently miasma is more accurate to its japanese name
or the zonai ? in japanese it's the zonau
and in french, the sonau
That's the Dutch translation as well
(and the voice cast for some reason is BANGING like a lot of people in the voice cast are renowned french VA, a lot of them worked on the mario movie too)
As a Dutch person who usually consumes everything in English, the Dutch localisation is good
But if it had voices as well I bet it would suck
I would put it on Japanese either way
japanese is a bit too cliche for me
feels too anime
i mean i guess it's technically an anime but like
man what i'm saying is completely idiotic
Voice wise, I choose the one I understand fire ๐ฅ ๐ฅ
has anyone else gone to ||korok forest||
i think this was probably the creepiest part of the game for me
totally unexpected and made me actually sad
wym what part
nvm i gotcha
The background music for all the suffering settlements are either mega sad or creepy af. ||except goron city, that one just sounds doofy||
Beginning spoilers because there's a few people out there who haven't played the game at all yet: ||I love the new approach to the Temple of Time. It feels like it's both ancient and modernized at the same time with its outer structure, and I love that||
Welp i'm doing a bunch of shrines in bulk now and ||i can see where most of the Magic Rods have been all this time.||
are those actually good?
Yes, although they do have bad attack power
But if you're using magical effects, I think it's safe to say that you're not in it for the attack power
get an opal rod if you get to the ||zora arc||
I made a second rendition and it ate up all of my battery way too fast
gotta mine some diamonds to have better batteries then
I'm working up to it, also the enemy destroyed that one too
I have no idea how people go into these battles with all kinds of crazy laser tanks, pretty much killing anything in a matter of seconds, and here I am getting smacked out of my own car
skill issue
What's it do
Shoots lasers, but the targeting system didn't work and it just kept shooting directly upward for some reason
do you even have a targeting system there
i can't see it
all i see are 10 lasers on a sled
I thought of heading straight to the final boss, but I think that I should take the time to really take in the game and its mechanics first
||Sounds slightly rude but I hope it isn't||
The targeting system is in-between the front and top sleds
there's your problem
idk how it's oriented but first of all the sled is already aimed upward so of course the lasers are gonna shoot upward
but also if the construct head is oriented in the wrong direction it's never gonna aim properly
I learned that when the whole unit was taken apart on-contact
which is odd why did that happen
I was facing against a ||Gleeok||, and when I got close enough to it, all it had to do was ||start flying up into the air|| and that thing was gone
well there's your second problem
||lynels and gleeoks have attacks designed to destroy constructs||
I learned that about lynels like 2 minutes ago lol
I had a whole array of beam emitters set up
Yeah, but I've seen other people do the same thing all the time, whilst also managing to defeat them in seconds.
(Same approach, not the same machine obviously.)
today i tried fighting a ||gleeok|| and ||autobuilt 9 bomb barrells to drop on the poor creature|| and it barely made a scratch lol
i think bosses and strong enemies must have some sort of dps cap
for certain attacks
Fusing rockets to arrows has helped me a lot
This is another thing I've seen videos of other people doing with better results. Very weird how when we do it, it doesn't end up working as well
I think they just have a lot of health, u can kill a hinox in a second with some lasers
hinox are pus||hover||s though
true
So finished off the Great Fairy stuff, so am focused on upgrading my gear a bit now.
Mainly, the gear that lets me withstand temperatures and being guarded from fire so traversal isn't as awkward.
Running out of weapon space too for what I wanna carry, so I think a Korok hunt is on the cards.
Plus I've been ignoring Ultrahand's more advanced side, which is filled with all kinds of crazy and unique stuff to make
Been toying with Ultra Hand a bit more now, though I oddly still prefer going by horse mostly around Hyrule.
All I need is some floating platforms and rockets, because I'm planning on making something shown in the third trailer
||Oh, I also found another Great Fairy Fountain to open...after opening all four. I smell Yiga but am going to do it once I get what they wanted later. lol||
Has anyone else caught a Star Fragment as it's falling?
||Was it the Endura Carrot one? Pretty sure that's the Horse God.||
Using Recall on thrown weapons is awesome, although it's pretty hard to get the locations right when it's time to use the ability
Is it possible to beat the game without the paraglider
Is it possible to beat the game without touching any coins?
it is, it's just really really hard
I see, I'll have to try that sometime
Yes
Any% speedruns dont get the paraglider
That's awesome
Seeing people ask for ratings on their outfits, I've decided to do the same. What would you rate my outfit out of 10?
(I have it marked because I am wearing some newer pieces of clothing. Said items of clothing come from the depths, so if you've been there, then you probably know about them)
poor drip
Have properly started exploring ||the depths. Love how the map is the same as Hyrule's!||
my outfit is just the canon outfit
the hylian hood, champion's leather and hylian trousers
Mine's the best armor I've gotten, the Diamond Circlet, Champion's Leather, and Soldier's Greaves.
booo beta gamer armor
I used the Hylian gear when fighting the final boss, and after that went and grinded for other sets upgrade materials.
i like the soldier greaves + soldier.. idk armor look cause it's the look Link rocks in age of calamity
May of had the Diamond Circlet then though too.
what does diamond circlet do that amber earrings don't ?
Attack Up and 1 additional point of defense before upgrades
i see
Alot of the game I used the ||Miner's Mask||, and Hylian gear before I started going out of my way to upgrade equipment.
||miner mask???
||
It was what I happened to have managed to naturally upgraded as the highest defensive headgear, although I did replace it once I got the Diamond Circlet even with it because ||โglowโ|| is not useful outside of ||The Depths||.
i would argue the ||miner set|| is useless even in ||the depths||
I like the set just for the way it looks
oh yeah def it looks funky
I've been using the full ||glide|| armor set when I'm not in the cold regions because I like the ||increased air mobility when diving||. If I have to switch some of it I keep the pants though. Haven't unlocked much in terms of armor yet
What's crazy about it is that ||horizontal movement while skydiving||, with just two parts of the set is faster than Link's running speed
It's never terribly useful, unless you're trying to conserve ||light items|| for some reason. It could definitely of used ||better range||. I did manage to ||run to Gerudo Abandoned Mine from where Kohga apppeared prior largely without using light items somehow though||.
guys i found an ||army of humans||
yes that is called a side quest
Not the best looking armor set, but it's an amazing set to acquire for its level of functionality
I like it, but not so much its dyes.
yeah, the design isn't the best looking, and I'm not a fan of the way it changes when dyed. I just went with white so it looked a bit simpler
yeah i tried to dye it but realized it looked the best by default with the green accents
Old habits are hard to shake
Looks awesome
great plateau quest sucks, dont do it exept if you want some drip
Speaking of which, what is your favorite armor set in Tears of the Kingdom?
always a fan of the dyed hylian tunic in botw
gl
Man Zelda IS taller than Link
Hmm not sure if I prefer Adeline Chetail to Patricia Summersett
That intro is so cool
French Ganon is insane
nothing compared to german ganon
im not the only one then
What could it be
Apparently it's Jump Slash
you can probably unlock this one by doing shrines
most likely
I think i've found all the ones on the surface so i'm doing a bunch of them now
Ah
How much did you get done in your first playthrough?
Uh completion percentage said 46%
Played what 90 hours or so
Didnt do much of the side content which is the object of me restarting the game
Now that i dont risk getting spoiled i can redo stuff and take my time
Sounds like a pretty good reason to restart the game
i'm just doing as much as i can before i go for the final battle
something tells me the feeling of finality would make it feel wrong to keep playing afterwards.
Same actually, gonna try doing pretty much everything except all korok seeds
Are you going to collect all of the ||Bubbul Gems?||
at least the game gives you the means to track down the ones you're missing.
I really want the ||armor set|| that comes with it, so as tedious of a task as it might be, I really want that ||set of armor||
Eventually Koltin stops giving you hints, so it won't work for the whole quest
You don't need all for it, I think online it says you only need 47?
The game has 46, and if that's how many it takes for the ||headpiece||, then it looks like it will take all of them, because that's also the last reward he offers before leaving
||I just got the headpiece, and he was like 'I ate all these gems and I still have not transformed?! Maybe I need to eat all the gems! But I am out of stuff to trade...'||
||classic kilton brother||
Paraphrased because I don't remember the exact dialogue. And I have 1 in my inventory afterwards.
also how many koroks
I read that it's 1000?
And this is why I won't be doing all koroks
here we go 500 more useless shits
Cool for the inventory space, but the exponential increase in cost gets less worth it as I go along
Man, the shrines in the eastern half i got nothing but rods and scepters from the bonus chests but in the westers half of the map i get nothing but zonai weapons
...so there I was, hunting down the Dragons casually while seeking shrines...||saw the one from the start of the game fly by while doing some Sky Shrines...and the fricking MASTER SWORD is in it's head!? I was NOT expecting that!||
||the dragon is not called white dragon for nothing||
The ||light dragon|| is an absolutely beautiful sight to see in-game, and to see ||the Master Sword in its head|| is a really good prelude to some more late game ||story stuff||
||Do find the contrast funny between the beauty and awe of the Light Dragon...and the whirligig out of Spyro that I used to approach it. lol||
Wait what did you use to approach it?
A metal plank with fans on it's edges, the rear one diagonally backwards and the other four pointed forwards. Also threw a roof onto it with a spinning stick as...you know, Spyro fan. lol
Yeah, I actively aimed to try and make the Whirligig from Spyro 3. Kinda failed with a functional one, but that's where the fans pick up the slack. lol
||Like how the first opponent I face with the Master Sword is a Yiga Clan member that actually didn't make me instantly sus. lol||
So...today was productive...
||After getting the Master Sword, I decided to raid Hyrule Castle's upper part as well as map out it's depthes. Well, am now heavily kitted out with tough gear but also...I think I found the final boss! Let's slow down there, Ib. Go do some actual main quest stuff before jumping right to that! ||
On a side note, I also have a ||frog suit. Rain shall ruin my climbing NO MORE!||
||It still might, it just takes longer to||
1984
HOLY SHIT FRENCH PURAH SOUNDS AMAZING
She has like... her delivery feels incredibly natural
Her concern for Link's sudden reapparence rings true
no more dupe
Hm purah in French hmm
The duplication glitches are kind of unfortunate, people should play how they want, but if you get like 100,000 rupees in a second that kind of diminishes the rewards you get from side quests... What's it matter if you get 100 rupee reward for cooking some on a pizza? U know?
Or earning a diamond for doing something like yo I got 100 of these
Oh my gosh so the french version handles fuse in a neat way
If you fuse a thing to a weapon the thing will be converted to an adjective
So like, rock + stick = rocky axe
I fused an elevator to a sword and now I have an Ascending Sword
rocket probably
Theeee platform you have to attach to a wheel so it slides along a rail in the shrine west of hyrule field
Only found in this shrine i think
I can't picture it but sounds neat
After farming more stuff off the Dragons, I think I'll actually make some main-story progress and actually do one of the 4 main goals...||probably the Death Mountain one as I'm intrigued by that one the most right now.||
Then the next goal after doing that'll be to fully map out ||the depths.||
I'm annoyed because the hood toggle affects all of the Hylian Hoods in your inventory, so if you want one up and one down you'll have to use the toggle then buy a second, and never touch the toggle again.
You can, it's just that the option effects all the Hylian Hoods in your inventory.
get one, put one down, buy another one
now you have two hoods
one up one down
has anyone ever tinkered with Elixirs in botw in here
i noticed now you can combine a critter and a ?food item ???? and it will still make an elixir
hmm apparently you could already do that in botw
well it's never explained
(example, warm darner + spicy pepper + chu jelly = warm elixir
what perplexes me is the spicy pepper, i though those were a big no-no in elixirs but nope turns out they give you additional hearts i think ? extremely cool
||OK, seeking out the light dragon again hurts...not able to spot it at all. Evidently got really lucky with finding it earlier for the Master Sword out the blue.||
||Got gear I wanna upgrade, hence my hunting the dragons. Also kinda wanna stock up on certain parts of them for fusions, mainly the horns and the Light Dragon's Spike Shards.||
||iirc it goes around in a set path||
||...I mean, they all do. But I've figured out the other three's paths based on when they dip into the Depths. Light Dragon doesn't do that, so...yeah, not figured it's path out yet. lol||
||oh they all do ? i thought their paths were semi random||
||i wanna post a picture of the path but there is some spoil||
but yeah the dragon go ||in the four mains regions||
||Yeah, don't actually spoil it for me. Wanna try and figure it out. Found it once after all...||
Ibli do not click that
||I think they already got the master sword though ? so they can't track the dragon anymore||
||Based on something Zelda said in the cutscene when I got the Master Sword, I already presumed I'd accidently skipped a bit of story anyway. lol||
yeah there ya go disregard 13's advice
wasn't sure if you already ||had the master sword or not||
Yeah, I already did. Had found ||the Light Dragon while knocking out sky shrines and decided to head to it for parts cos why not. Was really surprised to see the sword in it's head.||
I'd say place pins wherever it might be, and then visit those pins when you see that it's out and about
Don't remember which shrine though or I'd be camping there. lol
Will likely do this. Did put pins on the ||chasms the other three dragon dip in and out off for tracking too.||
And if not pins, then you could reserve a specific stamp for that purpose
is it weird if playing totk makes me want to play botw
No
i think i'm starting to see the differences between both games and botw is definitely the most serene and contemplative game, of the two
totk can still be contemplative but i feel like.. less so
I feel like Breath of the Wild would be the more survival-based game, while Tears of the Kingdom would be the more creative, sandbox style game, whilst also keeping slightly more true to traditional Zelda games
also it really feels like for botw, the driving word was "exploration"
in totk it's moreso "experimentation"
they heavily heavily heavily want you to follow one path and to play the four phenomenas in a set order (rito goron gerudo zora), which is something botw never did
every time botw had to list all the champions, or all the races or all the divine beasts, each time they were in a completely different order
but when they list those same things in totk it's always rito goron gerudo zora
...going to throw out there that I didn't know there was an intended order besides Rito first. lol
Purah says this order
But that's probably cos I've been focused on that exploration myself.
everyone pressures you into going to the rito
and as you go to the rito everyone is like "you should go to woodland stable" which is near eldin
so naturally everyone says go to eldin
I feel like experimentation is the reward moreso for the exploration in Tears of the Kingdom, at least for me so far.
when you finish the ritos, in lookout landing there's a goron and they even make a point of making him forget the road to death mountain
Whereas Breath of the Wild, exploration is the game's whole vibe.
Does give both a swell and nicely unique vibe.
Breath of the Wild also feels more dangerous to just explore too, due to the Guardians.
If I had a nickel for every game I've played where ||a character lost their shirt at the end for literally no reason|| I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
...why did you mention that
it has nothing to do with what i said and is legit a real spoiler
But yeah, in short? Both games are about Exploration. TotK rewards it with Experimentation while BotW promotes more exploring later.
Not clicked it, but...would that be why they spoiled tagged it?
well it's not even a spoiler but also.. it is
like they state a very minor detail of the final battle
I've only been clicking ones that were actual responses to me so far.
Every other one, I've deemed out of bounds. lol
Not the final battle, but the cutscene after it
but why are you talking about it lol
what does it have to do with me noting totk can be contemplative
I accidentally hit reply
So, although the Great Plateau might be one of, if not the most iconic starting area from any video game, I'd like to hear your guys' take on whether or not the Great Sky Island is better.
Which starting area is better? The Great Plateau? Or the Great Sky Island?
ooh
makes sense
so i'm the prime person to reply as I just restarted the game
great plateau clears for one big reason
who ||lost their shirt in botw||
great sky island is a symptom of this game being more linear
they use the concepts of isolated sky islands you have to go from one to the other to impose an order
and it's very clever cause you don't notice it the first time
Sky Island is definitely more linear
sometimes you can deviate off the main path but they clearly push you to do ultrahand > fuse > ascend with heaps of rewards along the way
it's very clever and once again doesn't feel like a tutorial but as an isolated experience i can't help but feel as though the great plateau was strictly better
everyone did something different on the great plateau but i don't think it's the same case for the great sky island
Was there a full path to get to Rewind? I used Ultrahand to build a ladder ||to get up the icy cliff||.
||I actually did notice the linear nature of it, not sure who didn't.||
I personally think the Great Sky Island is better because of its linearity, especially towards the end when you use Ascend to get to the wing and glide back to the big building
i think i was too uhh infatuated to notice it
the second time around it was glaringly obvious
||Not Botw, it's a similarity with Kingdom Hearts of all things.||
also yeah i guess that makes sense... i keep thinking linearity is bad but sometimes i can just allow the devs to make you do fun stuff
but also i don't think you can beat the great plateau
I preferred the Great Plateau myself.
like the great plateau... at least the first time, man was it good
and every time i redo it it gets even better
like it's just the highlight of my playthrough, it's so expertly balanced, plenty of side content, plenty of secrets and hidden stuff
makes me wish the whole game was smaller but as compact as the great plateau
I feel like I did do stuff out of order on the Sky Islands...but the HUGE advantage the Great Plateau has in addition to being more open is that Hyrule as a whole feels like that starting area on steroids.
The Sky Island don't exactly feel like the rest of Tears of the Kingdom to me overall.
yeah one thing the great sky island has that is scummy is making you think this is also gonna be the case
if anything the great sky island is the most you'll spend in the sky
it's the biggest archipelago in the whole game and it's... ehh i wish they had way more islands man
i'm gonna say it the sky islands suck lol let's gooooo
their aesthetic is amazing but they're so sparse, so small and full of nothing
I actually enjoyed going back to the Great Plateau in this game much more than the Great Sky Island too...||even if I did end up revisiting the Great Plateau FAR too early! lol||
if the dlc doesn't add islands everywhere i'll be sad
The difference of colors between ground and sky probably helped leave that impression.
Kinda, but I'm more on about how the world itself is built too.
I mean, the Sky Island isn't built in a way that I'd say matches Hyrule itself ||nor the Depths below|| while the Great Plateau is.
In a way, both are great tutorial areas, but the Plateau prepares you better for the game while the Sky Island prepares the game mechanics moreso.
||Wish there were more bigger non-story areas there.||
yeah same
I completely disagree. Only thing I'd say is that they're heavily underutilized
as they stand most sky archipelagos are just.. shrines
yeah that's what i'm saying 13
Found it! :D
its just arena or balls
you have like two important things in the sky
if we dont count ||dungeons||
How long till they update and add creative mode
Speaking of, and [SPOILERS FOR RITO AND ZORA PHENOMENA] by the way.
||I love how the prelude to the Stormwind Ark has you using these ships flying around it like trampolines, eventually getting to the highest point of the game, which is one of the most beautiful sights to see in-game, but other than that and the nearly perfect Water Temple, there's really not much going on in the sky.||
Man
||wind temple|| is peak totk
It would make sense for the Gorons to be second because ||the first great fairy you can save is on the road between lookout landing and Goron City. It's honestly kinda weird how they're scattered all over the place yet only one specific Fairy can start the questline.||
man tears of the kingdom is awesome
Trying to do everything fast and I still don't feel like I'm done with even half of the game
||Tulin and Yunobo's Sage abilities are the most useful in my opinion, so it's better to do them first. Still did Zora before Gorons because I figured I may as well copy what I did in BoTW.||
man Teba's character design is PEAK
a bit sad he isn't a sage like the other descendants cause he'd absolutely be my favorite
oh wow boomerangs are op now thanks to recall
and fusing stuff to them is super fun
i fused aerocuda wings to one, now it deals more damage and travels faaaaar
Topaz:
Also pretty much anything is overpowered with Recall. This may or may not be true, but I don't think thrown weapons use any durability if you throw it behind an enemy and use recall
lol you can hit a guy, use recall right after it hit and it'll hit them back
It surely didn't break on-contact when I tried it in a shrine, so that might be worth looking into
a lot of weapons break when thrown sadly
use ice item on it
boomerangs being the exception
yes i get it use elemental items on boomerangs i'll do it eventually let me live i have 600 hours to sink into the game
i'll get to it
boomerangs are busted #event-debate message
?
when thrown at opponents ? is that what you want me to add
No, I was referring to how weapons don't break if you throw them without hitting enemies, and then using recall to hit them
ohhh
i thought you meant throwing them at enemies and then using recall to hit them again
to which i thought "well boomerangs are good at that"
Of course not, as I know most weapons break when you throw them, which is why I've found a way to deal damage by throwing weapons (very likely not double though) without having them break once thrown
Casually exploring ||Depths||, mapping out the map.
||Stumbles onto Fire Temple. So...that's a thing!||
||Don't think I'm going to take it on right now though. I'm presuming this is related to the Goron stuff and I wanna take this on as intended, so will get here down the line.||
Don't confirm if I'm right. lol
||it's actually related to the kokiri stuff, they brought them back from ocarina of time||
Okay, what's the secret to finding entrances to caves, because I'll be using the sensor and it says to go right here but I can't find the entrance ever

Did you try uhh
Related to my last spoiler, ||I love the way that this part of the depths looks! Not just the temple, but the surround area being like the inside of a volcano is such a lovely shift from the usual look of the depths so far!||
There's a ||cherry blossom tree in every region. If you drop an apple (or any fruit?) in the bowl next to it, a Satori will appear and highlight every cave entrance in that region with a beacon for a little while.||
If I got it correctly, at least. Haven't been to every region yet.
When do they tell you that

I remember a gerudo telling you something about cherry blossom trees... But I just don't really read anymore
Maybe it's hidden somewhere in a journal or something, that would be cool.
Thank you for this information
Skill issue

Yeah, there's a ||Gerudo that mentions a spirit lurks near cherry blossom trees and that it likes apples|| that's your hint.
Welp i've gotten all the shrines now and the jump attack section of Special Controls are still not there
I love how the swirling energy make it way easier to find an unsolved shrine
[I DON'T QUALIFY THIS AS A SPOILER BECAUSE THIS COMES FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME, BUT IF YOU DO, THEN PLEASE DO NOT READ]
||What reason does Ganondorf have for raising up Hyrule Castle at the beginning of the game? All it really did was drain him of quite a lot of his power for what was essentially just giving the castle a cool aesthetic, when he could've used that power for something much more useful||
While I slightly agree that's not much of a spoiler, I feel others might disagree overall. And it's probably safer to spoiler-tag what you aren't sure counts as a spoiler anyway.
Again, I feel this was fine. That last part's mostly for future note.
|| he woke up when link and zelda got there so maybe it had something to do with that, or it was just a coincidence that his sealing power wore off till then - there's a stone tablet that says as long as the castle is there, ganondorf is locked away ||
Oh yeah I forgot about that part of it ๐
but what triggered it is still unclear to me
well ofc he still had power because calamity ganon was doing stuff
Side note: Wonder what has become of the ||rat|| in the opening scene
probably just a pile of ashes tbh
Would've been cool to see a ||gloom rat enemy or miniboss though, given that it corrupts pretty much anything||
it mostly tends to kill things first though
what it doesn't kill becomes sick
and what doesn't become sick get's corrupted
Actually wait scrap that it doesn't sound very interesting at all
So in my depths exploring today, I found a couple of swell things.
First, ||I found all the parts of the Twilight Tunic! Awesome to have one of the classic green tunics!||
And second, ||I encountered Kohga and thus have an Auto-Build ability. There are a couple of things I've been building to roam about with often, so this is awesome to have as an ability!||
...oh wait, Third! ||I also found Majora's Mask...it cost me a few bows and plenty of healing meals as I'm out of practise fighting Lynels and was unaware I'd walked into a boss rush of them basically, but point stands!||
||Really like how the stuff that was Amiibo Exclusive in BOTW isn't anymore in TOTK.||
I absolutely love that last point, no reason why so much more great content should be locked behind a twenty dollar figurine
I used ||majora's mask|| for the first time today, || it makes most enemies docile|| ... so what's the point of the || bokoblin, lizalfos, horriblin, and moblin mask (and lynel?) ||
||It was DLC in BOTW so Pay-to-win was it's purpose||
I get that for that game, but why now ๐ฉ
|| earning it after the batlte? harder to get the crystals ||
I guess just making it available like all the other old DLC armors just on principle
Damn if it trivialises other parts of the game or not
Someone let me know if I'm safe to click those spoilers...
Like horses and stables
Because when you think about it (and I'm not saying everyone does this, but I know people have done this one or two times for Breath of the Wild), but that's sixty dollars for a game, with an extra twenty for DLC, plus let's say you get two amiibo figurines for outfits or something like that. That's good hundred and twenty dollars spent on a game, and a third of that was spent on outfits that cost the same, if not more than the entire DLC
I have not touched a single horse ever since i managed to make a cheap reliable vehicle
I've always thought of Amiibo as your mainly buying the figure. What it does ingame is a bonus IMO.
But then again, I only have two Amiibo. And that's counting the Shadow Mewtwo card for Pokken! lol
I despise amiibo because i just want the content they unlock in the games yet the figurines are just so needlessly expensive
I have not touched a single horse in a while because im either fast traveling too much or in the ||depths||
I did use a horse a fair bit in Hyrule. But I suspect that's no longer going to be the case since obtaining ||the auto-build ability. lol||
meanwhile after they have been used they just collect dust until the next game that they're compatible with comes around.
I don't despise them like you do, but the rewards aren't worth the price point
The only Amiibo I've ever disliked that "locking-off content" part about is the Samus Returns ones. Locking out a sound test, an art gallery and especially an extra difficulty feels...off.
btw is the ancient horse armor in the game? or at least a different horse armor that's functionally the same?
The Metroid's lucky it's nice and squishy.
If it is then i haven't found it yet.
And i just recently finished the last shrine and yes, ||just like pre-champions ballad BOTW there are not enough blessings to max out your hearts and stamina||
Maybe it's the last ||pony point|| reward?
I guess i did touch a horse recently i suppose.
||It was mostly just to max out all of it's stats on a whim.||
Didn't Shovel Knight used to unlock multiplayer?
I don't remember. I owned the 3DS version, so never cared.
put a fruit in the sakura of the region (with the gerudo)
||find blupees, shoot them, follow them||
i give up searching
why has no one recreated the third trailer theme for totk yet
all of the parts are available on the internet without sfx you just gotta combine them and idk fine tune it a bit i'm not a audio magician idk how you do stuff
i literally have all the individual parts in my computer as we speak but have no clue how to combine them without it sounding awful
You can probably look for someone to commission it on Twitter
Or look up a YouTube tutorial on how to remove audio clips properly
After running away previously I finally decided to pick a fight with "||the hands||", at Akkala this time
Defeating them was fun, and then ||the health bar popped up||

Never played Dark Souls but this was one hell of a Dark Souls moment
Does feel like that when going up against it
ihope to have all shrines done before tonight is over

Still mapping ||the depths myself.||
||Expanded my battery so I can fly around it more easily.||
||Just ended up in front the Great Deku Tree too and...well, he's seen better days...||
ok guys im doin the final boss
hands down the most ||unsettling|| moment in the whole game
man fusing zonai devices to boomerangs is funky but it does take a lot of battery
I DID IT
What's the deal with Hyrule Castle? Can you just go there and explore? Or does it trigger something story related? It seems like the ||champion's tunic|| is hidden there
lots of good stuff
Go to the memory near ||Lurelin Village|| for a hilarious time
Yeah, you can explore it freely, assuming you can get up there.
I got ||the Champion's Tunic|| before i did any of the Regional Phenomena.
also ||hylian shield||
Same. In fact, I haven't done any of the regional phenomena yet.
Been playing around in this playbox too much. Goron stuff'll be done tomorrow though. Do wanna see that one through.
I have however explored Hyrule Castle. ||Partly to find the Hylian Shield as I incorrectly assumed it would be on the seperated upper part, but regardless, have done a full browse of there and got the Champion's Tunic too. My exploring included the depths below...I know where the Final Boss is. But don't wanna conclude the game yet.||
If you liked BotW, you'll like this
Stayed up till 2 AM playing this game I may or may not like it
If this OST doesn't win any awards then idk anymore
In a good way, I think
Just like how the game is pretty much BotW 2.0
It takes (and improves on) what's great from the original and adds in every bit the original was lacking
one thing i love love love about the level design of totk btw
they either take underutilized places from botw and add new important stuff there
or they recontextualize existing areas and make you go through them BACKWARDS
it's so so so cool
I don't think I've experienced the latter yet
like lindor's brow, there was no reason to go here in botw, i discovered it VERY LATE by complete accident, and in totk there's a tower there and i'm like LETS GO
What region is that again?
Ohh there lmao
they butchered Lindor's Brow by adding the tower though
was much more beautiful in botw
what are sages purpose except ||distracting enemies during final boss||
Anyone have any good replacements for rivoli's Gale?
Burning spicy peppers makes you go extra high in this game. Pretty much just revolley scale whenever you want
But what other ways to go up if you don't have any of those spicy foods
A slower option, but you can always use a makeshift hot air balloon
Or attach a rocket to your shield
Two Springs fused together goes rather high.
fuse a bomb to your shield then shield surfing is a quick option
I like how easy it is to tell when Tev uses speech to text when it comes to stuff like this
Please only click the spoiler if you've completed the Rito and Goron regional phenomena.
||I beat a moblin by doing absolutely nothing. He got shot in the head by Tulin's avatar, then smacked by Yunobo's avatar, and then he got struck by lightning because the fight happened during a thunderstorm.||
||Tulin and Yunobo are both useful in exploration because Tulin's is a horizontal glider speed boost and Yunobo can replace bombs and smashing weapons.||
purpose ||in story||
Good question
||To owe Link a favor, I guess||
the champions got a job to help link to literally oblirate ganon healthbar without ||magic rocks|| but the sages were just here to ||avoid boss rush or something like they got the most powerful items in the entire fucking lore and they didnt use it||
I finally learned how to take down a ||Gleeok|| and it's so unbelievably easy now
The first one i actually tried to fight and took down was a ||King Gleeok||.
idk how i got the blueprint but there's an autobuild schema stone that's three springs and a spike
goes super high
Hmmmmmm fascinating!
but yeah a lot of stuff are just revali's gale or stuff that goes even higher
rocket shield goes higher than revali's gale
campfire+pinecone goes about as high
hell ascend goes as high as you need to go
springs make you go super high
i'm convinced people complaining about the lack of revali's gale aren't playing the game properly
Nearly finished mapping|| the depths now. 5 spots left, I think. One I think is part of another objective, so going to do it after the rest of the mapping. And another...I have no clue how to get to, but am going to figure it out! ||
||Also found a few neat weapons, main two right now to me being the Sea Breeze Boomerang and a undecayed Royal Claymore! ||
||Also been toying with Autobuild a lot. Got a Cannon Tank, a Laser Tank, a Flying Hovercraft and a weaponised Flying Hovercraft. Wanna make a podracer now.||
How do you find all shrines in sky
Using the ||scanning feature on the purah pad||. And keeping an eye on ||trends of what kinds of islands they tend to show up on.||
If you have difficulty finding them then you can also look at where you haven't been on the Hero's Path mode on the map screen to know where it might be worth exploring.
omg ||jenga||
Is there a way to remove ||monster statues|| from Kilton's exposition?
I accidentally made ||two Talus statues||
What attack is the hardest for you to parry/dodge
I can never flurry rush the boss boko
The only attack i can dodge from them is their punch
Tarrey spoilers
||So proud of this house||
Flamethrower boomerang is quite fun to use
||minecraft||
Surprised they didnt make zonai boomerangs
Attaching zonai devices to boomerangs just feels right but their energy consumption is too much
You can always use crystallized charges to increase your maximum energy
Neat!
||Mine is more of a mini hub. Got a triangle-shaped house with bed, fire, pray statue. Got a stable out in one corner and got a weapons, shield and bow display in another structure.||
Will get pics of it in a bit for ya.
It probably sounds more impressive than it actually is. lol
Like Senna, Tarrey spoilers here.
||Here is my little spot. Stable out on it's own, a gallery on show and the main house.||
||Might toy with tweaking it a little so that there is a water bed behind the stable at least...||
||Well, that layout changed fast. There we go! Horse has water now.
||
Does anybody know of any weapons/shields/bows that don't respawn after a blood moon?
Made #1112804311978741830 real quick
Knowing now that Zelda NPCs are just miis.... It's so obvious
Quite literally a mii
I can't unsee it either lol
right but i'm in the beginning of the game, haven't explored the depths yet
It feels so incredibly obvious in this game...
Spring Quest Reward is based
So if you guys are interested
The chamberlain who recounts the events of the imprisoning war through the 13 sky stone tablet is apparently a woman according to the french localisation
Dude lol they didnt put any effort in the ancient hylian in french, they just gave us what the chamberlain wrote in like, understandable french
You see the English translations for some of those tablets?
It's comprehensible but you have to exert a bit of brain power to understand the non-noun words
well yeah but that's the thing, in french they just spell it out for you
and you still get the interpretation of the guy afterwards, as if the text he just read wasn't clear enough
Man Traysi is a bit sussy.
Hears about some|| "barely clothed folks"|| hanging around near the Foothill Stable.
Admits how she was planning on investigating that case herself for once.
Then becomes visually pissed when she says Penn snatched the case from her before she could get to it.
So been toying with the building you can do with vehicles a fair bit and am considering doing a showcase of some of them. Not all, as one is just a pair of springs and another is that hoverbike it seems everyone online's made. Was proud when I came up with it and then humbled when I saw EVERYONE did.
But beyond that, I've gotten a few I'm pleased with, including weaponising that hoverbike.
Anyone else toyed around with building stuff with Ultra Hand a lot?
People have also already weaponized the hoverbike by combining it with the goblin glider design and slapping some cannons or beam emitters on the sides.
I've personally found beam emitters to be much more reliable especially when going between ||enemy mining sites in the depths.||
More consistent DPS .
Safer to take off while an enemy is on your ass.
Doesn't break too many deposits at once causing a ton of mineral items to despawn due to too many items being on the field at once.
Doesn't send the minerals flying everywhere so it's easier to pick up.
Quite reliable though it has taught be that construct heads and fans do indeed have an expiration timer similar to rockets and wings.
Oh, I didn't think of Goblin Glider side fans. Mine is simpler in that I added another fan to the front one then threw lasers on the side of the steering stick.
And yeah, have noticed it expires. But I suspect it's the weapons themselves triggering the despawn as the usual two fans and stick setup hasn't despawned on me while flying across the map. The game just seems to despawn the while thing as there is a lacking main body, I'd guess?
this game is great but it's even better if you follow the intended path
did you know you're supposed to encounter a frox quite early on in the depths
they also set up and tease the return of Kohga a bit before you actually encounter him which is cool
||Looking for cool stuff outside of the beaten path works too||
oh yeah deffo
but you're supposed to loosely follow the intended path while zig-zagging to the cool stuff
Does anybody know a good spot to consistently find Dinraal?
Okay but ||going into the korok forest depths first was really cool||
uh no but i know the ice dragon dives in kakariko chasm at around 9 pm
||i think you're supposed to discover that one on your own so yeah no real intended path there||
||or well the Minshi Woods Chasm is the intended path technically||
||my point was I didn't do the hyrule depths quest first||
I know where both Naydra, and Farosh like to go. Their paths are very easy to follow, but for as long as I've been playing the game, I haven't seen Dinraal once
Also im pretty sure they don't follow in game time anymore like botw
i've seen dinraal in the depths once
pretty sure they do, we were playing with my sister together and when she was riding naydra it dove into the chasm at around 9 pm
i was in kakariko around that time as well afterwards and saw naydra do the exact same thing at around the same time
the ||light dragon|| doesn't at least
||light dragon follows a set path but i don't think it does that in a perfect time loop yea||
can we talk about one addition i love
the lucky clover gazette and the fact you can see people reading it in most settlements
and they'll actually read about recent stuff you've done or stuff you have yet to do
it's amazing
Dinraal is the fire one, right?
They tend to fly north of Death Mountain from my experience and I know they fly out of the Chasm by Tarrey Town.
man yeah going the intended path is so cool
i got so much lore and info about the gorons by doing that
also the slow introduction of marbled rock roast
you could even ||technically go do a quest where you actually go mine for marbled rock roast then deliver it to someone before you even realise it's something bad
and then you deliver it and you're like... maybe i shouldn't have done that||
also in french marbled rock roast is called "savouroche", a pun on "savoureux" (delicious) and "roche" (rock)
man i'm so impressed by how modular the difficulty can be in this game
people who are absolute shit can still have fun and do crazy stuff because the game is super lenient
if you use all the options the game gives you it's a very easy game
but if you want to have a challenge (like me) then just like in botw you can self-impose rules and they work like a charm
I completed the ||Dragon Tears|| Quest and ||Master Sword|| Quest before doing any of the Regional Phenomena and the Lucky Clover Gazette missions and needless to say it made the whole ||find zelda|| and ||impostor zelda|| plotline really fucking annoying. Since you and (by extension Link) already know ||the truth||, yet Link doesn't even bother to explain shit to any of the other characters working their ass off to try and figure things out, while constantly ||falling for obvious traps and deceptions|| just because the story demands it so. Making Link look like an absolute buffoon.
So yes, i'd definitively say there is an intended order of doing things.
if you want, you can go visit ||the Forgotten Temple|| if you want Link to actually ||say he knows where the actual zelda is to someone||
Sure but that's ||one person out of several dozens||
yea
there's a point in the story where you can actually ||tell some people that Zelda isn't Zelda|| and it is quite satisfying||
Link is the kind of friend that let's his friends burn themselves on the stove
finally someone fucking loses their mind like I did a week ago
spoiler for Tarrey Town and bosses
||https://fxtwitter.com/willy_crescent/status/1662914045249478658||
yeah, i was surprised too that the ||pose was the exact same as the picture||
My best guess is that ||the game saves the bone co-ordinates, active armor layers and keyshapes of anything the camera is able to register, then applies those to the statues.||
||...wait...is it only monsters? Or could you have a sculpture of the Yiga Clan up? lol
Oh, actually...could you get one of Phantom Ganon?||
No clue, haven't done the whole quest yet. My best bet is that ||they only bothered making it a thing for the specific monsters that Kilton wants.||
you can get ||phantom ganon|| and also ||the final boss||
||no they made it for every monster||
Guess they did make it into an over-arching system then
||...but not the Yiga Clan still? lol||
makes sense
||Kilton wants like idk 5 monsters maybe ? maybe 10 at most||
||but you can build far more than 10 monsters||
i don't know
Depends if they show up in the compendium i guess
||can you even register yiga clan members in the compendium||
I've not been doing that yet as a whole TBH, so no clue.
Wish there was a compendium section of NPCs
||There would be so many statues of Purah||
Will be blunt. Was more focused on making my podracer work right.
But having ||a statue of Phantom Ganon sounds fun to put up. So might get on this quest line. lol||
Do the ||mace and spear Phantoms|| ever show up again or is it story exclusive?
||The mace one faced me outside of a story segment, so I presume it should. Not faced a Spear one yet.||
||the first phantom i ever faced had a spear, he was the gerudo desert lomei labyrinth one||
||the phantom that's west of Kakariko has a mace||
||Ey, my Mace one was in a Labyrinth too! The one in the top right corner's lower section below the maze but not in the depths.||
||So maybe all three have each weapon across them?||
so has anyone done any ||labyrinth
i heard you have to progress from the sky down to the depths for some reason, is that the case for all three ? i haven't explored them at all, past defeating a phantom ganon in the south one on the ground||
||is there technically 9 labyrinths to explore in this game ? lol||
I've done them all. ||You have to do the ground one first, then the sky one and then dive from the sky one down to the depths to do a battle there.||
Won't say more than that.
||okay... but what happens if i reach let's say the north one in the sky ? cause i think i can reach without too much problem
will i just see a message like "no you idiot go to the ground first" or something ?||
||Kinda. If you try to trigger the maze, which for the record you do need to do, then it'll point you to the bottom and say do there first. However, not only can you kinda cheese the bottom ones by doing it from above, but there is a shrine at the entrance to each Sky one, so you can fast travel right back.||
||Likewise, you can't access the depths part until you do the sky maze.||
okay well thanks for all these infos
i'm kinda excited cause they look cool i hope they're at least better than botw
Fun fact: This was a feature in Breath of the Wild as well, but as it turns out, if you get hit by something that would usually kill you in one hit, it would just take you down to a quarter heart. ||(Personally a feature I don't like because it takes away difficulty from the game)||
This feature was removed in Breath of the Wild's master mode, so I hope it makes a return in Tears of the Kingdom.
