can't wait for ganondorf to say "it's ganon time" and dorf all over link
he better have a beard this time if he gets ârestoredâ or whatever
oh crap yes i hope he has a beard
skeletal ganon permanently would still be cool though
but i think he won't get rehydrated
something different
yeah i think we'll get skeletal ganon still
and it was by far the worst part of the game
It was basically a cutscene
I liked it đ
itâs not exactly final boss material nor is it very hard in my humble opinion
the sequel should definitely nerf bullet time because with most enemies, including the boss you could just use bullet time and like spam a multishot bow with bomb/ancient arrows and win
no it was kinda cool
the cinematic element really doesnât make up for just how easy it is
who cares the hard fight was before
the cool pig fight is the reward
with the most epic music in the whole game
- if the pig fight wasn't here people would complain the final boss of the most open ended game ever takes place in a closed place or whatever other bullshit
it wasnât hard though
- cool pig doesnât look very cool and the easy stuff does suck
they couldâve made it hard very easily as shown by bosses like Maz Koshia and literally every previous final boss in the series being decently hard
well yeah if you completely suck the marrow out of the game the final fight is gonna be easy af
try master mode without having freed the champiosn and come back to tell me it was easy
try the dlc which came out after a year after the original release and purposefully challenge yourself and tell me it was easy

the whole point of the game is that you're getting stronger in order to face ganon
of course if you did everything the game had to offer you're gonna steamroll the final boss
that's my point
brush master mode aside i'm just saying this for the added difficulty but honestly doing the divine beasts but not freeing the champions is something you can do and it doesn't whittle down the boss's health
other games even in its own series do not follow this principle
the final boss should be the hardest one no matter what and it just isnât
you shouldnât have to handicap yourself to get challenge out of it
ah yes let's compare botw to the rest of the series, they're both extremely similar afterall, botw isn't trying to change the formula or anything
ok that's just not true, final bosses aren't supposed to be the hardest bosses in their games
you shouldn't but you can
what
itâs supposed to be a test of all the skills youâve learnt
which is what maz koshia did which shows the devs can do this
yeah but it's not supposed to be hard
yeah but maz koshia isn't the final boss he's a secret boss
that's why he's hard
ânope lol just use a bow which fires totally straight against a boss which has one attackâ
thunderblight is also hard because ???
heck the lynels are harder than ganon so your point doesn't stand
what
wait no actually it does
it absolutely does that makes it stand more
the final boss should be the hardest because thatâs standard unarguable game design
right, bosses
uhh is bowser the hardest boss in odyssey
(idk what other games you've played)
yes
none of the bosses in odyssey are hard but I would put bowserâs final one as the hardest
oh if you mean postgame stuff too then maybe not
but botw literally has no postgame
well yeah see the idea of postgame defeats your point though
apart from one quest which doesnât even count towards 100% completion iirc
postgame bosses are and should be harder than the final boss
there is no postgame boss
maz koshia ?
you usually don't
I think (?) I think thatâs what I did
i didn't
if the game allows you to then itâs at least one of the many intended options
but like, put botw aside, the statement of "final boss should be the hardest" is just false
why
ok but itâs fair to say no boss before the final one should be harder
after the âfinalâ one then yeah sure
not necessarily
botw just does it weirdly where one of the 4 blights is the hardest boss in the game
for instance mother 3 the hardest boss in the game isn't the final one in this game
it's either the mecha draco or the instruments in the attic
is the final boss still hard
it is hard but not harder than other bosses
ok Iâll make an exception if the game generally has hard bosses but
heck the one boss right before the final boss is harder
botw has one hard boss that you donât have to pay extra money for
ancient arrow
that doesn't count
âbut thatâs too easy!!!!â its an option
if you want to loot them
it is an option
so is pexing until you're level 99 in all RPGs
is it the intended solution ? no
ancient arrows are costly and rare
step 1: go the top right corner of the map
step 2: profit
yeah it still costs a lot of rupies
actually for a change of conversation and also to make it sound like i donât totally hate the endgame because i donât
hyrule castle is imo probably the best part of the game
most similar to normal Zelda dungeons with killer music, lots of lore and secrets and is actually somewhat hard to traverse
it is the best dungeon for sure
but it's not the best part imo
for me the best part was... well, story wise, the assault on vah ruta
with the music and all urgh
but like just exploring the world itself was amazing
yeah
thereâs good parts for people individually but from an âobjectiveâ pov i think itâs the best area
actually i retract that statement, best part of the game was the great plateau
and i am a biiit disappointed the rest of the game wasn't as tightly crafted as the great plateau
the great plateau makes you do all kind of stuff that makes you wonder "man if that's the tutorial i can't wait to see the whole game !!!" and then the whole game doesn't even try to reproduce what you did on the great plateau
okay maybe eventide is one briliant exception
i think the only reason it feels tight is because you do have 4 objectives you have to do before you can move on, no getting around it
the rest of the game is very similar but without forced quests like this
you but even if you self impose such a challenge in other parts of the game it doesn't feel as good as the great plateau
it feels as though the great plateau is just filled with stuff to see and do at every corner while the rest of the game spaces stuff out more
thereâs loads at the beginning it just feels like that because youâve probably done so much
all the time I come across an area i just think wow I remember that bit that was so cool
I also really like both of the large snowy mountains
hmm idk
like if i compare the snowy region of the great plateau and something like hebra
hebra has a lot of downtime
I remember running away from the cursed dragon the first time I saw it directly
ice lizalfos that are annoying as fridge
thatâs because you donât know where to go yet
if there was a marker beforehand that gave you the location of the dragon or a shrine it would feel more like the plateau
see yeah great example, lanayru was great but only because of the dragon at the top and the subsequent fight
remove the dragon and lanayru is boring there's nothing to do here
there's like one shrine at the bottom
gerudo highlands was cool but also weird
maybe I just like snowy mountains regardless of how botw does it
botw's snowy mountains are cool though
reminds me that standing in the shade in the desert actually prevents you from taking heat damage
this game is amazing
that we can agree on
I want to Zell the Da
she zel on my da till i breathe on the wild
She mastering on my sword till i tri the force
I found this bingo for the trailer, honestly pretty much all of these are solid guesses
yeah i think this is pretty plausible
one hour left
even better
yo we should react together in vocal if you're comfortable with that @fluid scroll
I wonât be able to make it live unfortunately
ahhh gotcha
Iâll watch it like 10/20 minutes late
ok nevermind itâll actually be way later because reasons
ok so second best trailer of all time then
looking forward to it
first thing I see
Iâll believe it when I see it
okay lordly though
don't watch it if you don't wanna see like heavy story details
it shows a lot of story stuff
like, a lot
don't wanna get into specifics
I watched the Batman after reading a wiki plot summary of it and itâs still my all time favourite movie so that shouldnât be an issue
look at this dude
That trailer was sick and now I am beyond the beyond excited I was before
no way magolor in zelda
Is it still possible to order the special/collectors edition of totk?
You'd probably need to check whatever stores accept preorders
AightâŚ
monster hunter!?!?!?
i'm so unbelievably excited for this game holy shucks
GUYS!!! NINTENDO PUT THE ZELDA TEARS OF THE KINGDOM MAIN THEME ON THE JAPANESE WEBSITE
I EXTRACTED AND IT SOUNDS SO GOOD OMGGG ANSDNSKXR
now letâs hope this epic trailer theme is actually in the game
best i can do is final boss or credits theme lol
or intro theme
man this theme is a banger
It'll be in the next Smash game
His Wikipedia page has already been updated
Like his voice wasn't immediately recognizable
More like Legend of Smellda
are there companion npcs now?
yep
i mean, did we have to mention it ? it was pretty clear both Tulin and Riju grew up
we doxxed zelda we know where she is
wait lol what a new commercial about totk leaked ||https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/12l3iqr/totk_leaked_slightly_unfinished_version_of_the/||
people are crazy đ
nah it was a dead giveaway with the jungle trees of faron to the left
i even watched a reaction video where a guy answered "obviously you're near the jungle"
I do not remember faron being over there
wait
how are we gonna take pictures in this game
if we don't have the sheikah slate anymore
obviously camera rune on your palm
Controversy ensues
zonai magic eyes
Kind of.
They're cool
Riju rocking her own Urbosa's Fury
Tulin taking charge
Link in Fortnite
âď¸ Quoting Murdoink (@Murdoink)
meme potential? idk
i'm anxiously waiting for "the catch" with totk
there must be a catch right
is the catch just the heavier cost ? is that seriously it ?
i'm completely expecting something to be botched upon release and reviews will tear down the game
either it runs terribly, or it makes switches overheat, or it has save corruption glitches every two minutes... or the resolution is different than botw... or idk man
i'm fuuuully expecting the game to have a catch and it's gonna be a mean one
i think the bad part is that it's 70 and will probably have overpriced dlc
The catch is your gear is awful if you haven't beat BotW
the catch is that you canât eat for two days after buying
A catch as if it's not going to get patched out within days if it's found
The catch is that there's a day one patch so you have to wait a bit before playing your 70 usd game
By perfectly overlapping the background in these shots with BotW we can pinpoint Zelda's location: she's in the Great Plateau, behind the Temple of Time. #TearsOfTheKingdom
I'm digging this new "Dox Zelda" trend
She did tell us to find her
Tomorrow we'll get her IP
ahh it's starting, I am now getting goosebumps from the totk trailer
didnt have them when i watched it initially but now it's working
next step is crying in front of it and i'll know it's a good trailer
(yes i cried in front of the 2017 switch presentation trailer because dude the MUSIC)
also btw guys as far as we know
Revali, Great Deku Tree and Teba's voice actor isn't part of the voice cast in totk
it's possible all three are dead to account for that which is pretty sad lol
i have unfortunate news this voice actor is a piece of shit and i wasn't aware oops this means nothing
drama!

sexiest green man alive
shrek want to know where you live
đ§
you know an interesting place in BOTW that people don't talk about enough......?
wha
idk im asking
Iâm still wondering why someone built a military training camp right in front of Korok Forest
I likes the skull lake
Too bad it has no use other than a questline for that monster guy
Itâs also the place where you see the shooting star for one of Rexâs salvager gear
Yep! Theres one beautiful place in the game with no shrine and no quest and it took me several years to find it
where is this mythical place?
It's Lindor's Brow, north of Ridgeland Tower
Theres like two koroks here and a guy who wants ro race you I think ?
It's weird how I didnt find it for years
it sounds peaceful
The goddess shrine in Faron.
It feels like a place genuinely lost to time and to get there is a danger in and of itself.
I think it was the first one I found too
How about the Colosseum?
Don't know what people say about it, other than it's not a bad spot to grab some early gear.
Colosseum was sick. Kind of hope they restore it in TotK
Fight a bunch of Hyrule Warriors ||
|| and earn bank
Would be cool if it hosted an arena-type challenge similar to the Master Sword trials.
can get pikmin 4 and zelder
that's like
that's like
30 dollars off
You have to have Nintendo Online, but because of Zelda's price increase you do save money regardless of if you care about Nintendo Online.
Way ahead of ya buddy
I want to own the games physically though... Now that I think about it đ
My switch is no space on it
Like like, am I going to buy a new micro SD card just for a couple games... Before I get a new switch 2!
I don't even know buddy
Could always scrap stuff you know you're never gonna play again
Though I know I'm stupid enough to just buy a larger microSD
I'm always scrapping but then it's like, what if I wanna play this.. what if I wanna play that.. then I gotta wait man
Yeah, that's why I dish out on the micro....I mean except some things.
Like I know I'm not playing Lego City Undercover anymore
So I'm fine freeing up that space
I have the space and the money saved from the vouchers.
So I'm content
UK gang saving some money
Alright, by using the same background-overlapping technique we've pinpointed Ganondorf's location: he seems to be on a new structure on the Great Plateau, directly above the Shrine of Resurrection! #TearsOfTheKingdom
People be reenacting those memory challenges from BotW
they were both on the great plateau so it couldn't have been too hard
The memory challenges weren't too hard either.
But it to be
So it takes 100 years for Link and leaves him with amnesia, but it takes a week for Ganondorf, whose body is far more decayed, and he immediately begins his conquest...
Using some background elements as reference, we pinpointed the Zelda-like character's position: she's atop the south-west wall of the Great Plateau. This area looks different compared to BotW, but the shape of the rock in the top-right corner roughly matches. #TearsOfTheKingdom
Everyone is at the great plateau or what
Legend of the Great Plateau, am I right?
probably a cutscene where the moon spawn some monster and the woman kills them

oh it wasn't complete, that's why
damn they really hammer the point home that you need to experience with the mechanics and the chemistry engine to have fun
that's awesome
damn
replaying botw lately
it's so weird how soon we're gonna explore the exact same hyrule but in a completely different context
so so so exciting
And hopefully with Miis but probably not
with miis ?
Behind the scenes the human NPCs use Miis as a base, and modders have figured out how to get it to work with custom Miis.
TotK's NPCs in trailers visually appear to also use Miis as a base. There was a discussion in #discuss-games almost two weeks ago.
yeah I knew that I was the instigator for that discussion
i'm wondering why you're saying "hopefully with miis"
I'm hoping you could use your own Miis in the game (w/o modding), since the last trailer made it look like you might be able to 'recruit' NPCs to travel with you.
Probably not, sadly would be a known missed opportunity since that behind-the-scenes stuff has already been uncovered.
no way new gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EMZzW7hj0M
I was invited to a preview session to play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Is it as good as Breath of the Wild, or better?
A huge thank you to both Nintendo UK and Nintendo of Europe for inviting me to this event!
If you would like to support the channel financially, consider becoming a channel member by clicking the "JOIN" button, for benefits l...
also new runes
this makes me so excited oh my gosh
i'm giggling and squealing at every little thing i see dude i'm sooo happy
ULTRAHAND IS SO COOL
the so called "tears" on link are extension for battery
i don't think those are the tears
the tears are rather the many gems all the other main characters are wearing
it feels mind boggling that Totk will basically make botw, the "best game ever", completely obsolete
like, what the hell
They expected people to buy it six years ago, so they moved on to the sequel, not everyone has a Nintendo Switch even today, so they would still play Breath of the Wild first.
he's so cute
also apparently the archaic tunic and the archaic uhhh pants are like, the equivalent to the old shirt and pants from botw
meaning you probably can't upgrade them and that makes me incredibly sad
Ikr I can't wait
There are so many tiny things
Bomb flowers are back!
can the tears be a metaphor? like the islands falling like tears
People think it could be that yellow thing zelda was holding in the new trailer
Or the tear shape objects seen on zelda, the champions and ganondorf
both what zelda is holding and the stuff seen on the champions and ganon are the same thing yea
man IGN Japan messed up their preview and showed a bunch of stuff they weren't allowed to show

not gonna spoil what they showed but man it made me even more excited for the game loool
I'm like I wanna see more but I don't wanna see more
i keep telling myself i wanna go blind but boy am i spoiling myself as much as possible lol
Same, I've only seen SkillUp's preview video but I won't be watching any more until the game releases
Ikr
I'm glad they switched to a wheel for the abilities, instead of the horizontal menu
Yes the wheel will make things easier to get to, there is a lot of that in the menus from what I've seen so far
oh man they changed the way arrows are shot in midair
||now it depletes one third of the wheel for every arrow shot, and it doesn't deplete over time anymore||
They took out the whistle sprint tho
||this means with the starting wheel you'll be able to shoot 3 arrows no matter how fast you are||
dude nobihvugcyfgvh i cannot wait for this game
i'm ecstatic
My thoughts exactly
I might have to leave this chat
Wise choice
ok the purple rune allow you to ||stock vehicles, move them entirely
and cover it with green thing||
Spoiler mark this please it's leaked info not officially approved by Nintendo
In fact spoiler mark the pictures too
the new purple thing allow you to ||save and spawn build you made which is pretty cool||
||also it cost zonaite (the new minerals up right)||
yesterday I learned Impa was Purah's sister
I had no idea lol I learned this by talking to Purah
the great sky island ||is where the tutorial start (like the great plateau)||
||also temple of time||
here the entire map
map towers
center hyrule map
ganondorf spoiler
i think we should create a separate thread about the leaks uh

new leak
Tears of the Kingdom episodes are coming soon! But we have one final Breath of the Wild episode for you. This time we explain how you can bait Molduga with a simple trick, show something the developers completely forgot about during a certain quest, and the secret behind how the localization team named locations in Breath of the Wild.
In the vi...
still going up
shit
the game has leaked
everyone, if you were waiting for a moment to get off of everything zelda related, now is the time
spoiler
well i know why link is virgin now

don't go on youtube worst mistake i've ever made
(censored the actual spoiler don't worry but yeah it's all there lol)
got taken down
good

TotK now sitting on my Switch menu.
Tauntin' me
i must wait till amazon gives me it
I have an important decision, because it releases the same day I'm gonna be on a flight:
Play it on the plane, or wait until I'm home?
plane
Try not to crash the plane though
plane but play in airplane mode
I will eagerly give it...or stream it. Either or
[Tears of the Kingdom]
A day 1 patch (version 1.1.0) will be made available at launch.
There are no patch notes available at the moment, and I do not plan to look into the update contents to avoid spoiling myself.
The patch size is ~320 MB.
274
đż
Lol
incomplete game!~!
Well I guess I can't play it on the plane then.
no fret it's only a patch that makes the game a lot more stable in terms of framerate
you can still play the game on the plane it might just slow down in some instances
i think... the game is intended to have a more stable framerate than botw, but only with the day one patch
and without it it's just gonna chug in some instances like in korok forest in botw yknow

Zelda final boss spoilers

People who have TOTK how is it?
Boring at the very start because it's the most basic of tutorials, but once you're done with that area the game is amazing pretty much from the jump
Although despite the day 1 patch, framerate drops are definitely to be expected, but they're not as bad as rumored to be prior to the patch
Right now i'm in a "what the fuck did they feed these devs" type of mood
i discovered addiction
Also as an extra note: There's definitely more story involved, and the game kind of leans into a slightly more linear route, but that'll just because of what the story tells you to do. You can still do whatever you want like in the first game, but the game sort of gives you stronger recommendations to follow the story this time around
Just found out hetsu's name isn't hetsu, it's hestu
No way
Its like when I found out it was Pridemoor Keep instead of Primedoor Keep
I'm not alone!
Found that one out in Age of Calamity, wonder if there are any others I've been mispronouncing this whole time
Its not hetsu??
Actually crazy wow
I'm gonna dys-locate your bones
You guys know that one rito around the tower in the region that has kakariko village
He's blocking the tower door
He talks about mushrooms, But how do I get him to open the door?
He's not blocking the door. In the conversation he mentions that it's locked. Sadly I don't know how mushrooms are supposed to solve that problem
Guess the game is more linear than I thought it was
There's a cave to the right
And then what
You can get into the tower using the ascend ability
that's wild
That was one of the best ||boss fights I might have ever played||
I was in tears
Of the Kingdom
There's a forum to use for spoilers if this is major
Oh whoops
I'm not clicking it but just do what you think is right
I won't give away any details about it, dw, I just wanted to share my awe
Just spoiler marked it because I didn't want to give anyone high expectations
combat in totk is so so so much more fun than botw somehow
it seems they've made enemies more tough across the board but now Link is so OP even in the beginning of the game that it doesn't matter
as a point of reference i've already killed black enemies quite easily and i didn't realise they were black until after i killed them lol
if and when master mode drops it's gonna be immensely fun
Wheeere đ
around the tower you can find an entrance to a cave
I found the cave, tried ascending too
Starting to warmp up to ultrahand vehicles
I made a simple car out of the wooden hudson constructions part and i can easily recreate it, it goes quite fast too
Very much gives me master cycle vibes
yeah but you cant activate it
wait no you just have to move the sticks
What's your favorite item to fuse with a shield?
I want link to fuse me with a shield so he can ride me down a hill
I expected this to be one of the answers, and I agree. I love the bomb barrel + shield combo. The level of style that comes out of shield surfing right next to an enemy with it is unmatched, and it's a really fun way to gain altitude
rocket
Look at all the people that need to get a life!!!!

meat pfp
Thanks to the green goblin machine, I have conquered the depths
Such a cool area of the game, I didn't wanna leave until I ||ran out of brightbloom seeds đ||
man the shrines where they ask you to use recall are the best
they're not super hard but idk it's just a super satisfying power to use
Ranking each starting power:
-
Ascend: This will probably change once I actually take the time to make cool stuff using Ultrahand, but I love how useful it is, and I especially love how many areas of the game are designed around it
-
Fuse: I've been able to pick up this ability very quickly. I love the versatility it has, and there's all kinds of crazy combinations I can make with it.
-
Ultrahand: This ability is very fun to use, and the possibilities to what you can make are literally endless, from a ||bomber jet|| to a ||rocket log||. It's all very cool stuff that I think can be more enjoyable if I just put more time into learning what I can make.
-
Recall: This ability is my least favorite, but that doesn't mean it's bad, it just means that I can't really enjoy it as much as the rest of them. I love using this on bomb barrels when enemies throw them at me. I also love how objects retrace their exact path with the exact same speed and physics that they had before. Whole lot better than stasis from Breath of the Wild, and when combining it with the Ultrahand ability, I can pretty much get a similar effect to it
damn ascend in first
I'm also surprised, as I thought it was going to be the most boring of the bunch
surprisingly enough fuse is the ability i use the least
but also i love it so so much
it's just, my weapons rarely break so i don't use it much to make stronger ones
I use it all the time, and I pretty much have it down to a science:
-
Use a new weapon as the base, and fuse a used weapon over it.
-
Stronger weapons always go on the bottom in case the top one breaks.
-
Always have a hammer on your person.
-
If you're gonna keep a two-handed swinging weapon on hand, make sure it's a hammer. If not, then make sure it's a strong weapon.
hm okay personally i just fuse cool weapons with cool horns
I've been keeping two handed elemental weapons on me at all times
electric lizalfos horn + Two handed weapon is an insane combo because of the spin attack
I only keep elemental weapons on me because I don't wanna spend money on warm clothes
What parts of the story have you done so far?
Because ik in at least one part ||elemental weapon will be extremely useful||
||Rito, I'd do more but the depths are awesome and I'm looking for treasure in there||
I never do this lol
I just do strong base + strong horn = strong weapon
Strong horns are good, but they also break with the weapon that they're fused to
gerudo
and yes i know about that
When fusing weapons on top of weapons, it's always the weaker one that breaks first, but it's also a good idea to give your weapon a strong base, because you don't want your royal-guards-spear-stick to break because it has a weak base, and you end up losing both weapons when it does
yeah well weapons break
you find them everywhere it's no big deal
i highly recommend going to hateno village
for what reason
better access to zora area and the laboratory quest
Of course, but you can still make them last longer than if you just fused a horn onto it
when you finish the quest you will get another for the ||moveable tp||
And dye shop
literally the first thing i did after getting the paraglider was head over there to dye my clothes
dude horriblins have such a better french name
in french they're "trogoblins"
a portmanteau of "troglodytes" (which means "lives in caves") and goblin
i think troglodytes is a word in english too
It is
then yeah i'm gonna call them trogoblins from now on
don't care if people don't understand it's absolutely the better name
like "line marker" in splatoon 3
i have mental problems i keep calling the hoverboard "the riblin"
if you know you know
If it makes you feel better.
I don't know but it still sounds like you have mental problems

Ah
Hateno village:
What is your favorite part of the map? It could be a specific location, level of elevation, or anything like that
So I just did the Rito village dungeon but I've explored East-West as far as Kakariko.
So far, the ||Stormwind Ark|| has been my favorite and it's been incredible
What is the best use for ||golden apples||? [very minor fruit variant spoiler]
I only have 1 so I've been scared to use it
Make a pie?
great question... very hard to answer
i think Hyrule is my favorite part of the map
The ||depths|| under korok forest
Looks really cool
so idk why but dazzlefruits are super effective against stal enemies
||I tried using it to light up the depths but all it did was flashbang my screen||
good
I'm personally loving ||the depths|| a lot, I love ||going on treasure hunts and following where the statues point. Right now I'm trying to follow a certain set of statues for a quest from Josha, but I've been following the wrong statues the whole time, although I personally don't worry too much about it given that it's always worth the journey||
beyond the wow factor, ||the depths|| feel pretty shallow now that I explore more
||the depths feels like the overworld in botw, if that makes sense
lots of monster camps, some overworld bosses here and there, not a lot of npcs, something you repeat a lot...||
||most of what i've explored feels pretty samey||
||only traversal changes a bit between regions
though i bet the depths of death mountain will shake things up||
Regardless of the sort of gimmick-ified emptiness that is that area, I still personally love it for what it is, and it's one of my favorite areas of the game
||Although the Hyrule Castle Chasm is completely unplayable||
||i do think it's by design||
||i thiiiink it's the final area of the game
where you're supposed to fight ganondorf
saw some... electric like-likes ??? then got assaulted by angry trogoblins, thought "i'm definitely too low level for this||
Me looking at every message despite not having played the game yet
oof i'm sorry hope we're not spoiling too much

Found out that a rock is a perfect counterbalance for a korok
Knowledge is power
He's so hungry, Tevlev could eat an Octorok.
Based Link pfp idea, excuse me princess, it sure is boring around here, Zelda defeated Ganon before Linklev could get to him

The improvements never cease to amaze me
Changes to a town spoilers:
||The people of Hateno Village are obssessed with mushrooms, to the point of wearing mushroom hats and their village featuring mushroom decor. Cece, the lady behind the mushrooms, wants to do away with farming, resulting in poorer nutrition. The resulting malnutrition would lead to the people of Hateno becoming short, so between the height and the hats the other Hylians might refer to the people of Hateno village as 'Toads', eventually leading to the founding of the Mushroom Kingdom, which you may know from Mario Bros. If this theory is true, Illumination should be releasing a Legend of Zelda movie in the next 5 years.||

||Yes I know Reede wins and Cece actually loves the vegetables||
Enemy spoilers:
||I love watching monsters fight constructs, especially with the fact that there's no guarantee that one side will always win. Sometimes it'll be monsters who win, while other times the battle may go to the constructs.||
so I scanned my Guardian amiibo and its drop was interesting
it gave me ||an ancient blade, something with 50 fuse attack power, it's basically the thing at the end of ancient arrows lol, idk if i should stick it to a weapon or use it as an ancient arrow, i wonder if it could vaporise an enemy ? it does the same sound as an ancient arrow when i draw the bow with it too||
||okay well i got my answer, don't stick it to a weapon, use it as an arrow
that's a fun item https://vxtwitter.com/Xiphos_YT/status/1657914389570408448||

spoilers about the Zonai people
||for a game based specifically on the Zonai there's a distinct lack of them||
||botw was the sheikah game and we got a sheikah village, around 130 or 140 sheikah monks and even evil sheikahs||
||but the zonai ? there's like.. two in the game apparently and they died more than 10 000 years ago, so even the game based on zonais is devoid of them||
||unless they show more zonais in the later parts of the game but i highly doubt it... all we really see is the remnants of their civilisation and their technology but i mean... we already go that with the sheikahs, why the retread ? just show us the big goat people, it's so interesting||

Not a lot of coherence going on here. Pants look pretty weird with the blue Hylian Tunic, and that headgear looks like it was randomly thrown in there for some extra flair, which sadly doesn't work.
Rate my fit, i call it the "I don't have the full barbarian set"
This should be male armor in all games
5-6/10
My own personal taste for the barbarian armor does affect this, so keep that in mind.
The hat works well, especially when looking at the green paint on the barbarian armor. The armor itself looks very nice with the alternative colors.
Not much else to say about it, just a nice set of armor you have here
I recommend the male Gerudo headpiece.
i think feral OoT link is funnier

Actually, I don't know if this is spoilers because it's all just breath of the wild the cosmetics
spoilers for majora's mask
7/10
I found this one a bit harder to score than the others.
The Fierce Diety mask works very well with the black Zora armor, which that itself goes together perfectly with the black Soldier's Greaves

I hate spoilers in YouTube thumbnails, of course you can just hit the "not interested" button, but once you've seen it you can't unsee it. Certain people really just like to assume that everyone else is as far through the game as they are.
Was i supposed to stumble unto the faron sky island content through a quest
Reached the sky island there unprompted and the quest tied to it is easily the best in the game
the ones with four squares and the final boss in circle in the middle?
Found an oversight
Enemy teeth have additional arrow fuse damage that isnt reflected when sorting by fuse damage in the up menu
Lizalfos talon for instance is very damaging but is quite low in the list because fusing it to a sword would yield poor results
But fusing it to an arrow is very very good
Same for most tooth, fangs and claws you get on enemies
(Basically any enemy drop except horns and guts)
I think this will affect the meta
Anyone know what amiibo this was lmao
Minor spoilers for an enemy in the Gerudo region, although it has been shown in the third trailer before:
I think ||Gibdos|| might be my new favorite enemy
And also I just find it fun to defeat them, especially considering that they're weak to literally any elemental attacks
Also having a ton of ||dazzlefruit|| on hand is pretty much a guaranteed win for you
good cheap vehicle ||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apZCDNpeTnM||
0:00 - why build an airbike?
6:00 - how to build an airbike
Love that vehicle. The version I made was lopsided though so it moves as if I had joycon drift đ
Goblin glider?
green goblin
Oh yeah the wing
It does start moving faster, so it should also equate to more speed in general
Plus it's more lightweight
Oh nevermind, I thought you were referring to something different
yes
Speaking of which, does anybody know if ||Gibdo hives|| respawn after a blood moon?
i feel like the goblin glider or the airbike shouldn't be used too often
they break the game in half in ways the devs probably didn't intend
like, i initially climbed death mountain by using it
then realised i missed the whole point of the death mountain climb
using the rails and the minecarts was much more fun, hectic and roleplay-ish so i ended up reloading my save to try without it
Airbike is fast and you can gain a ton of altitude by using it
yes that is my entire point
stop using it it's too good
especially when the devs have made more fun ways to traverse the world in many parts of the world
if i had bypassed the death mountain climb with the glider i'd be sad
hell i bypassed a lot of hebra that way...
do whatever you want to have fun
i guess you're right
but also i think the devs want me to use the minecarts instead of the glider because they crafted a fun experience out of using them
and i think my soul will be more content if i do what the devs intended me to do
Plus it's not really game-breaking, as the developers intend for you to be creative with your approach to the game. It's not as linear as the story makes it out to be.
If you're down for the more RPG-style route, that's cool too. I'm just doing what I see as more efficient.
i don't think making an airbike is using creative energy
more like monkey see monkey do
The devs intended for you to find the road that is fulfilling to you
And give you all the freedom to do so
there's a vehicle i made myself out of wood parts i use quite often, it goes fast and is practical, i didn't borrow it from the internet, so it feels way more satisfying and justified to use it
Creative in the sense that it's not exactly how the game tells you how to do it
Personally I play similarly to Moz but what makes this game so great is that there's no single solution to the puzzle that is traversal
ngl i use the glider when the game frustrates me
for instance in the desert
cant see shit unless you're in the air, so crafting a vehicle to be airborne feels like a good solution
but what i'm saying is don't overuse it imo
but if you want to use it fine do what you want, just don't go saying "man i wish i took my time and explored more instead of using this boring glider"
but like for instance
for the korok delivery service quests
i think using a different vehicle every time depending on what the game is trying to tell you is WAY MORE fulfilling than just "fuck it, air bike"
That's fine but everyone has a different sense of fulfillment
Knowing 13 I bet he enjoys finding the most efficient ways to tackle challenges
Lol personally I just drag them there using the hand power. I don't wanna miss out on everything I find along the way
Not the biggest fan of these Korok quests btw
Usually I'm planning to go somewhere but then a Korok wants me to bring him somewhere else, to take a different path than the one I layed out for myself
They're optional, yes, but I don't want to have to go back to get the Korok later
It's not necessarily faster but it's just easier to control.
Just general quality of life things.
Not quite sure what the benefits the Goblin Glider keeps over the hover bike, there might be some that dane didn't mention since the video is essentially a sales pitch for a build-idea.
I personally prefer the Goblin Glider for it's aesthetics.
Feels very mad-science-y to use.
Meanwhile the bike just feels like you're riding a bike, woohoo vewy clever.
Fair
since you can just make your own
Yes actually. Either that, the most stylish way to tackle a challenge, or the most outright ridiculous way to take it on
You can already make a bike by combining a small wheel, steering stick and stabilizer
Stabilizer is the ||little balancing guy||, right?
Yes
I have yet to toy around with building stuff
It should cost the same amount of Zoanite as the flying machines.
And while it will be nowhere near as practical as either of them, it does at least have a better battery life so it might be more viable in the early-game.
The most advanced thing I've made so far is likely a plank with a steering stick, two fans and two batteries to cross water
It sucks
W-well, ...you suck!
Its super hard to steer it goes to shit at the slightest bump and is just all around a bad build
i've noticed that similar to the goblin glider to hover bike set up, the handling on the normal mono-bike changes depending on where the steering stick and stabiliser has been placed.
how do i stock weapons, i dont wanna lose my biggoron sword

Alternatively ||you can re-buy the biggoron sword at poe statues thingies||

Shes literally a teen
Welcome
Gerudo grow different, bruh
||It's long enough for Hudson to have a child, and for said child to be old enough to be running around Tarrey Town and talking to people.||
exactly what i was thinking
when the dust settles i think totk will be subject to a loooot of criticism
especially with three main aspects: story, retcons and just relationship with the first game in general
Yeah, i'm already kind of annoyed at how ||this game is just an alternate universe retelling of a significant chunk of the Zelda lore rather than a continuation of it. Like one of the most interesting prospects that the first trailer introduced through the implied return of Ganondorf would be that he'd be the one single thing remaining from the era of the previous games. Everything that we as the audience know from the older games Ganon would know as well, and thus he would have a strongly defined vendetta against Link and Zelda that they themselves wouldn't fully understand and the mere idea of that was so fascinating to me.||
||Then they decided to reset his story but this time while just making him morally reprehensible from the beginning. Rather than being a man who transformed into a demon as a result of his circumstances like the older games he's pretty much exactly as the modern day Gerudo thinks of him, a demon who merely posed as a Gerudo. When Ganon sees Link in the prologue of this game that is the first time he meets Hylia's Chosen Hero in person within this universe and to me that just cheapens their relations so hard.||
||tbh i'm not too bothered by this because i personally have no relation to other zelda games
this is my first zelda where i actually encountered ganondorf (i've played ocarina of time and TP but wasn't captivated enough to play them for long) so i'm not too bothered
however this isn't my first "breath of the wild" and it's weird how they kind of choose to ignore a lot of stuff about the first game
or just be shallow in the story
like specifically the 4 sages in the distant past.. who are they ? why are their faces hidden ? why are their masks the same design as the divine beasts ? were they also the divine beasts pilots ? why are their musical themes very similar to the original champions's themes ? why are they voiced by the champions voice actors ? why are all their cutscenes just cookie cutter rehashes of the same exact cutscene down to the same script just with the regional spin based on their race ?||
||the ancient sages are just so so shallow, they have nothing going for them, no personality, no character, no background... they could've been the original divine beasts pilots and that would have been very cool, idk make calamity ganon a part of the story too like goddamn his origin is not gonna be explained in this game ?? seriously??||
||and I know it's a meme at this point but where the fuck is all the sheikah technology ? where are the shrines the towers the guardians the divine beasts ? cause those things take some SPACE lol the shrines served as the underground in botw and you'd think you'd find more sheikah stuff in the depths but no it's only zonai stuff||
||it's like they said "ok let's make a sequel to botw but never address the events of botw, just somewhat mention them in sidequests, really just re-use the characters but only the characters and don't mention any past event ever please"||
anyway big rant over
aside from the story this game is amazing but yeah the story falls a bit flat imo imo imo
||They never addressed it in-game (yes I see this is the problem here), but the reason all of the Sheikah technology is gone is because the people of Hyrule didn't want it to be easily controlled if Ganon were to ever rise back to power||
||Maybe they could also explain how we went from Malice to Gloom as well||
||ok but how do you get rid of the underground facilities that are the shrines||
||how do you even remove all the sheikah walls of the shrines of resurrection
how do you get rid of the divine beast under it
how do you get rid of all that lol||
This is why I mentioned that there was a major problem in how they went about explaining it
But I'd just suggest (and this is not trying to be rude here) that you just enjoy the game. Nitpicks will lower your enjoyment of the game, and that's not a fun thing to think about when you finally get the long-awaited sequel, which is pretty much better in every way to its predecessor
oh don't worry i'm doing that it's just...idk i'm trying to gauge whether i like this game more than botw or not and i have a hard time answering
maybe i should just have fun
btw uh
i keep seeing people say totk is way harder than botw
genuinely to me it's the opposite totk is way easier
am i an anomaly in the system or something
I think that Tears of the Kingdom is harder right now because of how new it is, and because we as a community have barely had any time to develop strategies to make the game easier for ourselves
if people are playing this game the way botw is played i understand if they find the game hard lol
gotta use items more people
muddle bud is in your pouch for a reason
I just started using it yesterday, and it's a pretty fun item to use
if you're not throwing chu jellies around nonstop you are playing the game wrong
all the items are fun to use i can't believe it wasn't in botw
throwing items just feels natural
like i can't believe they already had all these neat chemistry interactions will all the elements and decided "yknow what we're not gonna let players throw items"
YO BTW REAL QUICK

Hardware limitations. Breath of the Wild was made for the Wii U. This time around it feels like the developers were really able to get out a lot more of their ideas that had to be scrapped from Breath of the Wild.
||like it's actually insane why did they double down on this||
you could deposit items on the ground in botw and interact with them in battle i don't see how making a throw command that applies velocity to the item is out of the realm of possibilities
I will agree on that, as it makes no sense as to why they could've made throwing items possible on the Wii U
But maybe they just didn't have the ideas for that mechanic at all
Only thing that I have a major dislike for that I can think of right now is how much less items are worth now when you sell them
I'm not saying that getting rupees should be as easy as it was in Breath of the Wild, but now items are pretty much worth a third of their original price now from Breath of the Wild
wait wtf
||They say the Zora take a long time to grow in height, meaning that Finley could be 16-17, but that's still a horrible excuse for what's essentially a grown man getting together with a girl who looks like she's in the middle of the first grade đŹ||
||no i do think Finley could even be in her twenties but that's still not a reason to make her date a grown hylian lol it's so mssed up||
||Twenties in Zora years or human years?||
||I'm curious if the Japanese name for Malice changed as well or if it's still the same. Cause if it is then it does make sense. The Japanese word for malice was "Onnen" which is a negative spiritual substance in Buddhism that builds up from personal flaws, which inhibits enlightenments and gets people who accumulate enough of it closer to demonhood. Basically sin given form. And while Malice is indeed one of the aspects that accumulates Onnen, i feel the word "Gloom" encompasses the full idea of Onnen a little bit better than "Malice" does.||
In human years she would actually be in her fifties
Once again still a terrible excuse
||human years I guess ? like she's twenty earth years idk lol
but like in zora years she's still a child because.. well because she's still a child physically||
Moz what do you mean lol
What I meant was do you think she's born twenty-something years ago or do you think she has the mental capacity of a human in their twenties?
cause there's one "young" zora in botw that's around 100 year old and doesn't know Link
well both
Moz that is not how long lifespans work
how couldn't a zora achieve the same level of maturity as a human in the same time span
sounds like a skill issue to me
Because the brain is still developing
it had 20 years to develop are you kidding me
Lemme put it this way
||My best theory for where the Sheikah tech went is that after the calamity passed, the current day sheika found something that could make all of it disintegrate into blue light, similar to how Link temporarily disintegrates when teleporting.||
Picture a cat, after like two years it could be classified as an adult
YOOO okay new headcanon
i like that
hmm yeah but like
if anything this supports my theory even m-
wait no
actually no you're right
If a 100 year old Zora is still a child then its brain should still be developing
Emphasis on if, I don't have a great picture of a Zora's lifespan
jeez imagine having to care for your child for around 100 years
yeah just bringing more info to the table dw
I'd fight for paid parenthood
Going off of the information here, and condensing it into a more obvious answer; They take a longer time to develop than humans
man i'm not used to smashing pots in totk cause in botw there was usually nothing in pots
I like how there's more hit stun when hitting multiple things at the same time
proving grounds shrines are so fun
how to make combat shrines actually fun, nintendo found the formula
Agreed. They're a great mix of combat, as well as a test of your abilities, rather than just being a test of combat skills
have you guys found a way for Link to have a somewhat discrete headgear that would show his hair unattached
and that could be upgraded
i'd like to rock the archaic tunic but it can't be upgraded so it's the closest workaround
Would you mind giving an example? Because I'm having a hard time following
for instance uh the jewel headpieces from gerudo town would be a good workaround but they attach his hair (with the blue hair band from botw)
i'd like something where his hair is left flowing instead
Sadly I wouldn't know how to help that, maybe you could try something like what you'd do for the good and go ask Cece in Hateno village for fashion advice, but other than that I really can't think of anything
yes, yes I was
i'm now disappointed I didn't..I completely butchered a very fun area of the game
Blue Lizalfos horn is pretty cool too, although it looks better on a two-handed weapon
its a fucking ||katana||
||Clearly not everything is gone, as the towers use the same technology. Also, there's a single chest with an Ancient Arrow on the Great Plateau.||
||you mean ancient blades ? there are several ways to get those||
||Yeah, those||
Unrelated, but..
||The Tarrey Town sidequests are canon, but the chain starts with Link buying a house... Said house is now Zelda's house.||
||Local man taxed out of his own home by royalty.||
||i don't think you guys get what's happening||
||it's Zelda's house the way Lauren Hashian's house is actually Dwayne Johnson's house||
||what i'm trying to say is Link and Zelda are roomies or more||

i find the botw arc better

I just used ||an opal scepter|| and that was the end of it
Homing arrows helped a lot too

Just saw another duplication method that's a lot easier and more efficient (can get up to +4 of a material)
Shield surf but pause before hitting the ground. Hold a material that you only have 1 of, then hold the material to be duplicated, up to 4. Un-pause, pick up items, rinse and repeat. Works when the duplicated item is less than 4.
Also works on the latest version of the game too
The other method definitely is slow but IDK if I really want to use a duplication method right? Can you duplicate zonite pieces? p
i wonder if this will get patched
Probably. I've been testing it out for a bit but I'm still trying to figure out the timing because it's not consistent for me. Been able to get it a couple of times
Seems to work consistently if the first item that's held (single stack) isn't the one at the bottom of the inventory. It'll show up at the bottom after picking it up since it's the first of the stack after picking it up again, but re-sorting the inventory makes it work again with that single item.
did they scale back the alcohol quantity in the noble pursuit
I wasn't a zelda fan back in 2000, in fact I was barely born
but if you showed me the zelda demo at spaceworld 2000 and then the next zelda game that released after that was wind waker i think i'd be pissed too
it's giving "revealing mario 3d world as the wii u big mario game" energy
Skill issue
honestly no
i mean wind waker is probably fantastic don't get me wrong
but why.. why even show that spaceworld demo if you're not gonna do anything with it
it feels misleading
borderline false advertising if you ask me
same shit with the zelda wii u demo except well zelda wii u ended up being the best game ever
but imagine if we got the zelda wii u demo but as a full game
that would have been pretty cool as well
I feel like the Spaceworld demo was probably born from eventually scrapped ideas
mayhaps

||If I continue at this speed I might just end up finishing the game in the next two days, although I've already spoiled the final boss for myself out of sheer curiosity, so that's a bit of a disappointment, but I'm also interested in fighting it||
i've yet to spoil the final boss
some asshole did spoil something that happens during it but i still have no real clue like uh how the battle is gonna look like
||are there like 5 phantom ganon?||
personally i kinda did that but as soon as i discovered the ||dragon tears|| quest i kinda rushed to get them all in order before i got it spoiled to me
and doing that||, due to the context provided after obtaining all of them,|| urged me to finish the phenomenas
||go in the depths?||
oh btw fujibayashi talked briefly about ||the depths|| in a latest interview
I want to talk about ||The Depths, the massive underground region in this game||. ||I feel like Iâve barely dug into it. How did you approach creating that, and what did you want that area to feel like||?
Fujibayashi:|| When you look at the sky, itâs open, itâs bright. When you look at The Depths, itâs a little bit scary, but itâs really about driving this sense of adventure. Thereâs so many secrets hidden there waiting to be unearthed, treasures and whatnot. Itâs really about making sure that we provide an area where players can get really into the spirit of adventuring and exploring. And also as they gain strength, as they become more powerful, they expand their scope of where they can explore.||

How far is everyone through the game so far? (Please spoiler mark your message with what part of the game you might be spoiling, or just be vague with your words)
I have beaten all four phenomenas and have done the subsequent quest Purah gives you
I've done 2 of the main missions so far.
My brother has done the other 2 on his own file.
So I feel like I'm done
I am now ||investigating the Depths to find clues about Ganon's whereabouts||
gotta note that I somewhat accidentally done the very important main quest of ||finding Mineru|| without even being prompted to do it just by exploring the ||Faron Sky Islands|| the other day because ||they were intriguing to me||
I can tell you exactly ||where Ganon is||
||I sort of already know where Ganon probably is but i'm roleplaying till Link knows his exact location hehe||
he is in your heart??????
I did the ||Rito|| phenomena, doing the ||Zora|| phenomena right now. I found 4 of the ||hieroglyphs|| and 7 of the ||towers||. In the ||depths||, I've only done the Robbie introductory quest, nothing else.
you ought to ||explore the depths more imo, probably the biggest part of the game ||
I feel so underprepared, even though I'm most likely overprepared
I'm just feeling hesitant about the unknown
||they're actually quite easy, the only real difficulty with the depths is that normal damage is replaced by gloom damage, which you can mitigate with sundelion meals||
||wait did you unlock the mineru quest on the thunder island?||
||that and obscurity but you likely found many brightbloom seed by exploring caves by now ? + the depths reward you heavily with a lot of stuff to make it easier to explore both it and the world above||
yep ! ||did everything on accident lol, went to the island, walked blindly towards the shrine by complete accident, then followed Mineru's voice as I found her mask I think ? then it lead me in the depths and everything... that quest was so cool and I was surprised to find it on complete accident, felt really magic and special||
||tried to do it two times but couldnt see shit||
man yeah you're too overpowered in totk
i hope master mode comes along to rock my shit cause i'm steamrolling every enemy
and i haven't even upgraded my armor
||Thank you very much for helping me find Mineru||
also in yigas hideout ||you can find thunder mask||
so the ||thunder island is easier to beat||
oh no
uh @strong arrow the intended way is to ||go talk to Paya at Kakariko please do it the intended way it's very fun||
I'll go do that to start the quest, once again thank you
I really miss cryonis and stasis from time to time lol
should I spoil you
No
okay no i'll give you a hint
Don't lol
Ooo wait you sparked an idea in me
haha i think i know what this idea is
Yesss it worked
I personally like Recall better than stasis, and when combining it with Ultrahand, you can pretty much get a pseudo stasis effect, although you obviously can't attack objects for momentum.
i wonder what the decision was for not giving a cooldown on recall
going back to botw with stasis is gonna be rough for the cooldown alone
It would be annoying for platforming kinda stuff
Removing the cooldown on Recall was an amazing decision in my eyes
Especially when considering how long the cooldown is on Stasis
i guess not being able to use it on living things was the balancing
guys what is your favorite horn looks wise
i really really like the silver lizalfos horn
Black lizalfos for me
I was about to mention lmao
black boss boko is PEAK
The ||boss boko|| ones are great
no need to spoiler them they're heavily featured in marketing
oh you didn't
i knew they did but didn't know how they worked
love the detail that ||their horn signal different attack formations for the bokoblins||
It does? Lmao
yeaaah i know they have ||three different horn signals, one that is "hold your shields", and two for different attacks they all perform i think||
Moz help I'm too tired for puzzles right now. In the Zora portion, ||I just talked to Sidon after having talked to King Dorephan. I got some of his scales and I have to use these at a fishland or something? Something that connects to the sky kingdom? I found one island with a fish head I could get to via a waterfall but idk if I'm at the right spot. And even if I am, idk what to do now lol||
Wait nvm I get it, I just had to read the inscription again
Couldn't find it for a sec lmao
Aw no figuring that one out urself is satisfying I didnt want to give the solution
That one took me awhile.
Update: I made the same mistake đ
I really like how much ||the depths|| feels like ||an alien planet.||
It feels so forbidden to just be there.
Especially ||Forgotten Foundation.||
The fact that you can see parts of it ||hidden underneath the map of the Depths, while simultaneously being coloured in a much darker hue compared to everything else really sells the feeling of forbidden-ness by just how unfathomably deep underground it is.||
The shield-surf dupe glitch is awesome
Big big spoilers
I loved this terry town side quest đ
Yeeeey ||diorama|| friend, it's my favorite quest too
||how do you remove some of theses?||
Im sure putting them outside the stage works
Or yeeting them off a cliff
i tried but ||kilton said no||
Whaaaa
Once you reach the max limit, you put them on the platform again and talk to them and they replace it
just realised something
spoiler about some characters
||so wait out of the four sages that Link is friends with, three of them are children||
||okay it's likely that Yunobo is an adult by totk but he absolutely was in his teens in botw||
||why was the rito a child? it could have been his father||
||because Teba replaced Kaneli and has a lot of responsibilities now||
||also Teba doesn't have the secret technique Tulin Tornado||
|| how old is riju? || How old is link?
120 for link
I like how there's a greater sense of urgency in Tears of the Kingdom than there was in Breath of the Wild. In Breath of the Wild, the game doesn't really feel like it's pulling you into the tasks at hand, whereas in Tears of the Kingdom, it feels like with every main quest that's been finished, it's almost as if the game is pushing you to keep moving in the direction you're in
Because in Breath of the Wild, it just feels like "oh yeah you can kill Ganon, but you don't have to", whereas in Tears of the Kingdom, it's pretty much saying "okay this is the task at hand, and if you don't feel like doing it right now, then here's some stuff to make you more prepared for the main quest"
What makes it better is that you're actually playing through an active story, rather than just going the 'tell-don't-show' route of the memories in Breath of the Wild
see it's what i dislike with it personally
cause i feel like i have to rush along with the story
canonically she's 12 in BotW
Link is... hmm I think he's 17 during the Calamity ?
cause he's allowed on Mount Lanaryu along with Zelda during the Calamity
and only people 17 or above are allowed there
now personally I think totk takes place 5 years after botw for various reasons so that would mean Link is around 123 years old in TotK, or biologically 23 years old
