@muted egret guess I am lucky this time I found the perfect match. It did take me a few days to figure out how to cross the stats and etc over.
the original idea I had in my head is the one Matt used in Hopperduke but that one is.......not avaliable.
:/
thanks @solemn bay that looks great just saved it
Master_Mino, please ensure you're attributing all artwork appropriately as per the channel description and pinned messages. Thank you!
hey guys can i send my art here and can you guys give me feed back
thx
@young iron To clarify, ensure that you include the image's source/original artist when posting. ๐
oh yeah sure
also my drawing is poop
rule of thumb; if you can't credit the original artist, it's best not to post it
k
Generally you should look for commissionable artists within #dnd-advertisements
Heyo. Its my first animatic!
Song link- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9q2tLynR73w
@young iron if you are still looking let me know.
Everyoneโs art here is so beautiful I wish I could someday get as good as you guys so Iโm sorry my arts not the best I had really bad art block today so I decided to test out some different pens on procreate does anyone who uses procreate have any tips for beginners to get better
thats great! i understand art block can be hard
keep working hard and you'll get better and better!
as for tips, i have none seeing as i dont use procreate and dont usually draw natural backgrounds (more suburban)
if you want general tips, try drawing the same image but in a new and dynamic perspective!
would music count for this channel?
ok
Music to play D&D and other RPGs to
Composition and Arrangement by: Joshua Vovk
any thoughts?
ooh i like it!
thank you
thank you
you are welcome
thank you, your welcome
your welcome, thank you, your welcome
did you listen?
to what?
to my song
my voice
I made a D&D song
meow its a good song
yes it is
me saying hecking meow
๐
I think you might just be an alligator
you guys want to see a card trick
sure
no, it`s not
It's too small for her body
the engineering stranger says the sword is too big
improper proportions
looks nice
but not realistic
its art it doesn't have to be realistic, no reason to be rude about it
I`m not
Plus the sword looks like an albion principe
the drawing is thicker than the picture, but I see your point
that`s all
at least in my point of view
very cool drawing nonetheless!
yes, quite
ooh love your art style! the hard shading and clean lineart make it look very professionalโค๏ธ
I'd love to be a professional haha
thats awesome Diggy
So neat :o
yes, he does look quite posh
He's a black market tailor from star wars tabletop
I got paid to design him based on a description of him
posh indeed
Minotaur Paladin?
ah
I made two minis
my Minotaur Paladin
and his rich, royal Wizard boyfriend
our art got sandwiched together
sorry
no worries deleted ๐
trying a different style for ma latest commission ... waddya think ?
There are no 'no-no's' in art, just different stylistic choices and preferences
aagreed. also its not a shadow its just a bit of grass with the outline of the rock he's sitting on as requested by my client ^^ just so he's not floating on an empty background solid color
buti can see how that would be confusing ๐
here maybe it's clearer with a lower opacity on the background element ^^
i mean, if you're going for realism, there's really not a lot of black shadows in nature
and i meant shadows on the person, not the grass
you see, unless it's absolute black(which only really happens when there's ambient occlusion), shadow isn't an absense of light
if you can still see in shadow, it means it's still being lit by something
i always portray shadows as less intense light rather than "no light spot"
even if you're in completely white environment, light reflecting from colored yourself wouldn't allow completely grayscale shadows
That's why its a no-no. Of course it's not something you must follow, especially depending on what you're going for in your style and stuff. But it has reasons to exist nonetheless
i often ignore many physical properties and proportions for purposes of simplification and stylization, but it'll never hinder to know these things
especially for when you want to go for realism
everyone has their own ways of art, it's a subjective matter for a reason. as Davyd said "There are no 'no-no's' in art, just different stylistic choices and preferences"
bruh
you don't need to follow the rules
but they are there regardless
im not saying everyone has to draw in a specific way
this "art subjective rules not mean anything" statement basically equals "art school bad"
i never liked art schools tho
have been forced to go to them like 3 times
Rich as it is coming from me who colors in solids, it's true shading in black is traditionally frowned upon to depict colors in a logical gradient that we could perceive on real objects
@proven estuary I'm just starting this is litterally my second time trying the painting style technique
not bad for a second attempt actually
There are no-no's in art in terms of people looking to improve from a conventionally agreed on standpoint of how we view commercial media and whatnot
However it doesn't matter if it doesn't take away from what the piece is- rules are to establish a foundation so that they may letter be broken to form a unique visual identity
So let's chill and just agree we should never flip our canvases
dab
there are some simplification rules too, like "shadow = cold, light = warm"
like, that's obviously not true
but that's easy to follow and it guarantees somewhat nice contrast in your artwork
also i dont really get why people draw human heads and bodies as spheres/ovals ๐ค for me squares and triangles always been easiest, especially for working on shape language and gesture and stuff like that
its more convenient to draw a circle when you're not very confident with lines tho
Traditionally speaking sure but I use both
Depends on what shape best suits what's being put on top
cause people draw in different ways with different styles
๐ฌ
imagine being so lazy you abandon an almost finished art piece because of a foot
well also he's supposed to have a very big tail but that'd be easy to line
I like the line weight
thats amazing!
tyty
doodlez of the day ^^ a friend asked me to draw yoshiko from love live
This is my 9 yr. old Primordial Sorcerer, Alyson and her friend, Mr. Pebbles. I am currently playing her in a alternate version of Curse of Strahd. My inspiration for this character stems from Bioshock. Little Sister and Big Daddy. Mr. Pebbles is usually a doll sized elemental that "hulks" up to a full size earth elemental when combat starts.
looks good
it`s cute
yea I agree
i made a quick background from a suggestion idea of one of my friend. What do you think of it ?
I like
yes
thanks ^^
Linework done, colour time
dear god the level of detail you always have is insane man ๐๐ป
I drew my main character.
A 13 year old wood elf fighter

Anyway, glad ya liked it D
ok ima get back to drawing now
Thought I'd share some fanart of a scene from my groups' last session. Done by the fantastic https://twitter.com/Lazy_Bard_Art.
funny
for everyone who cant do hands. look at the ones on ur body
A new ranger babey :)
B A B Y
Knowing Alt, that's most likely a Tabaxi/Tiefling hybrid
I'm not familiar with that boon
essentially two PCs are in some form of intimate relationship
intimate meaning "close"
Itโs one of the supernatural gifts from Theros.
yes
Ah, I don't know anything about that book's content, so that explains it.
They are a longtooth shifter and a fey wanderer, hence the horns
oh
Very close tho storm, very close
I got very far, didn`t I?
Eh, I dunno
I was thinking they were the child of two older PCs
Ahh
mostly as a joke
Not really. Brand spankin new because I got dragged into a pbp server and I wanted to try something new
cool
Never played a ranger, never played a shifter. Decided โsure, why not?โ
Pretty!!
noice
redrawn this giant from an older sketch into a loxodon variant
NVR mind I just realized I have work and a DND game tomorrow so I probably won't get to draw at all tomorrow ๐ฃ ๐
oh no
still some detail clean up to do.
https://twitter.com/MainlyMortal/status/1272817950513197056
is that a cyborg elf?
"Ice face is a hobgoblin woman"
their names would exceed the character limit โน๏ธ
.....
Tazerface is a character from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
.....
he dies while being laughed at for his stupid name
@toxic axle it's looking great love the lighting and is awesome to see bugbear art can't wait to see the finished piece!!
thank you! im super hyped to finally get to draw the gold dragon and yah it defintiely a shame more bugbears arent drawn, they have awesome designs.
also now that my internets back on
bugbear= Tinerundr
hobgoblin= Fuaritha
human= Lacaidh
Nice I don't jump on here to often so I'll just drop a follow on your Twitter can't to see what it looks like
heck yah
Wanted to share two tokens ive put together for a very very deadly fight in STK (those who know it...yeah...I know)
(Credit to Dante Liu and Paul Mafayon (Hearthstone Card artist)
nice
Mhm can share what they are named but gotta learn how to do "spoiler" censor to ensure im not spoiling for some
Too soon Executus!
The 1st is called ||Maegera the Dawn Titan|| which spawns the second token called ||Sparks of Maegera|| also known as simple fire elementals
Both are a optional CR ||23|| fight in ||Storm Kings Thunder||
Current commission progress
nobody: when you're missing half your torso because you're not fully drawn
but fr looks cool
i like that glass work style
Thanks ๐
still got a lot to do
at least the smaller details in this aren't nearly as bad as ..
when I was insane enough to decide to do each scale for a dragonborn
this is the style I developed that started it, when I would draw traditionally. No rulers involved and I did each line by hand
dear god that is impressive
I like drawing in it because it reinforces focus on negative space
even with the colored in parts, I consider what the gaps will look like
Thank you ๐ I haven't done anything in that style for awhile, I kind of miss it.
I usually make christmas gifts for my grandparents in that style, one year I did a hummingbird, let me see if I can find it
Like the style!
I think another year I did a flower for them. As a final project for a drawing course I did a peacock
that's 17x14 I think
for a sense of scale
Anyway I'll stop hogging the channel ๐
it's an awesome style
hot fr fr
This reminds me of far-eastern art, very cool looking drawing
my tortle druid! hopefully i will get a chance to play him soon ahaha
Interesting his cloak seems to go through his shell ๐ค
ty lmao
Claudio Pozas just drew a headshot of Orkira, my dragonborn cleric, and I'M SO HAPPY!! https://twitter.com/claudiopozas/status/1272972885037023232
so beautiful!
I was wondering. for all artists here (and even everyone here too) what keeps you focus on your art ? what makes you continue your art journey ? (i know it's kind of a weird question) but i wanted your opinion on it. What keeps you motivated and what makes you look down on your own art or production ?
i think it depends on whether u want to pursue professionally or simply continue it as a hobby! maintaining art as a hobby is relatively easy: you do it because you enjoy it and you basically just draw when you want to draw and what you want to draw. pursuing professionally is a different ballgame,, that requires something more than motivation because you can't just rely on spurts of motivation to carry you - instead discipline is required and you have to train yourself to be able to draw even if you aren't feeling it that day. but back to motivation, i like to see my progress over the years, obviously i like external validation, and i like getting commissioned! those are things that keep me motivated personally (as a hobbyist) i've kept going with my art because i see myself improving and it's really encouraging to me!
My friend Chase Capener makes DND Music
Made another #Cteam song with the very talented @NickKrefting on twitter who did arranging/producing and such.
I personally do art because I want to be able to create something that I think looks pretty and say "I made that"
cool
it's why I do anything related to 'art' (not just drawing, I'm including writing and playing piano in that too)
@lofty basin so improving and having some external validation and doing comissions. okok. don't you think that looking for external validations can be ""a bad thing"" to rely onto that ? at least that's what artists used to tell me.
As for me, i'm currently an art student so i want to be professional. And i've seen that will and motivation can't do much if you want to make art your life. I've seen some good and bad day and while searching for answers to find a good balance between everything i do, i wanted to have opinions of other.
There are a lot of time when i hate my production and feels like i'm doing really bad. and it seems everyone has that struggle. so i need to know what makes you think you're doing good.
@eternal patrol i've got that feeling to. I'm motivated because i want to product things that i think looks great and that i can be proud too.
i don't want to make it weird or anything i just want to know your experience of it ๐
I also want to be able to give people the emotions that I get when I read a really cool story or see really pretty art
@delicate violet here's one of the drawings for the non-European inspired paladin I commissioned. (artist: David Baldridge--i found this guy on D&D Beyond and cannot recommend him enough) https://i.imgur.com/Fm8hYwH.jpg
@wheat anchor remind me of wayne renold art (who works on pathfinder )
Very much so!
^^
Then there's this one from Caio Santos whose Critical Role art i love very much. he picked a Tiefling and wend with a middle-Dynasty CHinese theme by and large for the paladin: https://i.imgur.com/fyOijQA.jpg
all of these commissions had the same instructions, which were very general. Only a few specifics in them
i mean sure, external validation isn't the best way of keeping urself motivated but im not gonna kid myself and say i don't like it. just keepin it real lol. it's very easy to get caught up in the small day to day improvement of your art which gets discouraging because the truth is: the more you improve, the slower you improve. the biggest improvements in art comes from mastering the fundamentals and once you have a strong grasp of those, your improvements become less noticeable, but they still exist! as artists, we tend to pick out the flaws in our own works which is good because then we know what to improve. i feel good about my art because every time i make a drawing, i look at it a week later or so and think about what i could have done to make it better, and the next time, i make sure i don't make the same mistakes.
@eager wraith
and finally, Joma Cueto (again, who I knew from Critical Role fanart) swung it back to Asia Minor for the primary inspiration of the paladin. This is all commissioned to go along with my Oath of Observation Paladin homebrew - https://i.imgur.com/J3WQtG7.png I told him I had a great masculine and feminine examples of the character, so he went NB with this one and I thought the result was perfect. I figure Qunae is a half elf, but who knows?
those are all so cool !!
my instructions were: I wanted eye iconography, some kind of medium-heavy armor, and a great weapon of some sort. Other than that, they had free reign.
That is very nice work! Great commissions there - thanks for sharing!
I learned a lot about art commissions. i wasn't very good at it at the beginning, but I got better. After I paid (and tipped because why not?) I asked them to review me as a commissioner. They all gave very good feedback. You don't know what you don't know after all.
@lofty basin you really word it well. And i see what you say. I'll be honest and search for external validation but the difficulty, i think, comes when you have to make it rational. To not fall into the trap of doing it just because you're in search for this validation. this is where discipline is hard to get and what makes the different between willing to become a professional artist and just doing it as a hobby. it's when it becomes really hard for me.
@wheat anchor since when have you started commission ?
I posted them in the order in which I commissioned them. The first one might have been late 2018, but the second two were both 2019 commissions
Commissioning art for a paladin was an exercise in respect. I wanted to draw from religious sources, but nothing too specific and I wanted to use them as a baseline, but I also tried to be careful to stay away from negative stereotypes some people may associate with one religion or another. Never did i try to belittle anything.
you did well on the final product^^ they do look great. thank you all for answering my questions. i appreciate it.
oh, I found this twitter account with a really great artist who does stuff for commercial games. https://twitter.com/OlgaDrebas/status/996429808761483264 This piece in particular was a mage based on west African Tuareg tribal design influences. Oh man it looks SO good...
Mage of Stars character loosely based on Tuareg people's fashion #characterdesign #conceptart my IG -> https://t.co/3m3A9s2I2U
I love when they seek realist inspiration and redesign it like that
I didn't know how much I wanted something like that until I saw it ๐
it does look beautiful
Okay not gonna lie, that's awesome lol
I love it when people take a concept and apply it faithfully through a completely different filter
wundahful
if you like that kind of drawing can i recommend you this artist ? https://twitter.com/littleulvar/status/1094224752078712833
she made really beautiful design for critical role character as well. ๐
I'm a little surprised that I'm not already familiar with her. Thanks for the suggestion.
neat
and if you like the tribal motif i also recommend this russian artist "Phobs" (she works more on illustration and comic book but her design really are beautiful for the eyes) https://imgur.com/gallery/3WgJY
Quite a few artists have been hit pretty hard by the economics of COVID. There is a lot of "artists signal boosting other artists" online right now and it has exposed me to a MUCH bigger variety of the amazing talent out there.
neat !
Lord help me if any of these artists are taking commissions right now. I'm gonna go broke.
hahaha ^^ ikr
ah, yes, wonderful progress
Still got clean it up and move my handle since itโs now unreadable
But ima give up on this since I just wanted to try out some brushes and i really just wanted to doodle something
Dunno if it's suitable for the channel, but I'm looking for recommended artwork to serve as inspiration, portrait, and token for two characters for my D&D campaign. One is a Svirfneblin War Mage, and the other is a Half-Elven Paladin of Glory. Is there anybody that has some good ideas of the top of their heads? I'm currently just browsing google image search.
So are you looking for inspiration or for ready to use images?
Regardless I have neither so just ignore me lol
So Much, is this based on a particular character?
It's for a character I have stats for but not much else beyond that.
I like the style a lot. Reminds me of a water genasi and the watercolor style goes well with it ๐
Little runner boy I did - he delivers letters and packages around the city and knows how to climb and run and sneak good yeahhhh
Also here was the initial idea I did ages ago
Not a picture but a original bard song!
Here is a Bard song I worked on about a Halfling named Penny who made a deal with a demon to stop a mind flayer from in her head from her friends.
What a bop!
Thanks!
@wheat anchor itโs for an npc my players met last session I just had them meet a young cloud giant but as I was doing it I also got a lot of genasi vibe too lol
oh yeah I see that
Iโll probably have my other group meet them as well since Iโve already drawn them I guess lol
I personally hate coloring but I wanted to try out the brushes I never use
Work in progress!!
dat hair
reeeeeeeeeeeeeee realistic
Not my work but thought it was a cute reference
hahaha
bears
nice, nice
I have trouble with faces
ya same
Sorry for it taking so long but I have finally finished animating Conjure Animal
Iโm not very good a animating animals
So it looks pretty janky
Love it
WIP
im working on a dragon turtle drawing almost done
looks good
neat
if anyone just loves creating dnd characters looks, wanna help create a look for a tiefling druid? dm me because im not creative >:O
@dawn niche if you're looking to commission art, I would suggest either looking or posting in #dnd-advertisements
oh shii u right my bad
s'all good, best of luck
I really love the results from the Heroforge 2.0 token maker, even though it's only just come into Beta
The heroforge color stuff? That's only if you did their kickstarter, it's not for everyone just yet. Basically it's in beta
Granny the Warlock of Hyonk
Reminds me of a druid one of my players made -- ~300 yr old forest gnome grandmother who's still ready to throw down at the drop of a hat but offers candies constantly to the rest of the party. I should share the magic item I made for them ...
If there is one you absolutely do not want, you can crush it, but you don't get another candy back until the next dawn.
as a reference to candy grandparents manage to always have but no one can find
Not long ago they offered candy to a partymember but grabbed the wrong bag, and the player had one of the magic ones -- ended up petrified for half an hour
Oh my gosh, that sounds like a blast
an ELDRITCH blast
They're currently trying to lead a student revolt at a magic university as a distraction while others search the records rooms
Any spells you think I should animate
You conjure an extradimensional dwelling in range that lasts for the duration. You choose where its one entrance is located. The entrance...
Went to all spells, rolled for random page and entry. ๐
@neon peak Is the token maker out then? Or did you do those manually?
it went into Beta today for kickstarter backers
Oh cool, I haven't gotten the email yet
Me neither, I went in to check my order status
nice
Making some dnd gifts for a couple of friends
ooooh
Theyโre gonna stay on paper, be watercolored since I can give these to my friends :,)
someday I will learn watercolor
This is what I kind of did with water color since it was for my printmaking class and we had to basically do everything at home
Did it around easter so the only colors I could get at the time were for egg painting ๐ฅ
Oooh! Those are really pretty and interesting
Thanks ๐ It was pretty fun even though I had no idea what I was doing XD
Most recent commission finished -- Aasimar Paladin Noble
XD Want to know a trick?
Sure
all it is, is a gradient with the mosaic filter over it
Work smarter, not harderโข๏ธ
Doesn't take much to look impressive :P
It fits so seamlessly with the rest of the picture.
I often use that filter because it matches the style the main drawing is in
I did another one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddYcJMKqxcs
I ran out of steam on this one :/
But I like the work that I did so here we go.
Song Link- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jyuhwVSCks
Clarissa (blue) is back from bard school, and approaches her friend Sol (red) with an offer to go adventuring. As it turns out, Sol has fall...
As much as I wish Hero Forge would let the rest of us color our figures already, I wish I could load more than one figure at a time.
That way my Boys could stand next to each other like the brothers they are
what I used to do is take the screenshots it would make and then just combine them in an art program
since the background is transparent
Work smarter, not harder โข๏ธ intensifies
imagine if you could import your own models in there
im good with weapons but i suck with characters
I'd love to talk with one of their artists, to see how they set up the models and poses for blending so much
but I expect that's basically a trade secret for them
Details, shadow and lighting now
damnnnn
Yoo, that Tiger reminds me of the thing from El Dorado
XD
The big jade statue thing
Yer
Indeed
Good all around
I request some assistance however, from anyone that would be able to give it, I'm looking for some place to order custom miniatures, anything would be great, however I'm looking for something custom as opposed to customizable, so whilst places like Heroforge and Eldritch foundry are usually great for this sort of stuff I'm looking for something specific
So if anyone knows of like, 3D modellers for hire or a place I'm able to order a 3D model and print it I'm all ears
Presumably the thing I'd asked
But who knows
The mind of a DND player is ever an enigma
i have no idea bro im no 3D guy
Respectable
I do modeling but that's a big request and not cheap or fast
There's a reason hero forge has the position they do
smol update on the commission
ah but on discord, you have thousands of people that enjoy your stuff
(including me)
lol, this looked like a weird missformed couple of hands for a second
(if they were connected like that)
@drowsy vale thank you, I really appreciate it
@tulip frigate Lol that would be both horrendous and hilarious
๐
always mate
Details, shadow and lighting now
@lean flare Hey this looks really great
so many great artists in here
redesigned a demon created by a friend as an exercise ^^
@drowsy vale haha ^^ well it did took me an hour to make and i don't think i will touch it again but i still consider this an exercise since it's more to try new stuff like brushes, trying motifs and such than really going into a full finished design. ๐ค But it was quite fun to make :3
i see
cool art works guys
Good work
@static folio
By
I like this because the conpanions are ducks or gooses
Thats just so cute!
^^ awe thanks guys!
I like this because the conpanions are ducks or gooses
@young iron just fyi the plural for goose is geese
says who
says the English lexicon
well, i also say gooses
WRONG!
geese are evil
but gooses are not
also, does it really matter if some people use gooses and others use geese?
why though?
AAAAAGH!
cause that's how English works
aren't people entitled to their own dialect?
why not?
this conversation has drifted off topic from art
sorry
is it too late to draw that one sailor moon scene in my style?
Nah it kinda keeps going till the world decides that we need to pic a new one lol
oh ok, cuz im makin one rn
Probably ๐ค hopefully ๐ lol
Iโma fix the background the perspective ainโt right
Nah post away I still have a lot to go Iโve only finished the tieflings outline so far ๐
neato
Nice I do like how creative everyone got with the salormoon challenge can't wait to see the finished piece
hello
ofcourse it does
Planning to make an archfey warlock... wooh! With a venus fly trap companion...
Very nice ๐ looks lovely
Looks nice
Also your goose witch was adorable
Aww thank you ^^
I like playing warlocks too
Forgot to complement it earlier lol
Warlocks are my favorite ๐
aaaa is cute
Playing a cultist changeling warlock adds a lot of flavor and gameplay
I want her to have a skirt/apron with a mouth to bring some horror aspect of it but i dunno how to draw it yet
Lol I usually play cleric but personally like paying wizards
But Iโm usually never a player ๐
Figured out I have draw a much closer scene for it to fit
Tired of your weak caster physique? Try wild magic!
Aaaaaand my older bro just turned it into a meme
@onyx cloud i envy your line art skills
Lol itโs funny cause Iโm like why can I get my characters to look as lively as yours
A lot of drawing feel generic af my female characters all look the same no one look unique
Lies!
Lol my like 60 Twitter followers don't lie ๐
But regardless you art isvery dynamic and adorable
Ohhhhh snap I just realized were procreate buddies!!!
my party discovered a group of cultists in our game last session. They were working on a strategy that involved pyramids and recruiting more followers. This session they found one of the cult's sacred tombs.

and I would like to share with you
the most amazing draconic overlord
he has so many awesome pacts
you really won't believe how much this dragon lord will change your life
The cult was setting up this scheme of pyramids to try and funnel treasure to their upstream who is a green dragon
in exchange they are hoping it will grant them power based on their downstream's activity.
very nice
@barren iron if you do REALLY well you'll get invited to this private island once a year
and they TOTALLY won't eat you
the dragon lord has invited to lake laogai
there is no cult in ba sing se
it might be time for an avatar binge
[note for the mods - these references are art.]
it is always time for an avatar binge
so cool!
Done a bard character commission

Boi is that a white tigger robot
It's a rapier I've done for my rogue arcane trickster/wizard (white dragonborn, so I tried to keep in the ice theme )
Thats realy dope o.o
My DM is nice he gave me a 1d4 cold damage on each attack ๐
thats quite an intricate design

Crap, I always forget to credit the artist the first time I post T_T
And FourSuits is right. A kobold and a lizardfolk. Playing Kriegsspiel.
Tamlins art is always so nice!

@tepid peak do you have an Instagram ? Iโd live to follow you ๐ youโre art is what I hope to get to some day
just finished inking this little guy, i'll put colours and the rest of it tomorrow, it's so late now x)
tiefling mage o/ wouh
@torpid wigeon I thought my eyes were broken with the perspective that seemed to be going on there
Also I really like that Iali! Lots of small details and the fabric looks really good
yeah it was just the angle of those top things blended together
its 4 exaust ports
like they were all on the same level
they were placed on the same level just the ones closer to the handle is smaller
Blender? Or Maya? Or something else
blender
One of these days I should try to learn that program again
You don't learn it, you just get a little better each time
Hmmmm
I am going to try a Minotaur Barbarian let me know if you want to see it by doing a legend ary emote on this
k it will be out soon
Nice
good work on painting
I personally only have 2 minis I have to paint
a blue dragon wyrmling and a young blue dragon
great work everyone
This looks great!
just dumping the art for the last game i played in. fell apart due to scheduling, lol
WHAT IN THE
The last picture gives me a lot of mixed feelings.
But the dress one is adorable, it has a legend of Zelda phantom hourglass feel to it!
XD what is gurps and do they like hugs?
gurps is a system! lol. but that's white, who can't remember her real name and picked the color of her hair arbitrarily
she's not very smart
she likes hugs but may eat you
Alrighty, what Race does she represent if I may ask?
XD also the black knight is Giving me Monty python vibes
undead abomination. she's probably the only character of these that doesn't really translate back to dnd ๐
the black knight is vega, he ended up selling his humanity for +1 str
he spoke like sylvester stallone
the only ones with respectable social skills were the elf, emelia, and the human, thunmar
who definitely wasn't just misspelled thurman
she was the leader once the wizard left
Gotcha
he's not pictured but basically didn't fear death and thus was the de factor decision maker
she took on the responsibility as the only person who was consistently competent
Wonderful
it was honestly nice to not play the leader for once
i habitually end up in the role because im usually the gm
i think this is probably not the channel for this
just saw that
What do you think of my Human fighter
true beauty
That's
"The Heir to Lord Kas will never keep his sword."
-Larloch
does the ooze rise up from the floorboards?
Yeah lol, the walls too
oof for the players
thatโs blood on the floor the oblex doesnโt actively seek after powerful creatures. It likes to stay passive as much as possible. Any drunkard whoโs alone is usually the target, then the oblex adds it to the staff
@muted egret
It can either be hostile towards the players or friendly depending on their actions
is it handmade or created in an editor?
Dungeon painter is nice
Diggy Diggy Hole?
I don't think that's attached to the buckle
think it's a separate metal ring on the beard
Oh, I can see that
Correct
imagine tying your beard to your waist
imagine tying your waist to your beard
imagine tying your beard around your waist
anyway
Imagine your beard being your waist
imagine being your beard
Conversation is heading off of the topic here.
here is update on Cyclops Moon
Sailor Kyklops
idk, call it what you want lmao
Cylor Moon
anyway gtg back to work : )
Just finished up this piece of my Earth Genasi Ranger who sadly died very early in his adventuring career while playing Tomb of Annihilation. Now I use him as an NPC in the games I DM.
RIP
Aztec
Thanks! Yeah, Mayan/Aztec inspired. It seemed a good fit for someone born and raised in the jungles of Chult.
"Galaxies". Made with Gimp 2.10.18
Feel free to use this for your projects, but ping me if you do โค๏ธ
neeeeeaaaat
Second character I've made (this is not his real clothes but I wanted to try some tissu working stuff. Anyway he's called Tsev and he's one of the main character but I won't say much yet ^^
Ooooohhh!! Tsev looks so cool!! I like your art!
@slender portal thanks a lot :D
I did a portrait of our barbarian half orc
oh damn, that's awesome
thanks! ๐
funky fresh is here with some fresh draws
Thank you! They were just some quick late-night sketches, lol
funky, mate
An overweight tabaxi waving hello
photography is its own art
frankly, this has pretty great composition
the lines (outstretched paw, tail, the tiling) lead directly to the main subject
consistent b&w palette
Thank you
has anyone used campaign cartographer? if so, what did you find was the best road color that you have found
how do you get it black and white, is it a fill style?
click new -> predefined template and scroll to one of the black and white ones
i use cc3+ fwiw
yup. same here. I am using a colored predefined template. roads are just hard trying to get a good color
i had to reinstall recently but let me see if i can find my map
the one i did in color i didnt like so i abandoned it before i really got it to a place where id use it
It is a pain to get it to where you you can make things but after a bit you can make some nice looking maps that go beyond basic, which is nice
i deleted it
so have this madoka as compensation
i used one of the gray colors
i know that
but i cant remember which one
no worries
I feel each time I learn a new thing or two, the maps just keep getting better
Like one of my first still for my new campaign still looks good but I know I could go back and make it so much better
it has made my dungeon building so much faster and as a result my dungeons can be so much more complex
oh, i got that, the town one, then the humble bundle showed up recently(and is still going on) that comes with perspective, tokens, and a couple of other things
Finished my dm screen! Just gotta draw mini wanted posters of all my players characters to stick everywhere on the third wall ๐ so happyyyyy
That's so cute!
looks great!
thanks ^^
my screen, and i'm adding rule cheat sheets on my side ๐
Commission for a drow fighter
spooki
is it just me or does that kinda look more like a monk than a fighter?
fighters can punch
i never said they couldn't
it's just with the pose and all, to me it looks like a monk
This man is doing some muay thai, i mean fighters still can use unarmed strikes XD
could be muay bohran
oh this wasnยดt meant to demean you in any shape or form. This is just me putting in my two cents. More of a general statement to the lovely artist themselves.
i know
wonderful
sorry?
No! You don't have to apologize for anything, you did nothing wrong.
okay
You have yourself a good day fam
you too
Always
@shrewd stag LONG. it took a LONG time.
Latest commission of a Tiefling Monk Character named Grace ๐
I love the wraps on the tail, that's such a great detail
battle nun
My'Fai, a city for my homebrew world.
how does one draw a lute?
first would need to know the size of the lute to be drawn, and on paper, digital, or both as medium for the art?
I'd say look at some photos of lutes, maybe watch a you tube video of one being played, pay attention to how it's held, where the strap sits on the one shoulder, how it's sized compared to the person playing it, and then just put it to paper.
Ah, thanks.
I used to do a lot of drawing, testing my ability with different styles.
I wish I had a scanner so that I could do these maps on paper... honestly I think the look better that way.
Oo, interesting.
I literally have a roll of brown paper for drawing maps on... I drink coffee so staining looks amazing, and then I am versed in cartography skills, so my maps tend to look 'official' even if they are a totally made up location.
Oooo.
It also helps that I took two years of Architectural Drafting (before it all went to being done on computers).
That's nice.
Is old
@gleaming basin also, you may be able to find game models of lutes that you can spin around as reference. Lots of RPG games tend to use them as The Instrumentโข๏ธ so there's lots of models out there
Oh thanks.
I've almost finished her. It's a lot better than when I drew her for the actual picture of my character sheet.
@thorn orbit Who was the artist?
Just stumbled across this pic, and felt like it must be shared:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/hc7hf8/ocart_hecks_warlock_pup/
it's adorable
Please attribute all creations appropriately.
I genuinely wish I could. I can't find that pic anywhere else online, except that reddit post.
source the reddit post
@glacial hedge Oh sorry, I am the artist ๐ I should've made that clearer
Tbf your signature is on the picture :P
My bad! I was on my phone without glasses lol
I present to you folks, Sailor Cyclops!
yo imma get rid of the wip since its so close to my final thingy
Amazing!
Some of the other Sailors, like Sailor
it looks amazing
One of my players also DMs and she requested this for something. I imagine it was built by a king years ago but he is now corrupted and the Hall's defenses are now haywire and will attack the PCs as they pass through
