It’s a specialization thing, to get that good, you need to put in the time, and most people simply don’t ever have or put in the time to reach that level. I know a few people that do prop design who are really great at it.

When I create a completely new model from scratch anywhere from 5 to 10 hours.
I've been doing this for some time so I have a stockpile of models that I can just sort of you know play The Sims with and dress up and pose and texture and all that so now it takes anywhere between 1 to 2 hours. And that's because I render them as 10,000 by 10,000 pixels

@sullen vapor Ah! I understand the confusion, but it's mostly a type of font that references her own, native language! After all, she's an Earth Genasi (Goliath) Barbarian that comes from a tribe far to the north. Just like how Giovanni is a human Artificer, the choice of font is to give more character to the way their voices would sound :))

My players have met this song dragon in human form, if it wasn't for this darn quarantine I'd be eagerly awaiting the looks on their faces when I plop this down in a combat
The wiki says that song dragons look like coppers but have silvery blue scales, which I tried to replicate by first painting it fully silver, then going over most of it with metallic blue diluted with water - it went nicely into the nooks and crannies of the scale details

Just made up this map for my player's game on Thursday. They're going to be infiltrating a Sahuagin Outpost. My idea is that they can stand on the underwater ledges as difficult terrain, swim in the open water, or stand normally on the wooden platforms. I also added in 3 posts in the water for them to hope on to get to the main dais. I'd love to here some feed back and if there are any suggestions on how I can make combat terrain more interesting or readable.

Thanks =] Yeah with Sahuagin being mostly aquatic I couldn't rationalize them having a land based outpost, but I also didn't want there to be NO land, so that was interesting to finagle.
@barren iron Do you mean to avoid AoO for if they were preforming a ranged attack within melee distance of a creature? That's a good idea. Didn't think of that but it makes sense with them being up out of the water.

What programs do you use to draw? That's amazing!

not exactly art but, a tool that helps. After not having put paint to figurine in almost 20 years, I've began to paint again in order to populate a homebrew campaign with appropriate mini's. Whilst 20 years ago I had painted many armies with citadel paints, these days I've been advised either Warpaint or Vallejo. Whilst both are great paints, the thickness of many cause heavy separation in the bottles layers. Citadel would shake easily, but these other two brands (one which also produces the nolzur's dnd mini's official paintset) at times require a LOT of extra shaking.
Looking at quick solutions to cutting down the manual shaking time I heard many had used steel balls - but many cheaper variants from ebay caused rust inside the paint. So the folks at The Army Painter decided to produce and release packets of guaranteed no rust balls.

I find army painter paints are generally mixed well but will 'unmix' over time if not used so these balls are always helpful. I actually use them mostly for mixing another brand of paint that seems to have a 50/50 chance of being poorly mixed of the rack
