Made a new map for a first session. A party to celebrate the opening of a portal to the Feywild and a friendly kingdom of eladrin that goes horribly wrong, starting the adventure.

Aww, thanks! I listened to a fair bit of tutorials on how to make them look nice. The mountain pass was originally straight too, until I thought about how unlikely it would be that the mountains would just happen to give way like that.

They'll be seasonal, yes. Their hair color will change depending on season -- with the current color being spring. So, it's nothing too extreme.

PT 1. prologue

Vola quietly polished a glass behind the oaken bench. It was later than she would usually stay to work, but she couldn’t leave just yet and she glanced at the parchment in her hand, an unknown letter from an unknown source telling her to meet at her place of work. As she stepped up to the bar to take the next order she wondered what the meeting would hold and made sure her dagger was still there by her side.

Kozim galloped through the woods of A’valaran towards his destination outside the city’s limits. He was running late, the hunt had taken longer than he expected and he was miles away. From his pouch he produced a small gem, glowing brightly, touched it to his forehead and in an instant disappeared in a brilliant flash of light.

Auriel, on time as always, walked calmly towards the tavern that he was instructed to meet at, curious as to what came next. Work at the healing houses, although enjoyable enough didn’t pay well enough, and he was told that whatever this was, it would get him not only a small fortune but a personal recommendation to Grand Maester Seymour.

Kozim pushes open the door to the shining pint and a warm gust blows into the tavern. Casting aside the grey rock that was once full of light. He trots towards a table, casually pushing aside a wooden chair loosely placed at the table and orders a pint of dark ale.

A tall, thin man dressed in black leather armour and wearing a red glove with a strange ensign upon it waited in a corner of the tavern. One by one he caught the eyes of the visitors and finally Vola’s, he beckoned to them as if to say come here. They all walked (trotted in Kozim’s case) towards the low table he was sitting at and waited expectantly. A second later, the strange figure spoke: “hello, my name is Camran, Camran Arulin, and I have a mission for you….”

scored a mix of various greenskin style miniatures from an elderly wargamer giving away a few non-used armies anymore (offered cash but he refused) so a little rebasing of some miniatures required but overall, more than happy with my 'orc/goblin' collection for dnd

well historical is still more popular than fantasy in wargames terms, so most producers specialise in 15mm, but yeah 1990 era fantasy has primarily between 25/28

nowadays its 28 to 45, which any number is still bad guage as they never specify on product pages if it is heroic scale or true form

which makes a 25mm 30mm, a 28 mm more than 32 etc

#

so I always look at miniatures with a nolzurs human in hand before doing anything

#

you also have the issue of 2 different makers claiming trueform 25mm, but one measures foot to eyeline the other foot to top of head

#

which means they don;t match up well at all

#

so mostly eyeing 1990's oldhammer, nolzurs, eureka, frostgrave (though they are smaller than their mm claim) and reaper
