I've heard of it, yeah
Yeah, it's a shame nothing ever came of Dundjinni being updated.
MapForge works on Mac
MapForge isn't one I've heard of... off to the Ecosiary!
There was a kickstarter for it a while back.
https://www.mapforge-software.com/store/
Can anyone decipher this for me?
GraphicConverter detected a retina display.
How would you like to see pictures displayed?
โข Smaller 1 Picture Pixel by 1 Display Pixel (full retina resolution)
โข Larger 1 Picture Pixel by 4 Display Pixels
Bah! I give up.
Macs are not something I'm experienced with, especially modern ones
The Mac isn't the problem. It's a PEBKAC issue.
I believe that's the scale of the image displayed - smaller at 1:1 retina:regular resolution or larger at 1:4 retina:regular
World Engine by d20 Pro might be something else to look into, not sure if it's on sale to non-kickstarter backers yet though
I want to build battlemaps, not worlds.
I think it's supposed to do both. I barely looked at it when I realised it was a web based thing
Got a commission of my Mousefolk/Half-Vampire, Gunslinger/Life Cleric
Now THAT is a character combo I have never heard of before! That is adorable!!
I asked one of my friends to draw up a plan I have for a character
Theyโre a gunslinger Goblin who hides in a Kan Jam can and uses it as full cover after his turns
Dungeon Painter Studio is a little unintuitive at first, but once you get used to it, it' s pretty easy to use.
@obtuse helm I love this so much.
Not sure if I said so before but thank you to someone here for recommending >> https://2minutetabletop.com/
Print & Play Maps and Props
They have tons of great material and I will be using it more ;D
and also: https://www.patreon.com/neutralparty
No worries. He's an Aussie so I have to support him; it's in the birth contract.
Also, check out all the free stuff he has: https://2minutetabletop.com/product-category/free/
I've noticed that most of the tutorial videos for Campaign Cartographer seem to be done by Aussies too.
We're always trying to find ways to escape the island.
I have been meaning to get around to making my own tactical battlemaps for my games for awhile and so over the last couple of days, I finally got around to a...
Yeah, same is true for us Brits
Ok, all this map stuff has piqued by artistic hand again. I am gonna get back into map-making
maybe even modular map-making as a DM
My attempt at an Ocre Jelly.
I thought it was cashew brittle and wanted some.
Rotfl. Yeah I had that thought too.๐
Thanks!
DM Note: Make ochre jellies look delicious. CON saving throw if devoured. On a failed save, you are now controlled by the ochre jelly.
Yes! And the Ocre Jelly must now smell like cashew brittle!
My first thought was like already-chewed gum
Why would you ever chew gum that looked like that, ew!
Anyone else get a 3D pen and then realize they cannot use one without an amount of skill? ๐ฉ
Everything I make is garbage
Oh just keep practicing, you'll get it.๐
What did you use to make that, btw, @placid coral ? It looks so... moist ๐ฉ it's awful but on point.
I used Ochre Yellow Sculpy over tin foil, cooked it, then glazed it with Sculpy Glaze and let dry. I use a bit extra and tried to make it look slimy, shiney and gloopy. @vast harbor I'm glad you liked it!๐
The extra glaze definitely worked for this project, A++!
๐
I feel like ".....ewwww...." is exactly the type of emotion evoked ๐
Perfect! One of these days I'll get back to finishing the slimes and oozes and puddings. Black Pudding was next on the list.
Heres my druwizard character ive been looking to play a game with..
what's a f-folk?
the humans native to the Moonshae Isles!
a druzard eh? I like it, the fey familiar plus the yew wand is awesome! and who doesn't like a skimiter?
i played around a lot with builds of wizards with swords. rogue wizards and fighter wizards are probably better builds but i really came to like the wise wizard that can fight and also turn into animals early on
The moonshae isles are the best! Thereโs so much there; you could play from 1 to 20 and never leave their shores.
They were my introduction to the Forgotten Realms in 1e
its an amazing place for a setting! it feels very historical and magical at the same time
id love to play there someday
Ffolk are a human ethnicity i think
The ffolk and the northlanders are the two major human ethnicities of the Moonshae Isles.
yeah i ran a game there recently
Dealing with a druid who was snatching the power of the Earthmother's children. The Pack, Leviathan, and Unicorn
The ffolk are an offshoot of the... damn, I can't remember. Starts with a 't'. A human ethnicity from inland Faerun who emigrated to the islands and pushed the northlanders out, which is why there's animosity between them
Tethyrians?
Yes, I think that may be the one.
Ooooh
where you make those?
How do you mean?
He means "What software did you use to make these logos?"
Final encounter for my daughter's birthday game.
Sorry for the format. Got them ready for printing.
I digitally drew the papercraft Flux Changers i drew by hand. Now Iโll be able to make tonnes of minions for my players to battle. Just a quick trim, fold and glue.
(See earlier post in this thread)
(Flux Changers from Ravnica)
Those look great! Thought about doing something similar once, but never got around to it.
my Warforged Ab31 and his familiar Charles.
is he in Ebberon? is he on the lwarforged directory?
Warforged directory? Sorry, I was just making a joke... Cain and Abel
i get it but abel is rather niave and doesn't get... like any jokes.
Ah, I"m with you now
he's only recently left the lab he's been working in and making all sorts of new friends
By a weird coincidence, I'm currently playing a character called Abel, and I'm Charles.
well ab31 is short for Arcane Bipedal designation 31
he is a specilized warforged for alchmey, brewing and herbalism
he is.... very dumb.
or actually he's very smart but has no frame of reference for right and wrong and half his party is chaotic
Sounds like fun.
Here are three of my little Pixie player characters. Artist that drew them is linked as well.
https://www.deviantart.com/bubachan-desu
Lilyflower, the Pixie Cleric
Maple, the Assassin Rogue https://www.deviantart.com/bubachan-desu
https://www.deviantart.com/bubachan-desu
Dawn, the Barbarian Pixie
Playing around with a hay brush
My tiefling gunslinger/forge cleric Melech Ha'Olam. A friend of mine drew it for me and I love how he turned out.
https://www.deviantart.com/rakao Link to the friend's art.
does anyone know where to find the blueprints for those health potions?
Hullo! I'm sorry, I hope I'm using this channel properly, but I'm working hard on a story and have already written 9 parts to it! If anyone would like to check it out, I'd like to leave the link, and if doing so is a problem, I'll take it down ๐
https://www.wattpad.com/story/175310568-dreamwalker
The cover art, as well as art I intend to add in the future is done by me as well
Writing is an art! Welcome, Bee. ๐
Thank you very much!
And because this is a D&D Beyond server, I'd also like to share some fanart I've done for CR!
I love some good ol mr clay, and such a pretty piece to go for him ๐
https://twitter.com/Pinz_art/status/1092726591115968513 Im new here thanks to crit role myself but I come with a bit of art thats not condeusive too where I came from ^^; still proud of it! and its for a homebrew piece I made and put up on the dms guild!
HEY ALL! I put a new class up on the #dmsguild today! Featuring my artwork for the Druid Circle of the Many! go check it out here! its pay what you want of course take it for free or for more! https://t.co/8WeUi6hNlo
https://twitter.com/Pinz_art/status/1084144437515767808 also made this lady, completely randomised character excersize!
this was before I found out she used a spiral lollipop
So is fic a form of art?
my current party atm!! (im the tiefling)
@coarse venture I'd consider it so! But considering how lengthy our writings can be, I think it would be best to link to the writing rather than posting it here.
Just playing around, not my best work but i was bored! Happy late Valentine's from your local illithid!
@azure cradle I was planning to link it. Lol
Good good, warning was just in case! ๐
One more of my Pixies, link to the artist provided. https://www.deviantart.com/himegriffin
This is a Critical Role fiction ive written. Its a theory for how Calebs story arc may end. Obviously spoilers for c2. The epilogue goes up Monday. But if i hit 926 hits before then, ill post early.
And PLEASE leave comments i want feedback!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the
Organization for Transformative Works
This is a painting I just completed of a one-time character of mine.
Drunk Scottish Elven Bladesinger wearing a Kimono. Dafina Maliamne
I should get my dragon-bloodline sorcerer drawn up sometime
My main PC's Knock Knock and Nowhere (I messed up the nose x.x)
Kenku
Xuxa, a shadow magic sorcerer I'm planning to use for a future campaign!
AWW I LOVE THEM
Very cool
So cuuute
AWH thats precious
thatโs adorable!!!
Thrull, my half-orc Ranger! I still have not played with him, but I like to have a few characters ready for when I get to play a game
Donar and Volta. Cleric and Paladin of Bahamut and very much married. this is a pretty typical scene in their marriage. Donar not taking his cleric duties seriously and Volta being annoyed
I love them
very nice stuff
Here's a very Tarot inspired drawing of my Aasimar Bloodhunter
I love him lots and he just got a redesign by @blackfeathersketchbook
He's very emo and I love him
very nice
this reminds me of a few yugioh cards which gives me an idea
thanks ahh!!
and oh my gosh whats the idea
a new spell ill do some thing about it 1st
ooooo very cool omg
My copper Dragonborn Druid (heโs got mixed parentage, a blue and copper Dragonborn hence the mixed scales lol). This guy is in use for a Hoard of the Dragonqueen campaign Iโm in, heโs pretty interesting, got himself arrested once already haha
OOOO omg that's so cool!!
My DND Dragonborn
Mine does and thanks
Kind of makes me curious what the kid would look like between a Tiefling and a Dragonborn
i think they have the build of a dragonborn but the features of a teifling or they other way around
Depends too on the Tiefling's ancestry. While Asmodeus is the most common, and I think actually managed a blood curse to kill all that aren't his spawn, they could have different and therefore lack the horns. I'm not sure if that's in the SCAG variant.
Here is the lore on it: https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/scag/races-of-the-realms#Tieflings
For example under variant there are physical features that would make you resemble Graz'zt: https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/grazzt
conjurer?
Is she possibly evil?
The primary deity in my world.
God of Well-worn roads and far-footed wanderers of every kind.
That is a fantastic design!
Thanks!
I like his staff
Gives me a shaman vibe nice
I can imagine encountering him for the first time and how climactic that could be
That's definitely the plan.
here is another version of Donar and Volta. i feel like this belongs in one of those old style "illuminated" books
@edgy hill Now that's just wonderful! Great work.
Those are really cool. How long did it take to make those?
@wicked yoke @wraith pumice Thank you ๐ Creating one takes me about 3 - 4 hours
Oh woah those look really nice!
@stone light
I gotta ask, what's their last name?
For the lovely couple you've been posting
Donar Silverskale and Volta Grimsbane
@grim ivy They are progressive and Volta said she would take his last name when he could be her in combat.
beat?
Hmn, depending on type of cleric
you could do the good ol'
maximum lightning/thunder damage trick
he is a life Cleric
Ah, gotcha
the story goes he was training to be a theif until he stole from the wrong mob boss and he was beaten into the gournd and left for dead, some cleric from the church of bahamut found him and nursed him back to health
And Volta?
so he became a cleric, and while he was on walk about her ran across a town that was overrun with gnolls.
most of the villagers were dead except a half orc woman that had managed to survive, her managed to beat a few off her, and then ran with her over his shoulder for a few days before getting back to a temple and nursing her back to health
and she too the vows of apaladin even though she probably would have ended up a bard as she performed in a tavern.
Next god on the list: The Dawnwaker.
Starting to define the style a bit more.
Made a fun mixed-media piece yesterday:
Thatโs really cool
Theyโre cute
Gilander (Rouge/Swashbuckler) and Faye (Scorerer/Draconic)
That art is dope! Love it!
Ab31, Dafina, the first Donar and Volta and thatr one were done by https://twitter.com/l8enji he's totally awesome
Chase the red headed scoreress was done by https://www.deviantart.com/mystsaphyr
the second Donar and Volta was done by https://nightmaskart.tumblr.com/post/178500980386/nightmaskart-new-commission-rate-sheet-is-ready
All these people are really awesome.
Benji i use the most the other two have roving commissions list worth keeping an eye on
Figured Iโd share a few of the character commissions Iโve gotten to do here!
And another one I really liked of someoneโs Druid tiefling
Drew a Human Monk that I'm working on!
Lair of some maw demons and their leader, a hezrou named Goryx the Glutton
@hoary sorrel Those are epic!
Aww, well thank you very much! I really love drawing peopleโs characters. :D Iโll share some of my own here some other time since I donโt want to clog up the chat
That dragonborn is nice.
Thank you! The guy who commissioned him asked for a silver Dragonborn mage with blue robes, glasses, and a cat familiar.
I'm having my lizardfolk drawn right now.
@obtuse helm Thanks!!!
I'm thinking about modelling weapons and items, like this one I made, for a campaign I might run some time in the future; you know, like player weapons and the like.
DDAL07-10 Fire, Ash, and Ruin - Krahharuan Depths (76 x 49)
https://i.ibb.co/GMw8BpB/Krahharuan-Depths.jpg
oooh, its done!?
I think I got all the details described in the module
@hoary sorrel Do you have an art Twitter? I'm thinking about commissioning some artists for my D&D characters in the near future. ๐
@desert rivet Oh, yes I do! I donโt know if I can share links but you can find me under the same name, Oakydeer
And my icon is the same too
For anyone good at art: https://www.forfansbyfans.com/feature/dungeons-dragons-fanforge-info-page.html
those are Amazing @hoary sorrel
Why thank you, my guy! :D
next time i have some money for commishes to get done I'll definately look you up
Goblin ear necklace
Scanlan would be proud
So would Nott
Made a team logo for the Storm Kings Thunder campaign I play in, that my wife runs.
By accident, the original group all had darkvision, so it became a theme as new players joined. Their characters had to have darkvision naturally.
Certainly a fitting name then.
Just got my commission for my D&D character finished! This is my lizardfolk Samurai: Rohrouk.
Looks good, but says dragonborn more than lizardfolk to me.
Depends on the design you're using for each.
I imagine dragonborn as a bit bulkier and less smooth.
I think it looks awesome
Thanks!
majestic!
He is a noble. Educated by the teachings passed down from a gold dragon.
Did you make that keatrel?
Nah, I commissioned it.
Still pretty dope
How I'm spending my afternoon at the local game store whilst my wife works her shift here.
That's very well drawn.
Thatโs an awesome way to make a map. ๐
Another commission I somehow finished last night in a fit of madness.
Nice armor designs!
Why thank you! I had absolutely no idea what his armor should look like so I Hail Mary-ed it and the commissioner liked it. XD
And thank you General! And you could throw me a request but I may not be able to get to it since Iโve got a couple commission jobs lined up I have to tend to.
ok! i see with your artwork skill you must be busy! I'll get back to you one day i suppose!
It's best to ask an artist for commissions. Their talent does deserve to be paid for, just like any other good or service.
I dont have money...i did not know what a commission was...and that it was paid. Sorry!
Oh no no itโs okay! Thatโs how we learn, by asking questions. ๐
And don't worry, I was in the same boat for years. I only just got a job recently out of college.
Same here. ๐Iโve been bouncing from job to job while doing art as my at home work.
Hopefully youโre making enough cash to suffice.
Itโs getting there, thankfully! Iโm hoping that soon I can live off just doing art.
I hope so too ๐
i like the white one
Slowly making portraits for all the dragons
Oh woooooah. :O Dragons are tough to draw, good job man!
I can barely draw...I am in awe of such skills
They aren't actually drawn
they were made using powerpoint
Frost Piercer and snow stalker
I like the Peircer
That Peircer is so sick!
Those were made in powerpoint? Huh, that's pretty cool.
Yeah frost piercers were one of my fav homebrew dragons, definitely going to update them for my new set.
You should totally post them when you do!
They are basically a aquatic ice dragon which freezes in a line harpooning their prey.
Wow thats deadly
๐
especially for a character that will be in the water alot
I hope my players don't mind every encounter being dragons
cause this is all I care about from now on
well its called dungeons and dragons for a reason
But can the dungeons also be dragons?
But dragons are our friends T_T
Dungeons Are Dragons
makes sense
Every encounter is technically a dragon encounter in the camp I'm running as each player has a welp of one of the 20 dragon breeds.
i figured that after you mentioned Eragon
Love that series, btw
read all 4 books
@unkempt tangle - if you have a pocket dimension inside a dragon belly, you totally could have a dungeon in a dragon
well that actually makes sense
I do what I can
thanks
Just finished my Water Genasi Warlock, Influx, and my friends convinced me to share it. What do you guys think? Anything I should change or tweak?
It is entirely up to you. Only question is, are those brown scraps supposed to be the armor, or is this their off-duty clothing?
He only wears studded leather armor, nothing fancy. So this is more of off duty clothing. But that's definitely something i should probably keep in mind if I redraw him
i love his character design! Your shading techniques are awesome too O.O
Thank you! I sometimes find that cell shading is easier, because you don't have to worry about a smooth blend
He's quite handsome.
Thanks, I kind of struggle with same face syndrome so I'm trying to get out of it by changing up proportions and structures
^oh boy thatโs always tough
^ The struggle is real
@hearty flare its great may i may one suggestion though and it may just be me but it looks like his torso and legs dont line up just right
It just looks like he's thrusting his hips to the left.
either way its fantastic im terrible at drawing characters im better at maps
@vale scaffold Thank you so much for pointing that out! I didn't even notice it!
not a problem again it just looked a little off to me here allow me to share as well
Marked and unmarked. The unmarked is backlit after tracing my original copy. The continent of Hilocrawth
The marked version is more cluttered than I would like but thatโs what two copies are for right
The amount of detail you put into this is stunning! I can see why you're really good at maps!
Itโs easy cause it starts as abstract then you just detail it down from there, add bodies of water, squiggle along the edges of your guidelines. If I were to do a full page and I didnโt have the edges of the continent it would be a much different situation. Iโm just working on making small maps for each city, town and village now. Lots and lots to draw and write still even though the campaign has already begun haha
hahaha I feel you there, I'm scrambling to make maps myself for my own campaign that I'm runnjng
Yeah, when I get my tax return Iโm thinking of investing in a pc and start making maps that way.
Even if you think it's โeasyโ it still looks super good and the shape of an actual continent
Oooo, I heard there are some really good PC mapmakers out there
Easier to save digital copies rather than 47 individual pieces of paper. And yeah itโs easier than characters for me for sure haha.
^hahaha makes sense
If you ever need a hand or some extra input on any maps you make id love to help. Iโm a bit of an architectural buff so Iโm fairly passionate about it ๐
I just love how you have such diverse biomes in there! I'm sure you're adventuring party will love exploring all the corners
yeah one of my pcs is fairly traveled already as he is a bard but i havent gotten the chance to actually describe the areas and such so it will be great once they start getting around
It's always good to have a visual representation for the players. I may be mistaken(you might already have it and I'm just missing it), but it could be cool to have a desert. I feel like a lot of campaigns don't have those and it could be really interesting habitat for unique monsters and creative/memorable/magical cities
But honestly, it's so amazing already that it might not even be needed
The Rosso Desert central near the lower half of the map
Nevermind, I guess I'm blind
marked by the sideways K looking symbols
all good again its cluttered with all the names so its hard to see everything
All in all, top notch job
thanks i might ask you help in drawing a character or two someday haha
Haha As long as I get map help, it sounds like a deal
100%
So, I've been using this as my main search engine lately and, for some very odd reason that I don't understand, it's way better for finding character art than even Google Image Search.
You are very correct about that!
Nice
i hav a few from before i played
hold on im very trembly today all the pictures coming out of my phone are blurred
is cool i aint drawn in years
Here they come, not sure which one is the best quality so ill send 3
so seaelf?
yup
nice
thankyou. Anything i should change?
a skeleton?
basicaly a stickfigure
whay tou have is great i'm giving a sygestion
oh ok
its how i selftaught
I just draw lines, until i get a good one. I have to say tho, up until 5 years ago i only drew stick figures
small ones tho
like comic strip small
holf on ley me shor tou an exalple
Not my art, but art of my bloodhunter Pride Snow
I love it
Can't make up his mind, so he uses both a short sword and a scimitar.
The best beans are small beans

from ffxiv
I got this done by @madiecookie on twitter. It's my warlock Murray and his flying monkey familiar peanut.
oh that's great!!
@dry radish you were looking for things to make battle maps, I forgot to ask if you'd looked at Arkenforge. That has a Mac launcher
thanks @thick urchin you and your husbands characters are very well done, very cute
Thank you!
Hey guys I have a thread up on the forums to host my character portfolio but I think I might drop some in here too ๐
This is Temiki, my half-orc paladin that I'm playing on the PbP Coliseum of Conquest
I also take commissions! Here are a couple pieces I was commissioned for:
Gilly, a half-elf wizard librarian
And Stine, a half-orc fungal druid!
Me too, I love the semi-minimalist style
Kinda reminds me of clue in a way
Thanks! :)
I wonder how you do Dragon Scales
I've never tried dragon scales but it sounds like an interesting challenge lol
If you show me something maybe you could draw something for a Friend of Mine
his B-day was 3 days ago
And he plays a Dragonborn soo
Nice
They both look great
thanks ๐ I think I want to make an even more simplified version than the first one. more towards a Toriyama kind of thing
thanks! Tried to get some Wolverine thing going on with that facial hair since I didn't want full beard
Some art in progress from GoinsGraphics, incomplete but hopefully will finish up in the next week or so.
Absolutely love the aesthetic, and the bow has a really cool design
Campaign logo for Dragon Heist. Not sure when I'm going to run this one though.
Then again, I just like the warforged aesthetic in general
I guess Iโm just a fan of 3D text that looks nice now
Thereโs a lot of talented artists here actually, makes me kinda jealous
But hey, hopefully one day Iโll be able to post music
I like the lettering a lot! I would make less use of highlights but that's really a personal thing. I think it looks good like this too
๐
It was a lot brighter, but a misclick made it dark like this... so I left it that way. :D
whispers
Im making an entry for the DM's Guild, thought I'd share some art I made for it ๐
Thatโs amazing!
nice figurines!
Since im bored ill just fiddle with Gacha Life for a bit
@proven estuary sorry to disturb you...can i post content from Gacha Life here if I credit them? I beleive it is technically original art as i am making a custom character....
@proven estuary yes you can
ok
This was made using Gacha Life....
This also happens to be an Anime Representation of my most recent character! Enjoy!
Image Screenshot-20190221-072710-Gacha-Life hosted in imgbb.com
Can I ask some questions about miniatures on here?
or is there a more appropriate room for that?
Considering the questions might find answer in images, I'd say you can post them here
ok i decided to not be as lazy and draw my own character
it will be posted in a sec
Here is Ahashรซ
she is a pirate
that's quite the arsenal you have there
yeah 2 daggers, 2 swords, a longsword...shes gonna be a blademaster
Nice! That's very kind of you.
So let's see... A forge cleric human, I think. A tabaxi rogue, perhaps? Tiefling rogue, maybe a swashbuckler, or maybe a bloodhunter or fighter (hard to tell), and a tiefling of some class I couldn't say.
heh they are Sylvian (Half wood elf/Ranger/Hunter), Lothar (Assimar/Wizard/Bladesinger), Rezana, (Tabaxi/Bard/lore) and Ashleigh, (Human/Cleric/Forge)
Ash is pretty obvious
i feel they are front heavy
The art?
Ah, well that's probably a conversation for another channel ๐
these characters just hit 15\
Great job!
That's quite a good looking party though.
Got myself a head shot of my Renaissance man. And what a determined look he has.
looks good.
Thank you. He likes to be fancy and well-cultured. High society and all that.
sweet
What's funny is that all my fellow players in his group don't even know what class he is! He rolled like a god, so he's gotten to screw around with some extra feats he might not have gotten otherwise.
@stone light I love that so much
Hiho! new to the server, Came for all of the art. Amazing to see all of the art/mini's and more
Welcome! And enjoy our little gallery.
Thank you! Your Dragonborn looks great ๐๐ป
He's actually a lizardfolk.
Oh darn, my bad hahaha xD Still though, looking sharp
You're not the first to make that mistake ;P
I posted his other image further up a few days back.
Lets see
I'm not sure what the policy on reposts is, so you might just have to scroll up and find it yourself. It'll be easy to pick out.
Oooh Samurai
that's neat! the art looks great. It's still very hard for me to draw characters that are sitting chairs or couches, they always look weird when I do
Oh, I didn't draw it ๐
I drew one of my characters, a Drow Barbarian not too long ago
Neat!
Thank you! Yeah, I read about all the subclasses of the barbarian and this one sounded the coolest to me
Well, you're certainly very good.
that, my friend, looks like official art
Thank you very much! I'm trying to draw some more of my characters and some of the characters of the group I'm in
Well, depending on if you do commissions, I might be interested at some point in the future. If you post somewhere, feel free to send me a link.
Iโve started work on making homebrew potion cards and have had them professionally printed
Pretty!
Those would be neat to have if I had an in-person game.
I could make them digitally too. I was thinking of making a catalog with coupons inside to redeem discounts in game. The potions are from an in game magic shop franchise called Salazars Potion Emporium
A sprite of a magic item I cooked up for a campaign as possible future reward for my players
A staff meant less for casting and more for smashing
Looks like something my Zealot barbarian/War Cleric would love
Looks like something a monk would use to slow down time and smash their opponent with!
Staff of Time Stop
Looks great!
Thanks!
It actually doesn't offer any spells or effects like that, I originally had ideas like that but I decided to do something different with it. Been a while though
I think it was: 1d6 Bludgeoning, Versatile (1d8). On a successful melee attack, roll a 1d10. On a 1, nothing happens. On a 2-9, the hourglass shatters and deals 1d4 piercing damage to the target and can't be smashed again until repaired. At the start of your next turn the hourglass turns back time and reforms, reapplying the piercing damage as the glass pulls from the victim, double if the target healed between the two applications of damage. On a 10, the staff deals the piercing damage but also applies the effects of Faerie Fire to the target until the hourglass reforms, as the target is coated in swirling sand.
I actually have a few others, like a bubble rapier
And an Eldritch spear
The bubble rapier!! I love it!
Omg the Eldritch Spear is everything
I immediately thought of Bubbles from Finding Nemo at the rapier. Brilliant!
DUUUUUDE I LOVE THESE
@sharp bronze , who makes map assets for tabletop games is streaming right now on Twitch.
He makes the assets I use for map making

This is my first dungeon. If you have any questions about each feature, feel free to ask! This was made using Hexographer
(if you click on it the quality gets a bit better)
How is it, running a hex system? I've only ever used squares
its fun, i guess. I have never used a square system tho xD
Have you looked into Dungeonographer? Also, what do you think of Worldographer getting the dungeon/battle mat feature soon?
I tried Dungeonographer, liked Hexographer better. Never heard of Worldographer tho
Worldographer is basically Hexographer 2?? Lol
But
is it free?
no its not
hnnnggg I really like my Genasi ๐ญ
hnnnggg indeed! (Good job!)
Neat hair. And I really like the details around the eyes.
Hairs not done yet, a lot of the piece is still unfinished :< but its the first time I'm really happy with how fire came out XD
Here is my favorite mini Iโve painted so far. Just finished her about two days ago. I just wish I had clay sculpting skills to change the circular backpack to something like hair since I plan on using her for D&D, not Wahammer. lol
Woah these look awesome!
@merry steeple @lunar lark both of those are great!
Thanks! Here is the back piece Iโm talking about.
Speaking of fire, I also did this sword on request, the person said their character had a blade possessed by a phoenix
Hello, is anyone here particularly fond of Mapmaking?
I enjoy it. I use Dungeon Painter.
Nice. I've been trying to make a map for a whole new world for a campaign
Have you checked out Wonderdraft?
is an intuitive yet powerful fantasy map creation tool for 64-bit Windows 10, Linux, and MacOSX.
That looks amazing
Definitely buying this
Thanks
Already looks better than what I was able to put together in Affinity lol
That looks like an awesome program. Wish I had a reason to homebrew a world. ๐
I'm starting a campaign with a completely original world, so it definitely helps me
Wonderdraft uses Wine on Mac, which makes it a non-starter for me.
Wonderdraft aint free! ๐ฆ
It doesn't even have a demo version.
i see that Wonderdraft has no free alternative...
that is the same site
I am using Hexographer
Watched the video on Wonderdraft's site. very impressive. I'll give it a go later on.
Reminds a bit on Inkarnate, but much more complete and versatile
I use Inkarnate now, and I will happily take a superior alrernative if it works as advertised.
heres some maps i made
in about 20 mins
with wonderdragt
all in wonder draft, words too
im not very good at making maps
but this was very easy andf they turned out pretty nice
this is one i made on Inkarnate (free version)
yeah, i would say my main different with inkarnate and wonder draft is the sense of scale
inkarnate has very specific size restrictions to it's maps and the mountains are not super easy to scale to a map of a larger area
yeah, gotta make the scale yourself, if you use the really small tool on Inkarnate it helps make things look bigger
also inkarnate's labeling system is not great
agreed
inkarnate is a perfectly serviceable local campaign map making tool, especialy if you're willing to finish the map in photoshop
adding city indicators and words
but if you want it all in one with a few more features (such as the paths and river tool)
then i think wonderdraft is worth 20 bucks
i got into D&D before i got a job so making maps on Inkarnate was the best i could do, now i work so much i don't have the time to make them if i wanted to lol
i like making the maps and then using them on Divinity Original Sin 2's Game Master mode
there i can set the city pins, name them, get general forests and whatnot
Made using?
oh man, now i want a full campaign set in ice
wonderdraft
Nice. I'm excited to try it out.
Too bad I don't have any money ๐
"I wisely started with a map."
Here is a map of fearun I made for my games.
I have also completed maps of Kara-Tur and Zakhara. Next on my list is Maztica
I'll be recreating my Inkarnate map into Wonderdraft. I'll post my attempts here when I do.
Here's A VTT mockup I was thinking of for DND Beyond. It would e sort of like first person table top Simulatoresque.
Dice Tray: In the storage area (slim space in the dice tray), there'd be a UI that DM uses to request roll. Upon clicking the dice, a UI element would pop up next to that particular dice representing the amount of dice will be rolled. After clicking all the dice you wish to roll, all the dice selected will be thrown onto the tray area where the count willl begin. The tray area space can be cleared upon clicking a UI button called clear dice tray.
Character Sheets: Why reinvent the wheel. The character sheets offered from DnD Beyond are immaculate. Allow users to interface the game objects as if they had the web browser open.
Spells: Just for representation sake, it'd be cool to have spell/monster/mini handouts of some of your most used items on the table that you could pan at during the session.
Initiative Tracker (not shown: Based on Encounter Builder, the initiative tracker would update at DMs command.
Battle Map: Fog of War not shown, maps would be controlled by DM and could be Panned/Zoomed/Edited to add effects/replaced with video snippets, gifs, etc.).
primary navigation would be movement of mouse to move the user's head, scroll would be used to zoom in on objects. Upon focusing on certain objects, UI elements would pop up that prompt the user to interact with the particular object (i.e. roll dice, focus on character sheet, focus on spell, wildshape handout, focus on battle map, DMs would have a much larger toolset of options like clearing fog during a dungeon crawl, changing out maps, giving/taking specific handouts as needed.
I made a whole bunch of characters for DND, but here's the newest one I made, Effy the bard ๐
Love your style!
Spooky, I love it
in love, holy crap that looks so good
thank you!
@silent shell I showed that to one of my friends and they were curious what race she was
She's a harpy!
based on the name, that makes sense.
do you intend on playing as an homebrew harpy?
If i knew how to homebrew a race i would do that actually
Already searched it up a week ago, did it again today
we made these DIY dice trays! found the boxes at Michael's in the wood section, used dowels for the dividers for the dice, wood stain, & felt for the bottom. super economical option for those that can't afford the beautiful work that Wyrmwood does. happy to share more details for anyone that wants to try it!
Woww @latent perch , those are gorgeous!
Damn! 8O Thatโs a good idea!
Oh right! That's what I was gonna do today!
What was the program called?
Gonna have to download it and screw around with it.
Oh cool, there are other people into map building!
Speaking of which, does anyone know some good, free to use mapmaking websites?
Besides Inkarnate
I don't actually know any that are for free
After over a decade of running campaigns in this general part of my game world, I finally redrew the map in my current style. Now I think I might need to run another campaign here...
(seems Discord doesn't like my high res version, so here's the low res copy)
Yesterday I posted a map of Faerรปn, well for 40$ I got it printed on a banner at Staples to scale. (4ft x 3ft)
It feels like a map and the colors are so vibrant.
@hardy raptor I always start with a poster board and a pencil. ๐
My newest character, Vartan the Half-elf Wizard.
Happy Birthday to me ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regular Gnoll artists: Ale...
shouldnt that go in #non-dnd-topics
I mean, I feel like it could go in either.
whatever then
Tips for DMs who wanna use this thing i made for my ravnica game: Never Go Full Rakdos
If I was a Barbarian I would totaly kill
Rakdos ftw
Full Rakdos is basically full Barbarian but on steroids and with an addition 5 anger problems
Nah that sounds intensely Gruul
Rakdos isn't anger, it's more refined killing, for the pleasure and entertainment of those witnessing it
@oak rose Yeah I think Discord throttles the size of the files. But that's why the forum posts are so good.
This is a character I didn't really get to play much but I wont let a good drawing go to waste lol. She is a Tiefling Warlock Celestial patron that uses mask of many faces to look human most of the time.
Mask of many faces is a spell. But I also like the idea! ^^
Could anyone draw a pirate with bright red pants, a bright red vest, and a grey wide brim fedora, the actual fedora not a trilbee, and a bright red feather coming out of the hat? (generic off-white, loose shirt) I have no money ๐
I'm sure many can, I'd suggest listing if you have a budget or not.
Sometimes I go a little too crazy and render the heck out of potential character ideas >:)
You may find this a little boaring but the start of the video is dnd related as the custom items I have had made for our games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUC_jOdkTtg

gonna be making a new dungeon soon, i'm excited
Water Elemental Myrmidon I painted a few months ago
Oooh, that's neat. How long did that take?
Probably a hour or two, gave it a day to dry with clear coat afterwards
Woah
The elemental myrmidons are some of my favourite enemies, and that just makes me like them more
Gosh dang, I really need to get into painting some minis.
I've got the tools, just can't get the gumption
I don't really have the time to anymore
New job and all that
That Myrmidon was the last thing I painted, so it looks better than my first wave of minis
It'd be nice to paint a figure, but I don't have any in-person games, and my hands are definitely not surgeon-steady.
I play so infrequently and don't have a good group to DM for anymore, I get your pain
I've got two online campaigns though. I get by on having art for my characters.
My hands are not steady (though if it gets bad after painting for a while I drink a little Scotch and it seems to help, probably because I am less stressed) but it's still fun to do painting projects, whether I use them or not.
I have quite shakey hands myself, and know plenty of people who can paint minis very well who don't have steady hands. It's just something that takes practice and diligence, like most things.
I'll admit my lack of a gumption is largely because I'm impatient and want to skip the beginning and middle part of being really bad.
Yeah, it's frustrating - I know my limited skill will have backslid because it's been at least 6 months since I painted, and I wasn't that good at that poing.
I'd probably have to get my current character custom-made. Since the lizardfolk figures that are on the market are all more tribal in flavor.
I just envy those who can paint with such precision to make them look good.
This is the best I've done so far - back in July. I'm a little proud of the horns.
I've thought about that myself. Getting a model made at HeroForge and then commissioning a paint job.
I'd have to go even further than that, since lizardfolk facial constructions have only a single option for HeroForge.
At least, last I looked.
I love Heroforge, I'm so hooked on getting JUST what I want in a mini (like my Tiefling not wearing armor!)
Fair.
There's probably more options now that 3D printing is becoming more popular and cheaper to get into.
Yeah, I have one good HeroForge character, but the one I'm thinking of is too custom/homebrewed for the race to fit.
Shapeways has some good designers, it's where I found a Skittermander for Starfinder.
Makes sense, might be worth checking custom designers for 3D prints, then.
Yeah, should the need ever arise.
I actually am on the other side, I don't have a need for it but I want to commission an artist to do some of my characters just because I find it cool to have art of them.
I understand. I've spent more on art in the last two weeks than I have in the past two years.
Decided to upload all my commissioned artwork to a single gallery:
https://imgur.com/gallery/Tl6zSTn
Omg, thatโs amazing
Fabulous.
@silent shell Im getting some Wave Echo Cave vibes from that
Yeah, the artist is very talented. Came across some of his amazing Critical Role fan art. Keep an eye out for when he opens commissions.
Definitely want to keep my eye on him indeed
There are so many great critical role fan art pieces out there man ._.
always leaves me in awe
Made a gallery of my three attempts at making a D&D map. Just part of a world map, where the party remains at this time.
I originally worked with Worldspinner, which is a site that creates randomized maps. Then went on to Inkarnate, and just recently finished doing it up in Wonderdraft.
that's a cool map, I like all the sea creatures.
so i drew my character Axilia, female high elf lvl4 druid. enjoy ๐
Enjoying
my ranger finny, i did commision this
I painted a thing. Scared the hell out of my players in yesterdays game:)
https://twitter.com/TypYourBard/status/1100091197215916032
Really nasty for lower levels
I love Mouse Guard and Redwall. Kinda been looking for something related to micelings on 5e and could not find. I might write it and publish it somewhere ๐
Mouse Guard has their own RPG, it's structured very well for their mousey-world.
did you play it? I read it but never got to play. I'm curious on what's the actual gameplay like
I did get a session or two in - but I also had an excellent GM, so it was a ton of fun for us.
nice! I might start writing some rules to try to adapt it to 5e, after reading the mouse guard manual again
Humble Bundle currently has a Fantasy Game Dev bundle. Seems like it might be a good source of assets to use for making maps or player handouts
nice! I'll check it out. thanks @atomic mountain

Redwall โค๏ธ
Here is the start of a map I have been working on. What does everyone think?
Less water between the landmasses here than there is between North America and Europe
Thatโs true, but the ratio seems to be much different
The landmasses themselves are good, with one particularly fantastical landmark in the upper right corner.
Just eyeballing it, it does appear to be an 80/20 split between water and land, while most fantasy maps tend to focus much more on landmasses.
Unless you're planning on a majority nautical campaign
Which, considering the upcoming May 2019 release, would be a great idea!
Iโm planning on a good mix.
There's less opportunity for land travel in this world, which is an opening for a greater degree of naval dominance.
WOO! I just finished my most recent commission, an Aarakocra monk!
Lemme see
OOOOH!
No wings?
His player said he wanted him to look like a secretary bird. And no, notice the bandages around his chest?
I love it!
Awww, thank you! ๐ญ
absolutely gorgeous
Thank you very very much. :D
It looks very good, I wish I had half the talent everyone else here has
Oh itโs truly just thousands of weekends spent indoors practicing drawing the same circle over and over XD
You can do it too! ๐
Are we allowed to ask about commission prices in this channel?
Cause I want to ask about them :P
Oh! Well, just a moment then
If not, I bet you can ask via Direct Message
Oh man, if drawing peopleโs D&D characters and stuff could be my job? Iโd be on cloud 9.
There's demand for it, but there's also a lot of suppliers.
But, from that commission, I will say that you've definitely got talent @hoary sorrel
Awww, thank you! :โD I try. Real hard.
If I had the money, Iโd definitely get a commission
I have them open pretty much all the time so lemme know! And once in a while I take sketch requests on my twitter so ayy ๐๐๐
Yeah, I'd commission you, but I don't have any characters I'd want art of ATM. Already got my Half-Orc, Centaur, and Warforged done.
Oh boy Iโve wanted to play all of those races but havenโt gotten to yet!
So many character concepts, so little playtime.
i just make them into npcs until i have time to actually play them lmao
I actually do have a character that may need art. Let me dm you @hoary sorrel
Trying a new art style quickly
Very snazzy
is that a metal claw-flail?
@hoary sorrel goodness gracious, thats beautiful art!
Youโre very skilled!
Have you ever done an art trade?
@tawny escarp is that available somewhere?
I've seen that map elsewhere; have you posted it on reddit?
Also, that red on blue makes my brain hurt.
yeah, maybe the blue of the ocean could be less saturated
I like your map
Very nice bird.
@wooden dagger I will try that later. So far I only have hi- res Faerun, Kara-Tur, and Zakhara as separate images Hit me up if you want me to send you the link.
Though here is a Q, Once i finish Maztica I will have done all canon material for FR done. Should I fill out the remaining land with homebrew stuff or just leave it?
@dry radish Yes! I posted Zakhara and Kara-Tur to Reddit!
I was thinking maybe add some important points on the major cities? blacklake and so on
Oh! I was meaning the continents with no info like Osse, Anchorme, and Katashaka
@steady marten Oh wow, thank you! And yes, I actually just recently did one over on Twitter :D
@turbid fiber here is one of my maps converted to black/white with the Photocopy filter in Photoshop
That's a pretty good idea! I also just want a lazy option as my homebrew I'm able to take this extra time on, but I also run AL every week as well so anything I can do to cut down on my overall prep time is valuable to me
Art I got commissioned for my new homebrewed Astral Tabaxi Warlock/Bard who charms the pants off people and channels his Eldritch Blast through his card deck.
Goodness gracious, those boots and the folds in the jacket are so good o
Yeah Im super pumped about how it came out and the fact that the lute looks more interesting than a normal lute. I HATE the normal lute design haha idk why
Also, would the Card Blasts be like how Gambit used his cards?
Yeah pretty much, visually. But each of the cards does something different
O
I dropped a link to the big ol massive Reddit post I wrote up about it over in the #homebrew if you want to read details
Ohh, I'll go check it out soon
It sounds really freakin cool though! always loved Gambit using the cards
-flashbacks-
Yeah he was always my favorite X-Man and Ive been trying to find a way to be a throwing card warrior in literally any video game or DnD game ever haha
Its just not a thing like anywhere and that makes me sad
So I mades it up lol
no other game it fits in more than good ol D&D
Indeed
Who's the artist if I may ask
Did it for $45, which wasn't bad at all
and was super chill about all of my pickiness haha
Wait, he did it in 2 days?!
OH man, I'd love to do commissions one day but I need to work on my speed ._.
He legit had a rough sketch for me in like an hour or two, my mind was blown haha
He does a lot of DnD character portraits though
And you did! haha
Right now I'm working on a Tarot cardish idea thing for a friend of mine
the quality should be better now
aye, better than it was
I have no clue xD just tried to draw her based on some background I know of her character
Ooo its a portrait, I thought you meant you were making like functional tarot cards haha
Thats hella sick though, I like it
@steady marten - yes I have done art trades before
I wish I were that good, I just need to draw more ๐ญ
Drawing Mollymauk and my hand is dying.
Looks nice!
Awww nice.
LONG MAY HE REIGN
You haven;t even started on his tattoos. Dead hands then.
@graceful quail ohhh, would you like to do one with me someday? Maybe just a doodle or a full sketch, Iโm not sure
That Mollymauk looks amazing
Long May He Reign!
Definitely see this popping up on the Episode, good job so far, @willow violet โค
I finally finished it. oof my hand. (Thank you everyone for the kind words omg. ;;)
Wow that's really amazing!
Thank you so much! ๐
Beautiful ๐
We wonโt steal from happy people.
You going to submit it for consideration for the fan art reel ?
That is good art.
I'm thinking about it fjdfiun
I agree, you should submit it. Nothing lost in trying.
I finished the sketch for an Eladrin Fighter/Warlock for a new homebrew I'm in and I'm very proud of this.
Whoa! That definitely gives off the eladrin vibe. So fancy.
Aww thank you. And yes very fancy.
Getting a very '80s glam rock vibe, which is perfectly eladrin.
Considering I'm going to be putting him in some bright colors it is certainly going to be glam.
noice
Making an entry for the DM Guild, here is a wip of art for a subclass
Cool. Which class is it for?
The rogue ๐
HOLY YES
@humble turret THAT SHIP IS GREAT, sorry, I just really love that
I'm glad!!
@snow plaza How do you use those assets in PS?
Literally just dump them in as pngs and arrange them.
This is a map I made for my starting town.
Dump them in how? I use GIMP so I know it's similar but not exactly the same. I mean, I've got literally about a thousand or so assets. I want to be able to scroll through them all in the program I'm using. Is that even possible in something PS/GIMP?
Ah, that's where I'm not sure how to do it. I find the png's in their appropriate folders on my PC, then drag them into photoshop when I need them.
Im pretty sure there is a way to have collections. Let me investigate quickly.
Right. Yeah, it's a major pain having to go back and forth. I mean, I guess I'm only using a small subset of the assets in any single map, but still, even the whole cloning/layering shit in GIMP drives me up the walls. I'm a simple person who likes simple things that work, simply.
Lol, so am I haha.
Hmm, I can't remember how to make the in-photoshop image palette. Sorry mate.
Np
Ms. Chastity Lovelace
Lovely name haha xD
Ahh, I love tieflings with hooves!
I bet you romanced Tali in Mass Effect ๐
Never played it ๐คท
My mind immediately went to Draenei
Ooohh, such a good game, highly recommend it
You never played Mass Effect? The best game in existence?
With a totally non-controversial ending?
I got an amazing commission done of my half-orc bard, and I absolutely love how amazing it turned out! โค The artist is evilovsyanki on Tumblr for those interested!
That is beautiful
Right?! I just stumbled onto their Tumblr and knew I needed to commission them for her. โค Their work is outstanding.
the belowdecks on my ship
Gunnery deck, mess hall, and the ship's hold
based on my research on real ships many of the crew slept on the gunnery deck between cannons, which is why there's lots of bedrolls there
also the chef would sleep in the kitchen area
there's also bedroolls in the belwdeck so folks can sleep in the mess
all space must be functional at all hours
@dry radish I did.
So I just watched PubDraw ep.1 on Critical Roles youtube, and I have to say, I'm pretty happy. This is a step up from my stick figures. Thanks Babs!
Nice work!
Thanks!
Nice! They use a couple of really good methods ๐๐ปare you going to continue the series, Acean?
Yes definitley, i really enjoyed doing this, so I look forward doing it again
Looking forward to seeing more! And it makes it easier to draw your own characters if you keep doing those techniques
I would like to thank you to the person who mentioned Wonderdraft, here is a worldmap of my upcoming campaign made with ease
Wow!! That's so pretty.
Not quite DnD, but a girl in my IRL home group made me a plush slime for my bday
@agile rock Thank you!
adorable
Got my new paper minis done for my group! ๐
Cute! Whatโs the one on the right end?
Tabaxi fighter ๐
left to right, Firbolg Druid/barbarian, Aasimar Paladin, Yuanti Dragon sorcerer, Kobold Rogue, and Tabaxi fighter
I thought it was tabaxi! It kinda looked like a variant of a charr from Guild Wars 2.
I got the yaun-ti incorrect.
lol yeah my wife and I where making that joke, the character has an antler head dress and is an absalute BEAST so not a normal tabaxi for sure lol
https://twitter.com/Pinz_art/status/1101256170243801088 heres a link too the close ups of the girls
And a link to the boys~ https://twitter.com/Pinz_art/status/1101255299078459393
Kobolds are good. ๐
yesh!~ all 5 pieces are in the two links of course but twitter and discord work strange lol
I started panting minis, and this was my first attempt at it.
Oh cool!
I got a bunch from a failed DnD party so I'm using those for practice.
what are you painting ?
Kashaw, a Critical Role mini
Oh, got it in the kickstarter ?
They release vault minis every month or so of different characters! You can currently pre-order Orly.
Actually, they do Limited Edition runs every now and then
Like Mellie says, Orly's currently up, and will ship in April.
They're up for only a limited time
I do!
Whatโs the best way to highlight the finer details when painting the base coat?
I did all of my detailing at the end. So I did my base coat, then a wash, then I went over highlighted areas with the base colors again, then drybrushed certain areas for extra highlights
Yeah, if you want to paint fast, base coat then wash then drybrush is great. I think lots of advice I've read on reddit (r/minipainting) is to thin the paint a bit so it doesn't erase details and you can do more details and such, but I'm not a good painter enough to really know
@frigid sun how do you make the base for the paper minis?
I took ny secon try on PubDraw today. Beau this time. Something feels very very off, but I cant really find waht. I welcome every advice
Decided to try and visualize my CG Tiefling, Theras! Any tips on improvment? ๐
smooth and clear, It makes me make happines noise ๐ I really like it
Primary color sketch of my tiefling boy Kamir
it looks great!! love the colours
thank youu
@wooden dagger I cut out two 1 inch circles, then cut one in half and placed it over a couple tabs on the bottom of the minis themselves
@frigid sun good to know! thanks!
of course :)! hope it helps
a wand called The Wand of Wonder that i made for one of my campaigns!
Decided to transfer the sketch I uploaded on Friday to photoshop and add some colours and shades to it! Hope you like it! ๐
Ah oh wow! Great job!!
Just curious. How are the rules on linking your twitch art stream here, if people are interested :)?
lol sounds fun
Done for the night. I'll be sure to post the final result here ๐
Please no self promotion of youtube or twitch channels.
๐๐พ
@strange birch You (or I guess @tawdry shoal) should edit that into the rules in #520291181083754516
If it becomes an issue, maybe.
Eh. If it's a rule, it should actually be stated in the rules. ๐
Thank you for your input.
how about artists offering to do commissions? can that be posted here?
No. The topic is discussion and feedback for custom art, materials, and crafts
ok. thanks
