Do you think retaking IGCSE is a good idea?

I got kind of Mid grades for my IGs you can say 50% B grades and 50% A/A* and i am confused if i should retake some of them though it will take time but it will for sure help me get into better universities, i dont plan on applying to all ivies or get into top unis ONLY I am also fine with mid-tier unis as long as I get enough aid and after doing a bit of research I realized for US, IGs dont really matter however for other countries like Canada, UK, Ausi, they need good IG grades + A-Levels grades, assuming I got 1500+ SAT do you think retaking IGCSEs would be a smart choice?

I dont think it would be wise to spend money+time retaking 50% igcse subjects. Focus on AS and A2, get all A/A+ and a good score on the SAT and it should be okay.

If you get A+ in alvls and like 1560 in SAT you can always bring it up that true i was weak in academics but then i improved.

Making this statement is better than regiving 5-6 subjects and wasting a lot of resources on it. It will affect your alvls

I think i can easily ace A-Level math and A-Level CS theyre both easy asf i have been teaching someone AS cs even tho i am not in AS yet 💀 and its pretty easy imo so i can def get good grade in CS and as for Math i can also do well since i took add maths idk about physics tho

You should definitly re-give it if you have not started AS yet. Considering you have already covered the syllabus and it might need a minor touch up and a lot of ppqs, but you can get the top grade. Go for it and aim high! The sky is the limit.

i think i can do well in IG math and IG english since i got my raw marks i was just 10 marks away for an A grade in IG math

and it got affected cuz i got sick

during the exam day

and if i retake i wont have to worry much

but yet again i got a lot on my bucket list like i gotta give SAT and IELTs too

okay there are sooo many things wrong with this.

1. Just because someone else failed does not mean that you shouldnt try as well, everyone is different and has their own discipline.
2. If everyone followed the mantra of 'he failed, i will too' then we would still be celebrating the discovery of fire
3. It is unethical of you to point out someone's bad exp to someone clearly considering it. Have some optimism!
4. (this isnt strictly targeted towards you, rather the whole of media who literally just demotivates everyone out of fear)

I will give my add maths this M/J i was thinking if i get an A* or even an A in add maths that will practically cover my IG math grade

im giving 3 alvls with school and 2 privately. I get concepts more clearly and score higher in school subjects. I would advice you to give school 100% undivided focus and not depend on "ive already done it, cant get more out of it"

SAT's are easy to master, i got 1140 on my practice test. And then after i understood the format and all i got 1560

hey @fallow rose btw you mentioned that Canadian unis doesn't focus much on IG grades, i was planning on applying for scholarships like ISP (international scholars program) ig grades dont matter for that either right? I tried to search on reddit and all couldnt find anything so im asking you

Not 100% sure on that but from what I've seen your most recent grades matter (e.g. when u apply ur AS)
