Hey guys! I’m really confused, I don’t know which A level subjects should I choose. My brother says to keep my options open hence to take chemistry, physics, maths and economics (econ and maths are my own choices the rest of the two are my brother’s) But I think I want to study finance related stuff in the future. I don’t want to do medical at all and my olevels subjects were bio, chem, physics, maths, eng and urdu plus three extra subjects (two of them are not optional in my country). But right now, I’m considering accounting, economics, maths and physics. Is this a good combination and what unis and undergrad degrees would be open for me?
#What should I do?

By your country, you mean your school right? Because the only mandatory sub is English, schools impose these compulsory subs rule
Take the subs you got the best results in, keep chemistry and physics though, it'll help a lot, chemistry isn't that necessary tbh, but physics is Imp, and ofc, you can take statistics, I mean further maths and stuff
Unis and degrees is a wide question, lmk ur grp for that
I think others can give far better advice on this, so imma just go, have a good day
Is this a generalizing statement?
Or is it country specfic?
Totally off-topic, but just wanted know
Cause in my school, they don't mandate English in Year 12 and Year 13
Well, what fields are you interested in?
Any ideas
?
English is mandatory in o levels generally.....that's what I've been told
Yr 12 should be a levels tho
Ah no I misread the question
I thought you were talking bout A levels
An error from my side.
Apologies.
Yeap
Naaa, no worries bro👌
No yeah my whole country made the two subjects mandatory because they’re like subjects about the country. English and Maths are also mandatory.
I got A*s in all of my subjects so I really don’t know 😭
I want to like in general study finance but what if it doesn’t work out for me and I want to do something else?
Finance or marketing or HR or stats mostly but my family often says to keep options open.
Yes
Do you have any extracurricular related to that? Any awards medals etc?
Damn, that's a good result .but I'm talking about raw marks and the one you feel most comfortable with, as in, you can answer its questions flawlessly even after years of not studying,
Although most won't be able yo relate, I'm just talking about the feeling some ppl get, and since u got all a stars, I think u might know, idk
For the best advice though, you should listen to your family unless you have everything prepared for the direction u wanna go in, as in, all universities u wanna apply already set, u have enough extra curricular, certs, etc
Not yet. I recently did an internship in a university under a professor who taught economics
Does that count? She was basically one of the associate professors in public administration
I really do love maths like I love to solve it so that’s why I’m thinking finance bcs slot of maths is involved. Other than that I’m fine with every subject as long as I understand what’s going on. I love writing in English too btw. Idk I don’t have many interests and I hate myself for that.
That definitely counts!!!
Which means that you can get a letter of recommendation from her plus you can also, you might as well ask her to give u a certificate for doing that apprenticeship or internship
Okay, thank you!
I'd def look at Business if you're looking at finance
