#Help Rooms

While discussing a topic for help in the main #[level][subject] channel, some chats may interfere with each other. Because of this, I suggest a temporary chat room for a helper and a student so that they can discuss their concerns alone unless more helpers are required.

The same result could also be obtained using discord threads where only required individuals will join the thread.

Please do look into this!

actually this is a good idea

This is a cool idea but very few channels have the level of activity such that more than 1 conversation is taking place at the same time

But then again, it’s only a few channels

#

Having threads can allow the active channels to work well and the inactive channels to not exist while being able to make them at anytime

Good for clutter

Umm how about making threads instead (EDIT: I just read the above message and uhh, well this is an extension of the idea)

#

Like if we ask a doubt

#

Make the bot automatically create a thread connected to the question

#

That way messages don't get mixed up

#

And once the doubt is solved the thread can be archived.... I think? I mean do something so that the thread doesn't dissapear and users can refer back to it in the future, the user may also have the option to delete the thread from his view, because he might no longer find it helpful others might.

#

Also if the thread name is "organized" then it can also prevent repetition of question. Like many times we ask a question that has already been answered. If we used an organized thread naming system, like maybe paper code + question number, it would allow other helpers, or maybe the bot to make a quick search and check if it is already answered, and if it is, then send the message link to the user

Idk this is just another take at it
