the way i did the masking was through rendering separate scenes with alpha channel, then using it for compositing the main scene :D

oh yeah forgot nodes arent just a thing - u use many nodes to make up a material :D

for distributing the red and blue colors, i used the normals for the faces

and because the background is bent, thats why you see more red in the middle

rendering farms usually require money

#

the "free" ones work like this
you render for other people while you dont use your machine, and you get points

you then spend those points to render your own things. the reason why this rendering farm is quick while using slow machines from other users is because

#

it splits the frames to be rendered into smaller frames, and each computer rendering your scene only needs to render a fraction of it

#

then each frame is put together till you have your video! or if you're rendering a still image the frame is put together and sent back to you

#

even weeks. it's nice to just gather up points and let the farm render it for you in a few hours

ofc u wont use a farm for simple stuff, but say you have a seriously high detailed still image scene, or you have a long animation, it can get time consuming

the reason why u use a farm is to let them render, while you work on the rest of the stuff, since you cant use much of your PC when you're rendering
