I just started can someone explain how the a level program walks is there an end exam like igcse n all ?

and how does the 2 years work with AS and A2

as far as i know A level is divided into 2 parts.There are 5 papers you give. in AS you give 3 papers, p1,p2 and p3 (check the 2025 syllabus for that) and in A2 you give the remaining 2 papers p4 and p5.

You have an option of choosing Edexcel (idk if they call it that). You finish A level in a year

and plus you give exams in either may/june or Oct/nov. its your choice. its way difficult and detailed than igcse and O level btw but has similar topics.

Guys do you suggest for someone to write AS oct/nov next year as a private candidate and then write A level with the school, or should the individual just write all the combined papers in may/june 2026

Because if they write AS and A level separately, they wont be as stressed for may/june exams if they had not written AS prior.

Also they give us a whole month and a week vacation next year in december so december could be used to recap on what topics they missed out on in A levels

Hello guys, so i have bio Phys chem as my mains and I'm planning on to keep a fourth subject becus ppl say to me if i wanna go to IVYs i have to have 4 subs minimum in A levels. I just started my alevels i am confused in what to select. i wanted to keep EVM(environmental management) since i had it in olevels but it turned out to be half credited(only at AS level) 😭. What I do is summarise down to short bullet points, and memorise it. To the pt where you could look at a question regarding let’s say group 2 and you can just give the bullets and explanations after. For explanations try make it like a few words (less than 20) it shouldn’t be like a paragraph.

If you make it just the important facts and keywords, it’s easier to remember and recall. Also use active recall, rlly helps for me.
