it would be helpful if everything referenced in the checklists was highlighted, even if it is a "verify" step as you can encounter these references before they have been explained . e.g. quickstart that puts you in gemini talks about "MDU" without ever having explained what or where it is.

Apologies, I couldn't find the initial suggestion. So I'm posting it here: I absolutely second this. There are tutorial instructions and checklist steps that I - as the beginner as I am - simply can't follow bc I don't know wtf (sry) they are talking about. Example at Gemini Ascent Checklist:
Ignition
Monitor ENGINE I (2) lt:
RED on pressure buildup
OFF on nominal thrust
Monitor ENGINE II lt:
AMBER: ready
Me: Where on earth is that? Can't find it in the manual. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be fine - CHECK.... XD
