so i was told to line myself up for a landing point to take the phase angle over the spot and use that to determine the oppsite side of the orbit in which to fire during retrograde to bring your orbit below 15 km in the right spot. when i do it though it never aligns retrograde it aligns maybe in a radial out position, and after the burn the pe is still nowhere near where i want it

How is your initial orbit ? It has to be pretty much very circular for it to work as intended

but like i said, i asked for a retrograde burn at a phase angle of 159 i believe it as, but my orientation was more a radial out rather then retrograde

yeah ive tried it several times. unless i burn at exactly pe or ap .. ymy craft seems to align in a radial in or out . which totally borks the burn

You probably didn't realign the IMU to the burn direction.
