Happy Humpday!!! The STFC Latinum button is not doing what it used to do. In this short, I break down the mechanical change to the instant build button and explain why so many players got caught off guard after the April 21 update. What used to bypass both time and resource conversion now only bypasses the timer, which means you may still be spending your steel, tritanium, and other materials when you hit that button.
I walk through exactly how the button worked before, how it works now, and why this change may actually help some free-to-play and low-spend players who just want to clear a timer without paying the giant latinum tax for resource conversion. But without documentation, this thing became a wallet trap with extra sparkle. Check your button before it checkmates your steel pile.

Hello,
There is a bug on the North Star, they said on the Official-announcement:
"However, to maintain its speed, The NORTH STAR has sacrificed some of its Cargo limit."
But the North Star only have 4k cargo for a gain that is less than 25% of increase in speed compared to the Envoy but have 75% less cargo capacity ( at Tier1).
How is that "some of its cargo capacity" ? That likes "most of its cargo capacity".
Add to this that it only protect 300, that look like an insult for all player who bought the ships.
Should t the ship do better that the fortunate at least?

A cargo capacity 75% less for the North Start
The protected resources scale with the cargo capacity

@upper ginkgo , struggle is relative. I'm 100% F2P and my base defense is just as strong as most paid players. It's the attacking/ships that are bottlenecked. I don't experience losing to raiders essentially ever.

See, I think F2P SHOULD have that strategy. Me looting a cool 1m+ rss in a day isn't unheard of, and its all because we're aggressive. I get my 2* mats by killing people's miners/ships lol. I get way more resources by attacking that I do mining for 8+ hours a day

I do that too with the ships, it’s a big part of the game. I can get really high numbers just taking out 0 noders & big unprotected cargos. It’s the constant & repeated sacking of bases like it’s lord of the flies up in here that can be a problem. Especially when multiple high level players in an alliance go after a lower one without mercy for days or weeks for no reason. Personally I’ll only hit a base if the player kind of deserves it for being a particularly nasty bully to others smaller than them.

I'm just saying it's absolutely useless against a leveled up NS, vakhlas and a kumari. The upgrade requirements are best used to go for those ships instead. They nerfed the khera into irrelevance along with hundreds of dollars and many hours of time put into it. Just taken from us without notice or explanation. So warning for those out there, do not put too much into your khera cause it would be a money and time sink.

I mean you can't expect a level 20 ship to continue being very strong into the level 26ish range, but a 110-120k Kehra will take down a 140-150k Kumari with proper crew set up. if you don't rush level 20/21 and max out, your kehra will destroy most level 24 kumaris. at least the fresh ones

Key is, Kehra is very competitive for it's level range. 18-22 it can go toe to toe with most people in that area.

@obsidian gate I’d think the problem with Kehra are the costs. For the amount of commons and uncommons to get the Kehra to 45k, you are getting a ns closer to 70-80k. And you are not that far away from a Vahklas that can get to over 65k with zero uncommon investment. Kehra just simply is not a cost competitive ship to run at the moment.

@wide narwhal you can get kehra to 45-50k at level 20 just by getting to tier 3. That's very manageable and competitive. It's a far more cost effective ship than phindra or talla are. I dont have a NS. Kehra is also a better ship pvp wise vs NS

@obsidian gate Kehra is better at a certain strength level, but not at the certain cost level. My point basically is that if you rush Vahklas, you are getting a way better ship for the rss you pay. I feel that the refinery is the real limiter in most cases. Tier 3 already requires uncommons for Kehra and it’s at that point pretty similar to a fresh Vahk.

You get placed so far behind in terms of research and base defense that you become an easy target all for getting a (slightly) stronger ship and becoming more open to attacks from 30+ players. It just makes no sense from a game mechanics standpoint to do that. I'm hands down one of the strongest level 20s on my server because I do not rush.

I feel like there is a difference in goals on trying to be the most powerful on a level vs. just trying to be most powerful for your resources. As you said, Kehra is more costeffective than Talla or Turas. You could have rushed to 20 probably 2 weeks quicker if you would not have maxed up everything before moving up levels.

Anybody can explain this glitch? My miner is on one nearby node but the game says I occupy an empty node. When a player hits the empty node my ship on the other node engages anyway in battle. This glitch has been here since the Alliance mining event.

Nothing fancy to this one! Just a good ol' fashioned slobber knocker blood bath where 9 total alliances ended up participating and many crewman and ship parts now lay scattered across the system of Kaus Borealis. It doesn't get any better than this.

You'll never go wrong investing in the officer mechanics of STFC, and arguably the best set in the game is the morale set led by Purple Kirk. I go over why the intermediate morale set isn't worth fooling with, but the main one definitely is.

@obsidian gate I watched your video about the epics, i'm close to getting kirk and have spock, bones, uhura and sulu. My question is which would be better between bones and paul zhou with kirk and spock? I recently got zhou in an event and wasn't sure if he would be worth using.

Zhou is one I need to play with some more, but let me go over some pos/negs.
Positives:
Zhou would give you a boost to your shield deflect/armor/dodge based on crew defense. (similar to what Spock does with his morale).
Drawback:
You'll lose your synergy bonus, which weaken's Kirk's captains ability which increases the stats of your officers. So, that means it weakens Spock's shield regen.
I haven't done enough testing with this etup because my zhou is a baby (198 strength) and the drop off is too extreme. Were he more leveled though, it would be something worthstudying

Thanks for the info, yeah i think i'll wait till i get kirk and also level up my zhou more to experiment with him but i think after reading what you just wrote about the synergy then bones will be better
Guess i'll also have to wait 9 months and see if carol marcus has synergy, i'm expecting she will
